Chili con queso - very spicy! Good for some perhaps, but not for all. Buyer beware!
    Lucy C.

Taquitos were good, fajitas were good too. The chili con queso was very spicy, too hot to eat. Customer service was less than ideal when we called to let them know about the chili con queso. Hopefully they'll actually do something about it, but the manager even said he didn't like the chili con queso. So my recommendation would be to maybe avoid that menu item.

    Breakfast chimi was so good!

We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant with lots of available seating...or so we thought. After waiting several minutes at the front before the hostess returned to seat us, we were taken to a booth that was imminently next to other guests and were informed the next both over, entire row near the back and the entire row next to the patio were reserved (for a parties that didn't arrive the entire time we were there) when we asked if anywhere else was available. Avoid the air fried chicken products - the chicken tenders and chicken sandwich were both paper thin and extremely dry. Our server seemed as though she would rather be anywhere else than serving our table, food was delivered by someone in a "chef's" coat, drinks were refilled by another server who happened to be walking by and noticed our glasses were empty and a manger checked in on us (who we shared our concerns with and who offered a replacement option) all while our server took care of another table, or sat in a private dining room at the back of the restaurant chatting with other staff. As for the ambiance - there really isn't any other than open and bright? Maybe it's better later in the evening or on the weekend, but as far as week nights - it's fairly mainstream. We keep returning to True Food as the healthier option hoping that the service, food quality and execution will someday match the price and location; however, this was likely our last experience.

Unless you get there super-early at 4, before the 5pm dinner opening, and then wait in the shorter line. Unless you are having lunch there, and in that case I am guessing it may be the same, ie getting in the cue at 11ish before 12pm. I have had the Spotted Pig pizza and whatever enticing pie specialities they have rotated seasonally. I usually opt for the truffle oil or balsamic glaze on our pizza. I have never needed to tweak their delightful presented ingredients combinations. Their pizzas are that outstanding. Take for instance, a recent summer pizza from the Chef's own garden: "The Cuba Libra pizza ...This white pizza features mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, complemented by pork confit, chile-roasted jicama, pickled red onions, cilantro, and fresh mint." I'd never crave mint on a pizza but if Eastport's Vin 909 is serving it, I'm probably going to enjoy it. If you are the more traditional type, another seasonal pizza featured is the Yankee Pie: "family recipe crust with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, summer sausage, marinated red peppers and oregano." And yes, please, to another summer, perfect-in-Annapolis feature: "Vaquero Clams: Steamed local little neck clams, English ale, bacon, grilled poblano peppers, garlic guajillo butter, fresh oregano, epazote and cilantro." I love the gigantic Vin 909 featured arugula salad. I also miss their divine french press coffees and Butterscotch Pudding with caramelita points. A little known fact: when I was there, you could purchase extra caramelita points for $2 or $3. Vin 909 is truly the best dining in Annapolis -- or Naptown -- as folks like me say.

There's something about the water, the breeze, and the quiet charm of this area that settles your spirit in the best way. A good friend of mine lives on Kent Island, and honestly, the best way to visit Bridges is by boat. Pulling up to a restaurant by water just hits differently. But don't worry you can absolutely drive here too, and the experience is just as lovely. Restaurants by the water are always a plus, but Bridges brings more than a view. It brings that easy, coastal energy that makes you want to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy where you are. The kind of place where good food, good company, and good scenery all meet at the same table. Bridges Restaurant brings exactly what you hope for when you escape the city for a moment of calm; beauty, peace, and a reminder that life feels better by the water. Service is always great! I literally said this past weekend that this has to become a monthly occurrence! It's too good and too beautiful to just come once a year! Let's get into it! Stuffed Pepper - Amazing!! Thanks to the waitress for hyping these up. Seafood Tacos - Delicious! I would definitely get these again and would try the Mahi Mahi kind or whatever fish they have! So freaking good! Brought Hawaii Maui vibes back. Ancho Rockfish - Fish was excellent, grits were not a fave. Watermelon refresher - YES! These are dangerously good! I'll be back! And soon! Cheers! The hostess and waitress were so kind, friendly, and accommodating! They brought out a water bowl for our dog. We ordered the whole oysters flash fried (special of the day), the shrimp and grits, and the shrimp salad sandwich with island fries (upgraded for 3.50). The oysters were fantastic. Freshly fried and super juicy. We loved them. Our sandwich and shrimp&grits took a while to get to us, but worth the wait. The shrimp in the grits were massive. My husband couldn't finish it all. The shrimp salad was stellar. And the brioche bun went so well. I will say the island fries had a spice we didn't love. The queso dip it came with was good. Didn't love the chili aioli it came with. It was weirdly sweet. I'd probably stick to the regular fries next time. Service is a little slower than were use to, but it definitely fit the vibe of the area. Just low key and relaxing. We would definitely come back!

The atmosphere, a converted house, is charming and intimate but not crowded. Service was prompt and friendly but professional. We started with drinks, a Bloody Mary ($12) and a virgin coffee cocktail ($6.) We then ordered Crème Brûlée French toast for the 4-year-old, which ended up being a shared appetizer since it was way too decadent for one person: slices of pan-toasted croissant, nutmeg-scented custard sauce, real whipped cream and fresh berries ($18.) My husband enjoyed the steak and eggs, a 6-oz tenderloin with two eggs, potatoes and toast for $24. I got the Caesar salad with salmon, which I'm going to give you a few details about because it was the best Caesar salad I've ever had, and I order a lot of them! Caroline's has basically fixed all the common problems: local, fresh mixed greens in lieu of ribby Romaine, sharp house dressing on the side rather than too much of that mayonnaise-based nonsense, croutons browned in butter instead of the stale boxed kind, and added interest from thinly sliced avocado and perfectly ripe diced tomato. The salmon portion was generous (bringing the overall price to $24; again, very reasonable right now) and cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and meltingly tender within. There's really nothing that needs improvement here. Just please visit and support this uniquely delicious local business! We will definitely be back next time we're in town.
