We were in town for a long weekend and had the opportunity to visit Brix twice, once for lunch and once for brunch. Both experiences were terrific!! We popped in for lunch on a Saturday, we had a short wait and then were seated at a table across from the open kitchen. It was impressive to watch the kitchen team and wait staff work so smoothly together! Top notch!! My friend loved her blackened chicken tacos and I really enjoyed my Cilantro Lime Chicken salad! Both went great with the tasty Paloma's the bar whipped up for us! On Sunday we popped in to see if we could get brunch before we left town, it was Mother's Day so we anticipated there would be a long wait, but fortunately we were sat immediately as we were just a party of two! The place was packed with happy diners, but once again we were impressed by the smooth operating team!! We sipped our mimosas as we watched them handle their busy morning, waitresses were super friendly and chatting with their guests to assure everyone was happy! Great breakfast! We just enjoyed a great breakfast at Brix. We joined my wife's aunt and uncle who live in Roseburg and this is their favorite restaurant for breakfast. I can see why. We were in Myrtle Creek meeting family and were invited up to Roseburg for lunch on Sunday. Being from Sacramento Ca, I fully expected there to be some choices, even for a little Oregon town. Yeah no, so we ended up at Brix. Cute little spot, food not terrible but definitely not awesome. I had a Philly sandwich that was so far from a Philly that I almost told them they needed to rename it. I chalked it up to it being podunk Oregon and chances are the chef/cook/owner had never been out of the area. The hubby got a salad and it was well, a salad. We stopped off here for breakfast on our way down to Winston. I had the crab cake bene and my boyfriend had the 3 pigs omelette which he thought was really good. Our daughter had vanilla french toast. My bene came with a slice of toast underneath which I wasn't too crazy about. I think I prefer the standard English muffin type of bene. The toast was super tough to cut through and too chewy so I just ended up not eating it. The crab cakes were good without it. I loved the hash browns they had the right amount of crisp and the shreds were on the large side. The french toast was also extremely hard to cut through and my daughter only ate a little of it. I would say that the food was good, but I felt the several of the servers were a bit rude. By this I mean, kind of ignoring me for a while and never returning, throwing the check at me without saying anything, and general cold inattentiveness. Some of them were friendly and I do appreciate that. My gut instinct is that this is a conservative area and I am an obviously queer person, that's my best guess as to why this was happening. Enjoyed a really nice breakfast with my daughter. She ordered a veggie omelette and I had the special- steak omelette. The server was really nice and she quickly took our order. There was minimal wait for our food considering that it wasn't too busy that morning. My only gripe is that it did take a while to get our check, but otherwise it was a good choice. I have been coming to Roseburg for work since 2007. I discovered Brix some years ago, and make a point of stopping in. Located in the old city center, Brix has always been excellent. The food is fresh, the flavors are bright, and the service is remarkably fast. I lost about three years of restaurant time due to covid, and was worried that Brix would be one of the casualties of the pandemic, but I found that they are alive and well. Thriving, in fact. The locals have discovered them, and when I was there last time the place was very busy, a major change from when I first went in. I love brix! I can't believe I haven't left a review yet! We love the cool atmosphere, especially when the roof top is open and it's a warm summer night! We have also taken the family to eat here, and there are several options for kids. I love their ever changing menu, but they usually have some kind of herbed salmon with veggies and rice. I've been pleased with the steaks, and the burgers have been delicious too. We like their flatbread appetizers and even though special of the days get a bad rep at many restaurants, the chef usually makes something glorious and worth trying.
