Broadway Bistro is cozy, quaint and quite comfortable. Servers and waitress - very friendly and attentive. Soft warm bread arrives with an olive spread and table oil - a nice starter touch. Three in our party of five ordered from the "Restaurant Week Menu". Appetizers of Fresh Mozzarella & Tomato & Gorgonzola Stuffed Ravioli (2 orders) with fresh tarragon cream sauce were quite good - and sizable. The Pan Seared Cod Filet Entree (2 orders also) with mashed potatoes, white wine roasted garlic and cherry tomato was acceptable - nothing more. The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna was drenched in teriyaki to a fault and - ordered rare - a bit dry. The accompanying mashed potatoes, string beans and carrots were fine. To be mentioned these were generous offerings for a restaurant week menu. Ordered from the regular dinner menu - The Lemon Chicken (whipped potatoes with a lemon wine sauce) & Orecchiette Toscana (Sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, spinach, and mushrooms) while enjoyed did not truly stand out. Desserts should be ordered here. The Caramelized Apple Cheese Cake with fresh whipped cream and raspberry sauce (yes - part of RW Menu) was simply outstanding. I felt like I was transported to Amalfi Italy, outdoor dining on a warm summer night. This was my first visit and will absolutely return. The service (Thank you Patrick!) was exceptional. The mussels with saffron sauce was outstanding. The Flounder Filet was cooked perfectly with the dill orange sauce a delight. The poached pear with raspberry sorbet dessert sent me to the moon. My favorite restaurant in Nyack. I love watching my guests that my husband and I take to Nyack enjoy the phenomenal plates and relish each morsel. We also like the events they host like the wine tastings and holiday events. Everything on the menu is delicious, service is excellent and the chef/owner comes around to make sure diners are enjoying their meals. Stopping in at another Nyack locale, it may be that this village is growing into a potentially modest dining destination. Broadway Bistro seemed attractive from the street and Yelp. On a Sunday around 1 pm we were quickly seated. My better half ordered the salmon from the regular menu. I went with the 3-course prix fixe lunch for $20.95, and I was not disappointed. There were four choices each for appetizer, entree and dessert, and though I had one of each, I think you cannot go wrong with any based on my experience. I started with the Greek salad, a substantial serving of fresh, crisp greens, tomatoes with flavor and a healthy dose of feta. Maybe not exactly what you would get at a true Greek restaurant, but delicious nonetheless. My entree was cod over sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Piping hot, moist and meaty, the fish was flawless ( okay, it is cod, but "flawless" for sure.). The vegetables and mashed potatoes had their work cut out for them to keep up, but they held their own. My partner's salmon was absolutely perfectly cooked. Dessert was the strawberries with whipped cream, and they did it well. My fifth star is in reserve only for the wines by the glass choices, and I will tell you bluntly I am probably a tad harsh in that regard. So it really is five stars, but my idiosyncratic neuroses brings it down to four. Try Broadway Bistro and let me know if you think I am out to lunch. read more

The restaurant was intimate and the atmosphere is laid back. Lovely little bar up front. The lighting is subdued and the tables are laid out well so there is enough personal space. While it may sound odd to some I found the restroom clean and well maintained. I feel it reflects on an eatery's cleanliness and that is paramount when eating in any restaurant. The wait staff were very attentive but not overly so. The waitress took our orders after first pointing out the specials. Our waitress after taking our orders did a twenty second review to make sure she had our orders taken correctly. Some may find that redundant but I find it refreshingly indicative of the wait staffs desire to accurately submit their customers order. My wife and I were seated with six others. The restaurant was not overly crowded and service time with our orders was timely and appropriate. The wait staff took the time to answer all questions and a substitution on one of the entrees was not a problem. Everyone at the table was happy with the food but I will specifically speak about the food served to my wife and I. My wife and I had the Bistro Salad. The salad was ample, the ingredients of good quality, and the vinaigrette dressing was light and tasty. A salad appears to be a simple dish but the quality, plating, and taste of this salad showed that this eatery understands how it's done. The salads are in a word outstanding! My wife and I ordered the Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese, and Spinach Ravioli. We both felt that the presentation could have been done a bit better but we found the taste to be wondrous. We loved it! I ordered the Grilled Pork Chop with Tomato and Sage. The serving was generous, of fine quality, and prepared perfectly. I loathe places that overcook meat. My dish was accompanied by a medley of fresh mixed vegetables lightly seasoned and pleasing to the pallet. This dish was nonpareil. My wife had the Roasted Flounder Fillet. The fish was tasty and cooked to perfection. The Mediterranean Koshare it was served on was a stroke of genius! It tasted fantastic. I would have had it as an entree! I can only say WOW! My wife and I both had the Cheesecake for dessert. It was plated perfectly and tasted heavenly. Some cheesecakes are to dense and heavy. The cheesecake my wife and I had was amongst the best we have ever had. All in all this is a gem of a restaurant. My wife and I are going back and we encourage folks to really give this place a try. Ordered for delivery during quarantine. We have had similarly priced meals that we haven't been impressed with but we really were impressed with the quality of food here. Vegetables were fresh, my husband loved his fish entree, I enjoyed my steak, although less cooked than I requested. Everything seemed very freshly made with great flavors. Came here on a whim after walking around town looking at several different menus. So glad we chose this as our dining destination. From the outside it looks small, but inside is actually quite roomy, yet cozy. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Right off the bat we felt we made a good choice! The bread was delicious and the pesto dip that came with it made it hard to resist. For an appetizer I ordered the wild mushroom soup. Wow, that was so tasty, it didn't stand a chance! For the entree I ordered the orecchiette toscana which was also very nice. They did forget to add the sundried tomato, and unfortunately I didn't notice until halfway through so I'm sure with that ingredient it would have completed the dish. I was too full to eat any more by the time they added it. I tried a bit of my partners mashed potatoes and was a little thrown off by the added horseradish, so when we return if I happen to order a dish with mashed potatoes I hope I can request to have them horseradish free. Dessert was amazing, I ordered the beggers purse, I highly recommend! Waitstaff were excellent, very friendly and our glasses were never empty! Can't wait to go back! read more

My family and I made a reservation for 6:15, my dad and i got there on time and we had a party of 6. My sister, brother in law and their 2 kids were later than they had told me, but the hostess sat us anyway. Anyhow, 6:45 rolls around and in comes this very aggressive manger? Cook? Not sure who he was as he did not bother to say hello and introduce himself. He not so quietly states "You know your reservation was 6:15, it is now 6:45 and our kitchen is very busy." Long pause as if waiting for response or apology. Finally I break the silence. First thing that came in my head - space filller... "Ok." He says nothing else and storms off. Now my sister gets there late as shit, I admit it, that was wrong, but he handled that so unprofessionally. He had so many options, like quietly saying, "ma'am, I'm so sorry but because your party isn't here yet we have to ask you to return another night." Or a question, "Ma'am, when do you expect the rest of your party?" Or the hostess could've not seated us in the first place and said we had to wait or come back another night, which would've been fine. I would understand. Instead they were just all weirdly passive aggressive all night. Dirty looks to my sister when she came in. Random runners and waitstaff eyeing us down. If my dad wasn't so laid back I would've left. Waitress did a good job once she composed herself, quick service and if she was still annoyed by us she did her best to hide it, so I tipped her. And hey, this is a string of things that will probably not apply to you as nearly everyone on the planet is more timely than my sister but I can't just let that disrespect go, so with that said... not sure how this is so highly rated..you yelpers have done me wrong! started off badly and should have known to bail. i asked about the dishes and waiter couldn't explain them and had to ask for help from another waiter. im not One to judge but this is supposed to be a fine dining establishment and the waiter had no teeth! The bread was stale. I ordered a steak and it came out almost all fat. My friend ordered orange chicken which had no taste at all and was bland. I guess the chef saw I didn't eat my dish and came out and asked what's wrong? I showed him how much fat was on the steak and he said i should've sent it back earlier. it was an awkward experience and i just wanted it over . My husband and I celebrated my birthday here last night, and the food and service was impeccable. First, I need to eat gluten free and this was one of the most accommodating restaurants. They had a diverse menu that was GF (including GF pasta for all dishes), and the chef sent out gluten free crackers to replace my bread. Second, my husband and I loved everything we ate. I'd been travelling alone for a little birthday R&R and wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner. Everyone was very kind and attentive to me as a single diner. The chef even came by and introduced himself. I ordered the Mozzarella and Roasted Tomato appetizer from the restaurant week menu and the Lobster and Fennel Ravioli from the regular dinner menu. Everything was delicious!!! I didn't want anything from the dessert menu but my waitress still brought out a scoop of ice cream with a candle for me and sang "happy birthday". I selected this attractive eatery in Nyack, based on previous Yelp! reviews, most of which were spot on. It was pretty quiet on a Monday night, and the acoustics were not a challenge. The décor and service were first rate. As for the cuisine, three of us ordered pasta; two had fish. My wife's horseradish crusted flounder was slightly sweet, crunchy, and delicious. My sister, who was visiting from Oregon, was served an enormous piece of Salmon over Mashed Potatoes, in a Sweet Red Pepper Coulis sauce. The fish wasn't from the Pacific NW, but she enjoyed it, immensely ... especially since we were treating! lol Kudos to the bartender, who mixed me a wonderfully potent Margarita, made with fresh lime juice. The wait staff were super attentive throughout our meal, frequently topping off our water glasses. I have found this to be a rarity in all but the very best NJ restaurants. Coming from an Italian to the owner who is not, this is not Italian food. Pork chop dry and overcooked, avocados in salad had rot marks, $42 veal chop was raw and the in-house pasta was old and dried out. Over $131 of a bill and when we demanded to speak with the manager, the owner / chef came over and did not want to do anything to make this right. In fact, he commented and disagreed with my feedback on 4 of the items we ordered and abruptly left ourselves at the table; so much for the customer being right. I guess being short staffed in the kitchen was more important than our dining experience, which was ruined not only by his re heated old food, but his horrible attitude toward a customer. Never have I wrote a review like this before, but after I'm told a $42 pork chop that was raw at the bone, should be cooked that way, I couldn't not do the right thing to warn others. I could only thank this place for fulfilling my request not to pay for my son's old pasta which saved me $9. On that, I was told he couldn't have fettuccine because it is a dry pasta. Really?!? Maybe a culinary term I'm not familiar with. Spend your money elsewhere and to the kind waiter, I hope the owner tipped you. A customer should never be treated like this. We are locals and had been here when they first opened and decided to try it again. We came here on a rather busy recent Friday night and decided to sit at the bar since the tables were mostly full. The bar area is small but attractive, located at the very front of the restaurant with views of the downtown area. There is a very limited selection of beers on tap, which is disappointing. The bartender was friendly and accommodating, but in the end, the service was a little uneven. I ordered the grilled rib-eye steak and my girlfriend chose the eggplant parm. We also shared a caesar salad to start. They brought out some bread and a pesto dipping sauce. The sauce was fresh and tasty but the bread was unremarkable at best, which is never a good way to start a meal. The caesar salad was quite good, however. My steak entree was tasty and cooked how I ordered it. But it was hardly a 'grilled' steak. It didn't even seem broiled or pan-fried but looked to be more steamed than anything. It was accompanied by flavorful horseradish mashed potatoes and some fresh veggies. The big problem was with her eggplant parm. It was cold and my girlfriend had to send it back...something she very rarely does. The bartender informed us that they were going to make a brand new dish for her, since the cook was a 'perfectionist', so it would take a little while. When it finally arrived it was hot and she enjoyed it very much. Still, we ended up not dining 'together' as a result. Serving cold food is just inexcusable in a nice restaurant and really put a downer on the whole experience. On another side note, while we were waiting patiently for her second dinner to arrive, my girfriend ordered a refill on her soda. Under the circumstances, the very least they should have done was to not charge her for the refill of her soda. Well, they failed to do even the very least. If they are looking for perfection, there are several areas that need improvement. I see no compelling reason to return to Broadway Bistro. read more

For an appetizer, we had the Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese and Spinach Ravioli - very tasty. My wife had the Terrine of Eggplant and Chicken Parmesan, and loved it. I had the Grilled Rib-eye Steak - again, very good. Service was terrific - all the staff were very warm and friendly, and our waiter (sorry, I think his name was Thomas? It's been 3 months) was excellent - prompt, attentive, friendly, informative. The decor is nothing to write home about - just a simple storefront space, but neat and clean and comfortable enough.
