    Booths and bar area.

This has become a go to place for us. I would call it a great value place. Food is consistently good, sometimes great and reasonably priced. Help is pleasant, ambience is very comfortable. One VERY NICE feature that I hope they don't change--it's not loud (65 dB). Music is playing, the place doesn't echo and is rarely crowded and so we can have a very comfortable conversation.

I've been here twice. Both times, the service felt a bit slow. The brunch I had was solid. For about $30pp we has waffles, eggs, grits and coffee between us for the first experience. I enjoyed it overall. Things came out fairly slow, but it was nice. The second time I ended up leaving without trying out lunch. I was at the bar for well over 10 minutes - no water/greeting etc. I like the decor, I hope they up the staff or find their groove. It has a lot of potential. This is in a plaza and worth stopping by if you're not on a tight schedule.

We dined at Cypress for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed our meal. Prices were fair and the food was decent. We would certainly dine here again.

    Trident special

Our waiter is friendly explained the menu. I ordered the seared salmon perfectly cooked. My friend order the trident special MUST have their crab cake. The crab & corn soup was phenomenal. The rib eye was good. Highly recommended.

That's herbed rice that's not a creamy risotto.

This was the former Sullivan cove. I do have hopes for Cypress but there are a few misses. The service was good the ambiance was what was expected nice bar area too. The crab chowder was decent as was the fig salad. My husband got the mahi tacos they were good. The seasoned fries are Meh. We prefer regular fries even boardwalk style the seasoned fries are ok if that's what you like. I ordered the GRILLED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM (GF & VGN) $24 Herbed risotto, charred tomatoes, asparagus, parsley walnut pesto. @cypress see photos that's not risotto it was an herbed rice. When I asked the waitstaff did they not have risotto ? She responded " that's risotto . Risotto is rice." No that's wrong. risotto is a creamy Arborio rice. This was so misleading and it was dry and off tasting. Please cypress fix the glitches. I really want this place to make it. We will go back and give it another try. The wine list is decent but the whole bottle wines are better choices that the by the glass doesn't offer.

Our waitress was Hayley. She recommend chicken prosciutto with apples, honey, arugula with garlic aioli. Sides we had were fries and tomato risotto. Appetizer was steak bites with horseradish sauce and goat cheese with balsamic on crostini. Every bite was amazing!!! They switch out their menus seasonally and the manager Joshua was so warm and friendly. We will be returning!!!

    Caprese pizza

I ordered the Caprese pizza which said nothing of balsamic and i hate balsamic so I would have said NO! See my photo of the menu...? Also my pizza tasted like a warmed up lunchable. I try to give benefit of the doubt but I just can't here. We were in a rush to pick up kids so i just ate it. My wife ordered the scallops and the polenta and spinach were cold. Again it was a rush so we ate and moved on. We ordered alcoholic drinks and never offered water - no bueno also! Reason for stars is service was good.

Breakfasts (eggs and such, haven't tried pancakes) are nothing special. Fresh half & half was appreciated, which they have. Stopped in recently and tried a panini and the lettuce wraps. Panini was very good. Fries that came with it were wet with grease... we didn't finish them. I feel like that's an oil temp issue but I'm no expert. Lettuce wraps sounded great on the menu but were served with dry flavorless chicken. Bland even with toppings provided. Didn't finish that dish either. The protein in lettuce wraps is supposed to be popping with flavor that shines through the lettuce and toppings. Not the case. I'll read through other reviews and try to find some gems. I love greasy spoons like this and I'm sure I'm just missing something. They have a large outdoor seating area when the weather is nice. Perhaps burgers and beers are in order.

The pre fixe menu seemed to provide a flavor of what the chef could offer although it wasn't their regular menu. We had the most delicious focaccia with strawberry butter, chicken nuggets and caviar with whipped cream fraiche (interesting combo) for starters, amazing steak frites and baked lobster gnocchi as mains, and fried cheesecake and red grocer for desserts. The staff were so nice and attentive despite a full restaurant and willing to make recommendations when requested. We will definitely be bank when it gets warmer to try the outdoor space!

I made reservations…read moreahead of time and specifically noted that it was for a birthday, so we were expecting a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had. Our waiter was extremely inattentive and confusing from the start. Several people at our table asked questions about a pasta dish that included meatballs and sausage, and none of us could get a straight explanation from him. He kept going around in circles trying to describe the dish, repeatedly mentioning there was a $2 difference depending on how many meatballs or sausage you received, but no one at the table could understand what he was actually explaining. In the end, both my sister and cousin basically gave up and just said, "Okay, whatever we want one meatball and one sausage." We later realized the "sausage" was actually ground sausage in the sauce -- not a sausage link as we had understood. He also repeatedly tried to upsell us on additional menu items we had clearly shown no interest in ordering. Instead of listening to what we actually wanted, it felt like he was more focused on pushing extra items onto the table. To make matters worse, my sister and cousin ordered the exact same dish, yet my sister received three meatballs while my cousin only received one. There was no explanation for the inconsistency. The service throughout the evening was terrible. Our waiter rarely checked on our table and disappeared for long stretches of time. We actually had to stop another employee walking by just to get boxes for our leftovers and a dessert menu. Meanwhile, the table next to us had a waitress who was attentive and constantly checking on them, which made the difference in service even more noticeable. At one point, our waiter mentioned they had a lot of walk-ins that evening. However, we had made reservations in advance for a birthday celebration, so that should not have affected the level of service we received. Even getting the check at the end took an unnecessarily long time after we finally managed to get his attention. Overall, the entire experience was disappointing, disorganized, and frustrating -- especially for what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner.
