I don't understand except that the kitchen and wait staff must be completely different on some days. We're regulars at Libby's and boat in often. A month ago we dined...it was average. Pizzas not the same as last year, cocktails weak, everything not served warm even the soup. Visited two weeks ago...amazing! Spicy cucumber margarita fabulous (as usual), lemon chicken flatbread blew us away, salad fresh and tasty! Today, same cocktail (that I know well) undrinkable and our server didn't even ask when I ordered another, same chicken flatbread awful, I don't know what was up! Oh, and the "new manager" talked to every table but ours...she has a ways to go with the locals. Please Libby's...do better! read more

Arrive at 11am at Libbey's and take a stunning seat on the upper deck to survey the Bay Bridge, the Chesapeake Bay and a reminder of why Bay Living is a luxury. Service is always great and food is generous and consistently well prepared. Bottom line: come here for a drink but not the food. I had salmon, it was overcooked and lacked any flavor. The only flavor came from literally a pile of capers. Someone else had the shrimp and sea bass, also overcooked and lacking in flavor. Someone had a lobster roll, very low on the lobster. It was still $200 for 4 people to eat & I would not say it was worth that. There was a pretty view but a ton of flies. And nobody was maintaining the bathroom, which had a half roll of toilet paper for multiple stalls. If you're celebrating something special, there are better spots! read more

Their crab soup and nachos were honestly some of the best I've ever had, and the waterfront view made it even better--such a perfect spot for a quick drink and bite. They also offer flatbreads, appetizers, and full entrees, plus a full bar and plenty of outdoor seating. Definitely a great place to go with a group. read more

Our second dinner at Libby's in as many weeks and I continue to be impressed. We arrived for an early dinner after picking up our son at BWI and opted to sit on their covered pavilion with beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I had the Libby's Cobb salad and my son and wife each had crabcakes. The Cobb salad was a thing of beauty and I'm afraid my picture does not adequately present how lovely it was. Our whole family are very picky when it comes to crabcakes and we all agreed that the ones we had tonight were some of the best we have ever had, say no more. Our waitress was Lily and she was spot on and kept our drinks and water filled. Great ambience, great views and most importantly great food equals a five star rating which I don't give out easily. After a long, day trip to PA that required crossing over the Chesapeake Bay and coming back again, I saw Libbey's from the road and pulled over. The dining room was busy; no host/hostess was present, however. Decided to try the adjacent bar and perhaps get dinner there. Sat at a table, but after no attention for 15 minutes, moved to the long, white, main bar and plopped down in front of a bartender. Got service immediately. Started with cream of crab soup--subtle, flavorful. Then turned to a rockfish dish as well as a crabcake offering, with sides of coleslaw and veggies. All of it was very good, light tasting, executed with modern flair. The plating was appealing too. Nice vibe in the bar, almost hushed, as folks can enjoy a tranquil view of the Chesapeake Bay. A replica of the "Three Soldiers" statue, from the National Vietnam Memorial site in DC, is found outside, on the expansive grounds of this multifaceted establishment. My dream home would be by water so while in the area looking at houses I stopped for lunch on Sunday. This place used to be Hemingway which closed in December of 2021. Then Libbey's opened in Spring of 2022. I have not been here since the new owners took over and why, who knows but shame on me! Same cute concept, menu is great, and equally as good as the last restaurant that was here. Service was great and every staff member was super nice. Definitely date day/night worthy! Ladies come with your most relaxing dress or casual outfit. Single ladies, tons of single men at the below deck, if you want alone time get a table inside or on the patio on the upstairs deck. Views are gorgeous! That sunset and view is stunning! Let's get into it! Cocktails - This is a more refined restaurant so no slushie drinks here! They do have a great cocktail menu, I opted for Prosecco which they had! Not everyone does! Had to point that out! Calamari - Portion size is a bit on the smaller side for the price but it was good! Fresh! And the sweet chili sauce was delicious. Crab Dip - You know I had to try this! I personally needed more flavor so I added old bay which did the trick. Lots of fresh lump crab! Crème of Crab - Delicious! No complaints! Side salad - Delicious! No complaints! I ordered a crab cake sandwich too but had the waitress box it up to go because 2 apps, a soup and a salad were plenty. Definitely order one app, if you're going to get an entree. read more

The food was not seasoned well and the old bay nachos were good but the "nachos chip" were old bay potato chips but they tasted like carrots with a little bit of old bay on it.The service was good our waiter was very friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful location. Stopped on our way home from Saint Michael's. Both waiters suggested we try something out of our box called "snake fish bites." Glad we did. Just as good as they said even tho I was afraid. They are invasive fish. But they were served with this Thai chili sauce, which was the bomb ! 5 star for the ambiance! The view one of a kind. Relaxing on the top deck with a view of the bay in the most comfortable chair. I could have fell asleep. Our server was very kind and attentive. The food arrived quick and everything was delicious. Fried green tomatoes have a nice cream sauce to accompany it. Very flavorful. I was doubtful of the seafood nachos because I didn't think the chips would hold up from a rich cheese sauce, but it did! Crunchy chips with a seafood packed sauce. Shrimp, crab in every bite. A very pretty restaurant on Kent Island but wished the food was better. We stopped in here on the way back from NYC and since it was a beautiful day, having a beautiful view of the water was really nice. I also wished the outdoor seating area was open so we could enjoy sitting outside but since it's still early in the season, we had a table inside. A very pretty restaurant with great service. My mom had a po boy sandwich and I had the crab dip. My mom's po boy was pretty good but the crab dip was a bit bland (but the flavor profile improved as a leftover). Maybe we went on a bad night, but the food tasted like overcooked, bland, overpriced hotel food. I got the salmon - DO NOT order that. I could tell it was a frozen, thin, C grade cut, so overcooked it was solid. My wife got the pork loin - dry, over cooked and bland tasting. We let the manager know, she gave us a free desert, which was nice of her. I'd have comped the meal had it been my restaurant. When you spend $100 for 2 people, I expected so much more. Very disappointing. I'd give it one star, but the service was good and the beers were cold. It's a nice location for a drink, not so much for dinner. read more

I popped in here because Betta half wanted some crab cake since we were passing through Maryland, and I just got off that high a$$ Chesapeake bridge. The place is actually pretty nice; it is a boating resort, I believe, right off the coast of the bridge. Sunsets, I bet, are pretty nice, it was chilly, but the outdoor patio looked pretty awesome to sit back and enjoy beer, food, whatever your vibe is. The place is big, get your Sunday best on. Libby's is where it's at! Very chill restaurant, at least the bottom open area near the dock is. That's my only frame of reference for that part of the restaurant. I took my dog down there for lunch on a Sunday, and it's not packed. Service is quick, drinks are amazing, and so is the food. My dog and I ended up staying there for a few hours chatting and hanging with the locals. It's way more chill and laid back than anywhere in Annapolis, just a quick jaunt across the Bay Bridge, can't miss it. read more

We have been to Libbey's several times and are always greeted warmly by the hostess and staff. The food is very nice and always served quickly and hot and the staff are very efficient and courteous. The outside seating is great, as is the indoor tables. The rooms have very windows, I highly recommend Libby's! read more

In for a quick lunch, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a fantastic cup of their Cream of Crab soup with a tasty IPA. Visited Libbey's Coastal kitchen with our vendor we were visiting from Texas. The location was stellar as we watched ships right on the Chesapeake bay from our table. Service was excellent and atmosphere was casual. I had the crab cake sandwich which contains no fillers and filled with local Maryland sourced crabmeat. It was satisfying and filling for a lunch. Libby's Coastal Kitchen is perched right on the bay with a sunset view so good it almost makes you forget you're dining in the shadow of the Bay Bridge (emphasis on almost). Pro tip: sit facing west and pretend the bridge is a modern art installation. Mood improved. You can pull up by boat, but unless you're captaining something with teak decks and a brand name that sounds like a trust fund, expect to be directed to the "economy lot" of slips--with all the warmth of a MVA clerk. Fair warning: the docks aren't run by the restaurant, so maybe don't blame your server if your welcome committee is a little... salty. Food-wise? Solid bar/coastal fare. You're not going to have a spiritual experience over the crab dip, but it's reliable and the calamari are worth eating. Everything is satisfying, especially with a cold drink and that killer view. Nothing's ever been a flop, which in this category is a win. The staff? Friendly, but busy. They're hustling, so it helps if you know what you want. If you're into the "earn your cocktail" kind of service, you'll do great here. Overall, Libby's is worth the visit--and maybe a return trip once you've mentally prepared for the docking politics and picked your sunset selfie angle. read more

Sooo, Hemingways is gone. We are left with this. An anniversary dinner was less than memorable. We ordered and our salads was not delivered at the same time. Food was adequate, it seemed we were rushed. From the time we parked till we finished was less than an hour. The flies were fun to swat all meal long. Other than that, we won't return especially for a special occasion. We reserved on open table and announced it was our anniversary but there was no mention by hostess. There's no personal touch. Bring a fly swatter if you dare to travel over the bridge to Libbeys. read more
