This is my favorite coffee shop and I always make sure to visit when I'm back home in Winchester (since I go to school out in Fairfax). My go-to is usually the Brotastic but I always look forward to the new season flavors they have, which are usually extremely good. The mini donuts are delicious as well! The staff is always friendly and quick to get the orders out. Perfect for on the go since it's a drive-thru shack in a grocery store parking lot, but I also love that there's a walk-up window as well. read more

Wow! We stopped on a road trip, saw it on the map and thought it was a whole shop when it's actually a little cabin in the parking lot - but that's okay! The drive thru was faster than we expected, and the customer service was excellent! We got a Grizzly Bear, a Nutty Brofessor, and some bro-nuts. The Grizzly was great, but the Brofessor??? Six shots and none of them were bitter, what an amazing drink. The mini donuts were awesome too but wow I wish we lived closer. Love the creativity and the themes so much. read more

Best coffee in town, it's family owned the service was nice quick and always a good attitude, When I have the chance I get a cinnamon bro bun its really good. My husband and I are traveling from Mississippi to VA for a few days and stopped here early morning before doing the things for the day. The menu is pretty detailed which is nice and after ordered, we got our drinks within 2 minutes. We both were shocked at how fast the service was. After the long drive, we craved some GOOD coffee.. because along the way we tried some that tasted like flavored milk and I don't vibe with that. But the coffee here was fantastic, and actually tasted like coffee. It was an amazing experience overall-and we even got a little chocolate covered coffee bean on our cup which was delicious!! My experience was not good because the coffee I received was stale and burnt. There were grinds still at the bottom of the latte. It was so acidic that it caused me to have diarrhea and stomach pain immediately after. I even stated to the barista to make my order lighter with more milk than coffee but I instead received more coffee than milk. When I asked her to put more milk, she gave me an excuse saying "Im not supposed to do this,I will get in trouble from the owners." You men to tell me that you're willing to make your customers sick because you're afraid of adding extra milk to inconvenience your higher ups? Don't expect me to come back here if I am going to pay $14 for hemorrhoids. read more

Wanted to switch things up so I decided to have coffee from Bro Bears this morning. It was the best decision. I keep it simple so i ordered an iced vanilla latte and they had mini donuts so I got some in cinnamon sugar. My drink was so good! It didn't taste burnt. It was very robust and you could actually taste the espresso beans and not just the syrup and milk!! The donuts was very light and fluffy. I really enjoyed it. I spent the same amount I would at Dunkin' or Starbucks but this place is next level and the customer service was amazing. It was only one person working but she didn't seem overwhelmed. After reading all the other reviews, I was underwhelmed by this place. I ordered a medium latte and couldn't taste any espresso. I had to take off the lid just to make sure I didn't drive off with a cup of steamed milk. It seems like this place may be better for their specialty drinks. Not sure I'll be back to try again though. I wasn't impressed with their mini donuts. While they were certainly very cute, they were very light and looked like they could have stayed in the fryer a little longer. Nothing exceptional about them. Save your calories and go get some apple cider donuts from a local farm instead. Last, but not least, I asked for a cup of ice water and it was completely undrinkable. It tasted like bleach. The staff was friendly but drinks/food just didn't cut it. read more

Delicious. Seriously, some of the best and most extravagant coffee drinks out there. A little pricey, but not far off from a far inferior Starbucks drink. The only thing stopping it from 5 stars was that I was unknowingly upsold twice - asking me if I wanted x or y in my drink without specifying in their speech or on the menu that it was an extra dollar. Hardly a dealbreaker, since the drinks are fantastic, but something to be wary of. read more

I appreciate a little morning java and when this place came up as a new spot in the Winchester area I just had to go try it. Low and behold this is a cute little gem of a drive thru coffee shop with great tasting coffee . I was greeted with a wonderful smile and when I asked a few questions about some menu items the gal gave me a rundown with no hesitation. Customer service at its finest! I ordered a dark coffee with mini apple cider doughnuts (they have several flavors). They give you a free chocolate covered coffee bean with every coffee drink this was a nice surprise! Next time i go I will be trying their Keto coffee Side note-I was worried my truck would not fit thru the drive tru however, it made it just fine. read more

I'm not even a "coffee person " but through my wife and friends that are professional coffee roasters I have found what coffee is supposed to taste like. As in the Starbucks brand coffee is a extremely low quality burnt bean that is rated lower then McDonald's. Not kidding. These guys have good coffee with some extremely great flavors. My test is if a place can make a correct dirty chia. So fare only 4 places which include brobears have made it correctly. The other "coffee" places in town made something that tasted like dirty dish water. I highly recommend the grizzly bear. A full flavor coffee drink that will make your day special. read more

When I first saw the little outpost in the FoodMaxx parking lot being transformed into a coffee hut I was intrigued and now it is hard to believe Bro Bears has been with us for nearly a year! As others have mentioned the owners are very friendly in a way that makes it a pleasure to support their business. The location is very convenient for us RT-7 commuters looking for a caffeine fix on our way over the mountain and the service is very speedy. Thus far, I've only tried two of their speciality drinks, the Almond BroCa and the Kodiak - adding almond to a mocha is an inspired idea, but a little sweet. The Kodiak, a white and dark chocolate mocha, is more my speed. The prices are very reasonable for an espresso drink and each one comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean, which is a nice touch. The mini-donuts and bagels are a little underwhelming, but from time-to-time I succumb and get a muffin, which is quite substantial. Remember to save your "bear hug" - the cardboard sleeve on the cup. They stamp them and after so many stamps it can be redeemed for a free drink, which is a nice incentive to keep coming back and reuse something that would otherwise be wasted. TL;DR: the coffee drinks are delicious, very reasonably priced, served quickly with a smile. read more

Walked in to the very small space and were told we needed to order online, so we got out our phones and scanned one of the many QR code signs posted on every surface anordered - two bagels, one with cream cheese and the other with butter. He confirmed he received the orders immediately- even before the payment had gone through. That seemed like a good sign. We waited and watched while he made salads and other orders for people who presumably ordered online before us, but didn't come in to pick up while we were there. Eventually he made our bagels, put them in cardboard baskets, covered them with aluminum foil (not sure why we needed that cardboard waste -- would have been happy with my bagel just wrapped in foil), covered them with paper towels, put them each in separate paper bags, and placed them on the counter while calling our names (even though we were the only people in the place and he had confirmed he knew who we were when he received the order). We took the bagels and walked across the street and got our coffees from the cute cat cafe with the friendly staff. Hit the road, and pulled out our bagels in the car. First bite was so bad that I tossed the rest of the bagel back in the bag... it was so crunchy it was more of a thick bagel chip, and shards of bagel stuck between my teeth like splinters. Certainly one-of-a-kind, I've never had another bagel like it. About 10 miles later I was hungry enough to get the bagel out and try again... this time I kneaded it through the aluminum foil a bit to bread it up first. It was still very crunchy and sharp, but there were some softer bits toward the middle. There wasn't much flavor, except where it was drenched in butter (and those bites tasted like butter, which isn't a bad taste I guess). TLDR, if you want bagels in Winchester WV skip this place and go to Sclafani's.
