Visited on a Wednesday morning around 8 a.m. There was plenty of parking, and it wasn't very crowded. There was also plenty of room for a stroller. As a parent, I probably wouldn't plan to stay long with my kids. I didn't notice any high chairs, and most of the customers seemed to be working on laptops, so it felt more geared toward adults looking for a quiet place to work than families with young children. I ordered a hot vanilla latte, half sweet. I'm glad I requested half sweet because it was still fairly sweet. My sister ordered the iced Miel and also thought it was good, though on the sweeter side. I didn't see any bakery items available, but there was signage indicating that food could be ordered. The service was fine, prices seemed typical for a local coffee shop, and the coffee was ok, though nothing particularly stood out to me. I was throughly impressed with my coffee! I love an iced latte where you can actually taste the coffee and not just a cup of milk. I ordered a small ice latte with bourbon caramel and it was delicious. The service was quick and each barista was friendly and did a lovely job with the coffee's. It's very spacious inside, so if you want to bring your computer or meet for coffee, it's the perfect place. The employees were very friendly and it had a nice vibe. I ordered an iced latte (the large has 4 shots of espresso) with their house made vanilla and housemade Carmel bourbon syrup with almond milk. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the espresso or syrup in the drink so the entire thing seemed like I was sipping almond milk. I can only assume I got the caffeine that I so desperately needed. I have been a few times and never had a truly spectacular drink. Spacious interior seating with a quiet, shaded exterior patio. It's a great place to relax, read or get some work done, as they have free WiFi. I ordered their summer special, The Boardwalk, a cold brew with salted coconut cold foam--it was perfect: strong, not too sweet, and also pretty to look at. The baristas are always friendly, too. I'm new to Louisville, and this has become a trusted go-to spot. My only wish is that they had more savory and gluten-free food options, like avocado toast or breakfast burritos. read more

We love Quills Coffee! We don't live here, but if we did, this would be our regular coffee spot. We've been in Louisville for a few days, and you've come here every day. The people at the register and the ones who call your name for your drinks and food are very friendly. My husband loves their iced cold brew, and I love hot chai tea. We also ate the lemon blueberries, scone, and maple bacon scone, but I forgot to take pictures of them, so check out my picture of the case with all the scone options. Attention, all the people with Fur babies: You can bring your dog inside and even get a treat at the register. There are tons of seating options: regular-height tables and chairs with benches along one of the walls under their cool art. Solid place to get coffee in Louisville! The inside is concrete and modern, very trendy. This is definitely a hipster coffee shop vibe. The service was fast and friendly. I don't remember the prices but that probably means they were very reasonable. The food looked great, my colleague said her coffee and croissant were awesome. I had the chai tea latte - thankful they do offer alternative milk for an up charge. I'm lactose intolerant and so being able to still find something I can drink is great. Tbh - not the biggest fan of their CTL. It was mixed like halfway so the top had clumps of powder floating around still. Not sure if this is intentional or not... either way I didn't really care for their specific chai. Lots of seating inside if you want to get work done. Atmosphere is busy but relaxed. This place was in walking distance to my Airbnb and it was amazing! I went back everyday. They have pastries and a small breakfast menu. They also make all their own syrups. Great place overall! Roasts their own beans and makes their own syrups. As far as lattes go, would give it the 5/5 stars. The largest size is a quad shot which I always appreciate. No burnt taste and the salted carmel syrup was fantastic. I didn't have the drip or plan espresso, so it's hard to give an overall assessment of the coffee. Seems like a nice place to meet up or get some studying done. Off a busier road but still would make the trip! I met up with a friend here on a Saturday morning around 9am. There was no line, and I was able to place an order right away. Since I planned to stay awhile, I was happy to see that Quills offers ceramic coffee cups (one size only). I ordered a decaf Americano, and I have to say that it was delicious. Hot, perfect flavor profile, and just the thing for a cold February morning. For what it's worth, I also had a plain, toasted bagel with cream cheese. The cream cheese came in a small container with a plastic knife. I did notice that after the bagel cooled down, it became as solid as a rock. Almost like it came from a petrified forest and with the minuscule amount of cream cheese that I was able to scrape over the its crusty surface, it was inedible! I'm guessing that the bagel dried out during the toasting process, and when it cooled off, all of its moisture escaped it. (Or it could have been baked the week before, who knows.) I would NOT order a toasted bagel again, but the coffee was to die for! read more

Friends and I visited Louisville for the weekend and we walk across this place. As newbies to the city, we had trouble finding the inside as we came down the side street.
