I was able to book a last minute pregnancy massage. It was a good massage, but I was nervous I was going to fall off the bed a few times. They have a full sized blow up bed to lay on with the cut out of a hole for your belly. It was on a shaky bed to begin with, which he warned me about. I realized that later in pregnancy it would not be smart for me to go there. I hear they have a monthly package deal which might be worth look in to for some! read more

My whole experience at Broad Ripple Massage & Wellness was so relaxing, from start to finish. I was the only person there when I checked in, and the only person in the building during my massage, and it was so quiet. I felt like I could really let go all of the stress and just exhale. I booked my massage with Anthony, the co-owner of Broad Ripple Massage & Wellness. I chose him because he has experience with Thai massage, which my body really responds to. The massage with Anthony was wonderful. He incorporated some elements of Thai massage and stretching, but also lots of Swedish massage strokes and deep-tissue work which targeted some of my most tense muscles. I loved that he focused a lot on my jaw muscles and head/neck area, which just so happens to be where I carry a lot of tension. After my massage, I was fully relaxed and dazed, as one should be after a great massage. Afterward, Anthony told me that I also carry a lot of tension in my chest, and gave me some tips on how to stretch those muscles by stretching out my shoulders and arms. I love walking away with more knowledge on how to take care of myself! Broad Ripple Massage offers massages, but they also offer float therapy, which is a type of sensory deprivation that places you in a room with a shallow pool of salt water that makes you buoyant. And you float, in the dark and without sound, and eventually you fall asleep and your muscles and mind relax. I have never tried float therapy, but I think I am going to take the plunge (so to speak) soon, and my first time will definitely be at Broad Ripple Massage, because they have a nice setup. I have received a lot of massages but this experience was just OK. When you first walk in, the environment is very relaxing and peaceful. I loved all the plants when you go downstairs. The customer service was great! The front desk staff was nice and the guy that did my massage was nice as well lol. He was really catering to me. I wanted the massage to be a little more detailed. For a professional massage, I wanted a little more time spent on my entire body instead of my back. I feel like he spent half my 60 minute massage on my back alone.. maybe more time on my legs and feet would be nice. I've never been here before, but was given as a christmas gift and was purchased through Groupon. . When I first walked in, i was so surprised by the enviornment. When you walk in its dim lighting and the check in area is down stairs. I was mainly surprised because I didn't expect it to be "underground". I did not have to wait long at all after checking in and completing my paperwork. One difficultly was finding the building. GPS wasn't really clear on where to turn in. Due to knowing its in a suit and finding it may be difficult, I think it would have been kind the receptionist to offer suggestions of locating the building, knowing I've never been here before. I ended up parking at another building and walked over so I wouldn't be late trying to find the correct place. I loved the massage room itself. I loved the lighting, aroma, and decor of the room. It really put you in a good mood to begin your massageonly downfall was that it was a couples room, so two massage tables. Every time he had to switch out towels or get oil he had to walk across to the other side of the room. I had Anthony, and overall I really enjoyed him. Prior to the massage he did state he could be a little heavy handed, and if it was too much pressure to let him know. I told him my problem areas and he focused on those areas a lot. I was surprised by the contstant rotation of hot towels as well as use of hot stones, I've never experienced a massage with hot stones, it was different but a good surprise! I thoroughly enjoyed my massage. Following the massage, Anthony checked me out and told me he noticed a significant problem area. He advised coming back on a more regular basis and offered to look over the schedule with me, he said he understood that could become quite timely and expensive. 3 stars feels fair. Had an interesting experience... I booked a massage (first of the day) and my massage therapist did not show up. Kianna (the owner) was able to fit me in later in the day and she comped the session. I was appreciative and she definitely took accountability for her staff. However, she used an electric massager at various times. She did ask if I'd be okay with that and I admittedly did say yes (I thought she was referencing a new high-tech technique). I was floored to experience that this was just a standard electric massager. I do not think that's appropriate for a professional massage. I had two massages in March with Ryan Wallin. Don't know why I'm so late with my review. I initially found BRMP on groupon for $39 so I decided to give it a try. The booking process online was a breeze as well as finding the location. I walked in a went downstairs to a nice tranquil room where the receptionists were very nice. Ryan came out to greet me and took me back to a room and asked if there was any specific areas he wanted me to work on. I tend to have lower back issue so that's what I needed focus on. I was very pleased with his work and he definitely got a knot out of my neck for me. Felt like I was there longer than an hour, but the time said otherwise lol. After the massage was over, he handed me some water along with some epsom salt for my bath at home. I thought that was a nice touch. Since they were running a special for 1st timers, I decided to go ahead on book my second appointment for $39 and I made sure I had Ryan again. I think it's time to rebook for #3! read more

My husband booked me a surprise appointment for a prenatal massage with Anthony. Every aspect of the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere is very zen, and also very dark, which I appreciate. Anthony was amiable, right from the start. He went out of his way to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Abbi never showed up. I waited for 20 minutes, having to listen to the receptionist explain to me how it's really no ones fault and their system has a glitch. So when you request a massage the night before, the therapist might not have received the notification. Well their system made sure I received two notifications which I've included in this review. Seriously I try to support local businesses all the time but this is just UNACCEPTABLE. I found this place thanks to Yelp and called in about the Yelp pricing. They let me know that it's an even better deal for first time customers, who get 90 minutes for $49. I chose that but had to wait a month for my appointment due to them being very booked up during evening hours. On the day of the appointment, the place was difficult to find but I re-read the e-mail and discovered they share space with a dental practice. I got there about 5 minutes early to do paperwork. I liked the dim lighting and it smelled great inside. As I did paperwork, a couple of women at the desk loudly discussed scheduling and their kids. It was a bit distracting; it should have taken place without customer(s) around but oh well. One woman made sure I didn't have a Groupon because apparently several massage therapists here don't accept them. I was taken back on time at 6pm for my massage with Cara. The room was big and really nice/relaxing. She got started a little bit later and I let her know I prefer deep tissue, not light. The massage started face down and was like that for 75% of the time. The head rest was super squeaky so that was a bit awkward in a quiet room. I kept waiting for the deep tissue to begin but it was the lightest massage I'd ever had. I felt like someone was barely grazing my skin. I never got the deep tissue experience I was hoping for. She scratched my scalp a LOT with oil and I didn't enjoy that part whatsoever, but I hate complaining in a massage so I kept quiet. It ended at 7:12, which was really sad. We didn't get started right at 6:00 and to end an additional 18 minutes early is a big chunk of time to take away. There was a sign on the way out about how a proper tip is at least $24 on a 90 minute massage. That didn't sit well with me after my experience. I was happy to be handed water upon leaving but it's a tiny cup, not enough for after a massage, especially since most places give you a whole bottle. Overall, I like this place, but would request someone else if I came back. As a Secret Santa gift, I got gifted a Groupon for a 60 min massage here. I made my appointment, online, back in the beginning of Jan. They seemed to be pretty booked. They also have a lot worth maybe 10-15 spaces. The lot wasn't filled up when I got there but they share a building with other businesses. Walking in, you go down the stairs. The space sets the mood perfectly. It smells good, dimly lit, and pretty quiet. The receptionist gave me paperwork to fill out (quick one page questionnaire) and I was taken back shortly after. The room was set up nicely (although it was set for a couple). It was so dark, i couldn't see where I was putting my clothes but the nature/water sounds were relaxing. I had Ryan and overall, I was satisfied. He asked questions about how I like my massage and any problem spots. I asked for medium pressure and told him my neck/upper back area was a problem spot. He did a great job on this. Used hot stones, hot towels, and really worked on my back. I still got a full body massage but I don't feel like the pressure was as hard. He did ask for feedback during the massage, as a check-in, I guess. That threw me off as I'm used to massages being quiet. He gave me a full hour and did not rush me to get up and get dressed afterwards. He was very polite! As I was leaving, there was a new receptionist. She was very nice and I asked about scheduling another massage, maybe a couples one. She was very honest and said it would most likely be after the end of March before a couples spot opened up. We received a couples massage as a gift from a relative in the beginning of October. We called to get on the schedule, and struggled for two weeks to get a response. They apparently don't have a receptionist full-time, so getting to speak to anyone is a chore. Once we got in touch with someone (through voicemail tag) they told us they didn't have enough therapists to accept the groupon and we would have to wait. Two weeks after, I called back again to check up, and they said they would put us on the schedule since we had waited so long. We waited two months, showed up for our appointment, and were told that we were no where on the schedule, probably because another therapist had quit. This business does not care about customers, even potential ones - they offer deals they can't back up, and they have a turnaround rate comparable to McDonalds. There's probably a reason for that. Avoid this place at all costs. Spend a little extra and go to Woodhouse, or Hillside in Broad Ripple. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

My fiance and I enjoyed a couples massage here (shoutout to Groupon) and it was a wonderful experience. Our masseuses were Anthony and Ryan who made us feel comfortable and relaxed right off the bat. Now I can't speak for Ryan, but Anthony knows what to do with his hands! I have a lot of tension in my upper back and along my spine and Anthony was able to work out the kinks and knots like they were nothing. So scheduled an appointment for this location two days in advance. Had several emails confirming date and times to suddenly have my schedule changed the day of the appointment to a half hour earlier. Not a big deal I can accommodate a little scheduling change. However a half hour before my appointment I get a call from the establishment saying they are suddenly overbooked and cannot take me in for the day. The level of incompetence is off the charts. The best part is that it's pretty obvious I was bumped out of my spot for a "higher paying" or "regular" customer The caller attempted to reschedule my appointment but why would I bother with such a horrible experience with out being touched once. If the service is this bad over the phone the actual physical service has to be 10 times worse. I guess if you're a regular you can keep this place. I'll be on the look out for something that actually provide quality service and doesn't cancel my reservation minutes before my scheduled time. Horrible. read more

I booked a massage with David using the BRMP website. Super easy, and I love that they have a special for first time visitors. $39 for a 60 minute massage- can't beat that! The location is super easy to get to, and the entire office has a lovely relaxing feel to it. I had a great first massage with David. I really appreciated how he would periodically check in about his level of pressure, and he always let me know what he was going to do next (i.e. I never felt uncomfortable or suprised when he needed me to turn over or adjust in some way) My experience was *almost* perfect. When I booked online, I scheduled an appointment for a certain time. However, when I received my confirmation booking, it was for a different time. This was super confusing, and I assumed that they had had to move my appointment for some reason. I arrived at the practice for the earlier of the two times, and discovered that my appointment was still at the original time, and I just had to awkwardly wait for a bit. No worries- as David was able to take me back a bit early. Nita came out and took me back to her room. I love that each room is different in decor, but each is probably as equally inviting. I'm telling ya, I needed this massage in a bad way! Jeff was my therapist. He was fantastic! Mind you, my mom is a massage therapist, so he had some pretty big shoes to fill. When I first entered the room, it was decent sized. I have had some massages in some pretty tight quarters. He asked what areas I wanted him to focus on, and I told him my shoulders/neck and my feet. I see Anthony who provides an integrative massage combining traditional back, shoulder, neck, head, and leg massage with scent and stone therapy.
