Excellent coffee, friendly service, relaxed artsy vibe. The espresso chocolate chip scone was an amazing sweet treat with our coffee.

Excellent service, coffee and sweet treat. Definitely returning during our visit. Art forward vibe with a relaxed ambiance.

Great coffee and syrup selection. My dad (who hates sweet coffee) loved the salted bourbon caramel flavor!

My family of 4 had a great experience today - and based on the crowd inside and out, we weren't the only ones. This location offers a lot of seating and I was so thankful for the shade outside. My iced pumpkin latte was yummy and my husband felt the same for his hot version. My son was craving hot chocolate and his hit the spot. Service was friendly. It took some waiting for the drinks but worth it for the level of crafting the mixtures. Street parking easy to find.

Quills has been one of my favorite roasters for a long time. I was introduced to it through Drink Trade coffee subscription and Quills was a highly recommended place to order coffee from. The Inkwell roast became my new favorite and I still enjoy ordering it. I live in Iowa and I'm currently here for a concert this weekend and knew Quills would be my first stop on my adventures. This location is so cute, open and spacious. I love the outdoor seating options as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful! Thank you for bringing my coffee experience full circle! :)

I am a sucker for foam so I got a second drink with just milk and brambleberry foam. During this foam craze (2025) in coffee shops, this is hands down the best foam I've had so far. Plus the staff was accommodating and understanding of how much I appreciated it! Come to Quills coffee where their decorations match the season (I came a little after Halloween) and the mascot is super cute!

Service was great! There's plenty of places to sit inside the cafe. Our drinks hit the spot and if we were hungrier, those pastries looked really good.

The employees were very friendly and it had a nice vibe. I ordered an iced latte (the large has 4 shots of espresso) with their house made vanilla and housemade Carmel bourbon syrup with almond milk. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the espresso or syrup in the drink so the entire thing seemed like I was sipping almond milk. I can only assume I got the caffeine that I so desperately needed. I have been a few times and never had a truly spectacular drink. I think this was the last time I'll visit and I'll look for another local coffee spot that has a strong enough espresso that you can enjoy it.

Tiktok made me do it and didn't disappoint! Quills Coffee is such a gem! Located right in the middle of town, it has a great vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect spot to relax or get a little work done. I had a cortado and a croissant--both were spot on. The cortado was perfectly balanced and paired beautifully with the buttery, flaky croissant. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

    Plenty of outdoor seating

It is 1,000% justified that this is a popular local chain. The coffee is consistently good at every location. This was my first visit to the NuLu spot, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Spacious interior seating with a quiet, shaded exterior patio. It's a great place to relax, read or get some work done, as they have free WiFi. I ordered their summer special, The Boardwalk, a cold brew with salted coconut cold foam--it was perfect: strong, not too sweet, and also pretty to look at. The baristas are always friendly, too. I'm new to Louisville, and this has become a trusted go-to spot. My only wish is that they had more savory and gluten-free food options, like avocado toast or breakfast burritos.

We love Quills Coffee! We don't live here, but if we did, this would be our regular coffee spot. We've been in Louisville for a few days, and you've come here every day. The people at the register and the ones who call your name for your drinks and food are very friendly. My husband loves their iced cold brew, and I love hot chai tea. We also ate the lemon blueberries, scone, and maple bacon scone, but I forgot to take pictures of them, so check out my picture of the case with all the scone options. Attention, all the people with Fur babies: You can bring your dog inside and even get a treat at the register. There are tons of seating options: regular-height tables and chairs with benches along one of the walls under their cool art. Also, a high-top table and chairs run through the center of the whole shop, and then is an outdoor patio in the back.

My coffee was delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was chill! It was super busy when I went, but got in and out in under 10 minutes.

It's actually open on Sundays too. It's a quaint and quiet little slice of paradise especially when nothing else is open in the area. This coffee place is attached to an inner hotel and office building complex. We are wandering and did not park. An individual usually walks by here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offer many different options for a small snack. They have coffee and chai type of beverages. If you want a smoothie they have that option in many different flavors. If you want to sit for a while the lobby is pretty nice. The outside seating area is clean and organized. This one was a short walk from the Gault Hotel on the first floor of the PNC Office building. It has a very reasonably priced assortment of coffee beverages, breakfast and lunch options. We saw quite a few office workers there today, but they cleared out by 9 AM, no doubt hitting their offices and cubicles upstairs. We each ordered a scone -Cinnamon Streusel and Cheddar Chive. They were offered warm or cold, we both asked for a heated version, and we picked up our order from the counter in ten minutes or so. We each had a brewed coffee, but it was very impressive to see how deep their coffee menu was, several strengths of brewed, plus, Au Lait, Red Eye, Americano, Espresso, Machiatto, Cortado, Latte, Cappuccino, Lattes, and Mochas. Ever hear of a Salty Turtle Latte? Well, you can get one here with cappuccino milk, sea salt and caramel sauce. We had a very enjoyable and inexpensive breakfast in their large and comfortable dining area. PRO TIP They have a children's menu with the adorable name of Tiny Heines!

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
