    Scallops on risotto

The place was nicely decorated and it was packed when I went at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The only issue was the noise level is a bit high. Also there was a woman who came in wearing a tube top that was pulled down and her nipple was showing! Not the restaurant's fault but I felt that the host could've said something. I guess it could be good or bad for the business depending on who's looking. Food was fantastic. I had the Maryland crab soup which was rich in flavor although a tad on the salty side. For entrees, my friend had the kale Caesar with grilled chicken (which he loved) and I had the grilled scallops (which I loved as well). We finished with a peanut butter mousse dessert. Our server was very good and refilled out drinks before we even had to ask Overall a great experience.

We visited Leo's on a moderately busy Saturday evening and opted for the outdoor seating since the weather was too pleasant to pass up. The service struck that perfect balance--gracious and consistent, warm without ever feeling smothering. I did sneak a peek inside, and the space itself is worth noting: a thoughtful balance of minimalism and opulence. It doesn't feel sparse, but it also avoids being overdone--just the right touch of polish and atmosphere. The food was solid across the board. The she-crab soup was a creative interpretation--spicier than the Maryland versions I'm used to, but the nod to Old Bay was clear and welcome. The house salad was bright and refreshing, elevated by a wonderful ginger dressing that made it memorable. The steak and fries came with a sauce that I'm still thinking about--it tied the whole dish together. Next time, I'd order the medallions medium rare, as the medium came out a bit firm. But the true star of the show? The burger. Two thin patties with crispy, caramelized edges and a juicy, succulent center--seasoned to absolute perfection. The meat itself tasted fresh and high-quality, and the lightly buttered bun brought everything together. Honestly, it's one of the best burgers I've had--easily in my top five. Leo's delivered on both food and hospitality, and I'll definitely be back.

My husband and I had dinner at Leo this past Friday before a concert down the street at Rams Head on Stage Annapolis. We had a reservation, but - at least this early on a Friday night (our reservation was for 6:15) - I don't you necessarily need one. We were immediately sat down at our table and greeted by their very friendly staff. I would say Leo is somewhere between Modern American and Southern. We shared a few dishes: golden crispy grits (fried grit cakes with mixed pickles and hot sauce aioli); the citrus-marinated beet salad (red and golden beets, tahini, hazelnuts, sesame, arugula, a cilantro dressing, and Cara Cara oranges); the smash burger (dry-aged patties, cheddar, pickles, onion, and Leo sauce on brioche with fries); and a fried catfish sandwich. I thought the grits were fun but not super flavorful without the hot sauce aioli and pickles. The beet salad was good; the cilantro dressing made it different from a lot of other beet salads I've had, and I enjoyed that. The catfish sandwich was good, but I liked the smash burger better. I was very tempted by a dessert they had (strawberry shortcake funnel cake), but we were - sadly - too full to try it. I had a glass of wine (Gruner Veltliner from Austria) and one cocktail (a blood orange margarita), which were both good. My husband stuck to The Primary (a mix of rye and amaros), which he enjoyed enough to have more than one. The restaurant is attractive, comfortable, and casual (people were dressed very casually inside and it was totally appropriate, but you could also dress up a bit if you want, because it's a nice enough space that you wouldn't stand out dressed up). The service was top-notch. Our server was lovely - friendly, helpful, but other staff also checked on us and brought dishes over. We felt very taken are of. Our food at Leo didn't blow us away. But incredible service and good vibes make it well deserving of a four star review for me.

Stopped by Leo in the historic district of Annapolis and loved their happy hour drink menu! They have four choices for $7 all night Monday thru Thursday and 4-6 on Friday and Saturday! The bartender is super friendly and it wasn't too busy which was also a plus. The espresso martinis are fantastic. They used a variety of chocolate liquor in the mix that blends so well with the rest of the drink. I didn't order them, but the vodka martinis and aperol spritz also looked fantastic! I highly recommend stopping by for a drink, or two at Leo if you are in the area! The Happy Hour cannot be beat!

In town for the Annapolis Cup Croquet Match and stumbled upon Leo Annapolis while looking for a place to have dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily were able to be seated after about 10 minutes. The restaurant looked busy-- all the bar seating was filled and tables inside were all accounted for. There is also seating outside. Our waiter was great and very quick to refill our water and take our order. He was extremely attentive and very friendly. As for the food, we shared the fried grits and for mains-- my friend had the quarter chicken and I had the smash burger. The chicken was seasoned really well and cooked perfectly! He did mention the portion size is a little bit on the smaller size. The smash burger was nothing special, and pretty on par for other burgers I've had in the past.

The service was excellent. Brendan, and the other waitstaff and manager were very attentive. I went with Brendan's recommendation which was the special that night, a seared scallops and grits dish, and it was A-MAZING! The chili brussel sprouts were phenomenal too. The drink was interesting. I would highly recommend dining here if you're ever in the area.

We went to Leo Annapolis for lunch today and it was great. I had the chicken and crab mac and cheese and my husband had the smash burger. Both were delicious and really hit the spot. Our waitress Kennedi took great care of us and made the experience really enjoyable. She found out it was our anniversary and put a cute note card on the table. Went an extra step to make us feel soe We'll definitely be back when we are back in the area.

Leo is a must visit restaurant in Annapolis for foodies. I was so impressed with their apps from the start: celery bisque was delish and comforting and their Delicata & ricotta is a brilliant app. I love how the chef came up with the concept of a cold squash dish: the fresh veggies and ricotta cheese made this dish perfect. Blue catfish did not disappoint either. Loved the mushroom topping on the catfish. Unfortunately their cocktails didn't live up to their food: they were a-OK. Winter mule was nice but Manhattan and espresso martini, not so much. Otherwise, Leo is a dynamite spot for foodies and I will be returning on my next Annapolis visit.

Very good. I had leo salad, chicken fried tofu, and a dinner special (lamb chicago-style sub). Fries were perfectly cooked. Enjoyable and good service.

Leo in Annapolis is incredible! I was struck by its adorable, stylish, and contemporary design. Our server (and the manager) were so attentive and genuinely friendly. She even ran after me down the street after I forgot my leftovers--over and above the call of duty! The brussel sprouts were delicious and the Leo burger was exceptional. We had the drunken bread pudding for dessert - absolutely phenomenal! I highly recommend Leo and will be back. 10/10

OMG! Come on over to Leo Annapolis and stay awhile. This place is perfect for after work, catching up with friends, social hour, date night or a solo day. It's a whole vibe. The atmosphere and energy were amazing. Adrienne G. was the perfect waitress. She made sure we were taken care of the entire evening, from beginning to end. She suggested some really great choices for me to try my first time here. The cornbread was amazing. The steak was so tender and flavorful. The burger was delicious. Meats so fresh and tender. And the S'Mores ice cream was heavenly. Thank me later.

    Blood Orange Margarita and...?

Excellent!! Go to Annapolis pretty regularly but haven't spent enough time in this area. Excellent pre-dinner craft cocktails at the bar and I haven't stopped talking to anyone who will listen about the squash and burrata appetizer with focaccia toast. The most simple ingredients turned into an amazing dish!! Do not sleep on this one. We both had the steak frites. The sauce was divine, steak tender, and fries perfectly cooked. We were too full for dessert but we will definitely be back!!

One of my favorite burgers of all time!
    Marc M.

The burger is to die for. Cute little establishment in Annapolis but not in the touristy downtown, west street has a cool vide. The bar is neat and the table intimate yet part of an overall groovy feel. The cheese board and burgers are our thing. Been there numerous times and will always be on the top of my list when visiting town.

They are definitely lighter on the sauce, so if that's your preference these are perfect. Personally, I like my wings a little saucier, so I would probably ask for extra sauce next time. The chicken itself was fried perfectly and the portion size was pretty solid. For my main, I got the buffalo chicken wrap with no buffalo sauce and it was amazing. The lettuce, guac, and pico all tasted fresh and paired really nicely with the breaded chicken in the wrap. My only complaint with it is they go pretty light on the guac and pico, so I wish there was a bit more of both. The pricing overall was fair too and didn't feel over the top for the quality and portions. The fries that came with the wrap deserve their own mention because they were phenomenal. Crispy golden brown on the outside with a soft, fluffy inside. Honestly, I'd come back just for the fries alone. I requested outdoor seating when making the reservation and they have a really nice outdoor section with a great atmosphere and view. They did a good job with the space they had, but the tables are pretty close together, so you can hear basically every conversation around you. The chairs were also a bit smaller and not the most comfortable for longer seating. Service was great all around. Our server was very polite and even helped my very undecided sister choose her meal. Everyone was friendly and it definitely feels like a nice place to bring friends or family. My only real complaint, and honestly this applies to a lot of places nearby, is the parking. However, the chicken was breast meat and sliced thin, which made it come across as dry. I did tell the server I liked it and didn't go into much detail since she seemed very busy and I didn't want to add stress in the moment. Still, it's not something I would personally order again. The waffle situation was more frustrating. I initially received cornmeal waffles, but I had told my server ahead of time that I strongly avoid cornmeal. She said she would substitute them, so I was surprised when the plate came out with the original cornmeal waffles. I didn't realize at first and ended up taking a bite before noticing. I let the server know and she had the kitchen remake it. The replacement Belgian waffles were overcooked and dense, so they didn't really improve the experience. The butter though was genuinely delicious, just very rich and more of a holiday-style flavor than something I'd personally crave in warmer weather. I also had a basic cup of coffee made with Rise Up Coffee Roasters, which was $4.50. That felt overpriced for what it was. I could have walked right across the street and had a specialty coffee from the source for very little extra cost, which honestly would have been the better choice. Overall, the experience had some clear issues, especially with the waffle mix-up and consistency, but it wasn't completely disappointing. I just don't think I would personally order the same meal again.
