After searching for a coffee shop close to the hotel I found this wonderful place open super early in the morning and I can run from the hotel there. It's like a block away. That was perfect. They were very friendly and they were able to accommodate my necessities by getting a big cop for my two shadow espresso to add my protein
The iced vanilla latte was perfection. It was clear that they use quality coffee in their drinks. It was the perfect blend of coffee, milk, and a touch of vanilla to make a truly phenomenal latte. We sat and enjoyed our coffee on the back patio. It was the perfect place to spend a Saturday morning.
I was throughly impressed with my coffee! I love an iced latte where you can actually taste the coffee and not just a cup of milk. I ordered a small ice latte with bourbon caramel and it was delicious. The service was quick and each barista was friendly and did a lovely job with the coffee's. It's very spacious inside, so if you want to bring your computer or meet for coffee, it's the perfect place. I also loved that the back had a nice patio so you could sit out there and sip your coffee. Very cute.

My family of 4 had a great experience today - and based on the crowd inside and out, we weren't the only ones. This location offers a lot of seating and I was so thankful for the shade outside. My iced pumpkin latte was yummy and my husband felt the same for his hot version. My son was craving hot chocolate and his hit the spot. Service was friendly. It took some waiting for the drinks but worth it for the level of crafting the mixtures. Street parking easy to find.
I am a sucker for foam so I got a second drink with just milk and brambleberry foam. During this foam craze (2025) in coffee shops, this is hands down the best foam I've had so far. Plus the staff was accommodating and understanding of how much I appreciated it! Come to Quills coffee where their decorations match the season (I came a little after Halloween) and the mascot is super cute!
Quills has been one of my favorite roasters for a long time. I was introduced to it through Drink Trade coffee subscription and Quills was a highly recommended place to order coffee from. The Inkwell roast became my new favorite and I still enjoy ordering it. I live in Iowa and I'm currently here for a concert this weekend and knew Quills would be my first stop on my adventures. This location is so cute, open and spacious. I love the outdoor seating options as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful! Thank you for bringing my coffee experience full circle! :)
Service was great! There's plenty of places to sit inside the cafe. Our drinks hit the spot and if we were hungrier, those pastries looked really good.
The employees were very friendly and it had a nice vibe. I ordered an iced latte (the large has 4 shots of espresso) with their house made vanilla and housemade Carmel bourbon syrup with almond milk. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the espresso or syrup in the drink so the entire thing seemed like I was sipping almond milk. I can only assume I got the caffeine that I so desperately needed. I have been a few times and never had a truly spectacular drink. I think this was the last time I'll visit and I'll look for another local coffee spot that has a strong enough espresso that you can enjoy it.
Tiktok made me do it and didn't disappoint! Quills Coffee is such a gem! Located right in the middle of town, it has a great vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect spot to relax or get a little work done. I had a cortado and a croissant--both were spot on. The cortado was perfectly balanced and paired beautifully with the buttery, flaky croissant. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
It is 1,000% justified that this is a popular local chain. The coffee is consistently good at every location. This was my first visit to the NuLu spot, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Spacious interior seating with a quiet, shaded exterior patio. It's a great place to relax, read or get some work done, as they have free WiFi. I ordered their summer special, The Boardwalk, a cold brew with salted coconut cold foam--it was perfect: strong, not too sweet, and also pretty to look at. The baristas are always friendly, too. I'm new to Louisville, and this has become a trusted go-to spot. My only wish is that they had more savory and gluten-free food options, like avocado toast or breakfast burritos.
We love Quills Coffee! We don't live here, but if we did, this would be our regular coffee spot. We've been in Louisville for a few days, and you've come here every day. The people at the register and the ones who call your name for your drinks and food are very friendly. My husband loves their iced cold brew, and I love hot chai tea. We also ate the lemon blueberries, scone, and maple bacon scone, but I forgot to take pictures of them, so check out my picture of the case with all the scone options. Attention, all the people with Fur babies: You can bring your dog inside and even get a treat at the register. There are tons of seating options: regular-height tables and chairs with benches along one of the walls under their cool art. Also, a high-top table and chairs run through the center of the whole shop, and then is an outdoor patio in the back.
Ok Quills Coffee is not your average coffee place ! It's got a place to gather in the back and enjoy nature . Trees and brick buildings and all! The garden type environment! Love the energy here ! The coffee and the pricing is way too great. A coffee for less than 5.00 a cup! Nice right! Keep it up right ! The building was a prior fire house and has free masonry connections too. Circa 1893 vibes! The customer service is amazing! In fact this coffee establishment has at leave 5 coffee shops in Kentucky and one in Indianapolis, Indiana. So they are doing well! Come here and have coffee now. read more
Visited on a Wednesday morning around 8 a.m. There was plenty of parking, and it wasn't very crowded. There was also plenty of room for a stroller. As a parent, I probably wouldn't plan to stay long with my kids. I didn't notice any high chairs, and most of the customers seemed to be working on laptops, so it felt more geared toward adults looking for a quiet place to work than families with young children. I ordered a hot vanilla latte, half sweet. I'm glad I requested half sweet because it was still fairly sweet. My sister ordered the iced Miel and also thought it was good, though on the sweeter side. I didn't see any bakery items available, but there was signage indicating that food could be ordered. The service was fine, prices seemed typical for a local coffee shop, and the coffee was ok, though nothing particularly stood out to me. The biggest advantage of this location was how easy it was to park and access, especially with kids or a stroller. read more

Really good specialty coffee experience in Louisville! Ordered their Gayo Natural Sumatra and it was tasty. Also ordered their Ethiopian drip. Service was quick. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a cool industrial vibe. Would highly recommend read more

Quills Coffee has a few locations scattered around town and this location in Nulu has quite the vibe. This place is pretty big... It mixes together a modern, industrial indoor space with a whimsy outdoor space with string lights and no matter what you're in the mood for, there's a seat here for you. If you're coming here to work like I did, you're all set. There's easy parking out front, the wifi is strong, and there were plenty of outlets for me to plug in my laptop. Everything I needed. Whether you're coming here to work or not, one thing is for certain. They have all the coffee, tea, and even kombucha you may need. Just in case you end up needing a snack... They have a small menu of food options as well. They even have a coffee subscription so you never run out at home. They've pretty much checked off all the boxes. read more

Loved the iced salted bourbon caramel latte, so good! Definitely my favorite coffee during my visit to Louisville. I didn't love the cinnamon roll, though, it was really dry. Service was fast and friendly and it is a huge shop, plenty of seating. I think there's even an outdoor courtyard. read more

The service was quick and friendly. We ordered a cappuccino and a latte with an eggnog gingerbread scone. The drinks were great but served in a to go cup, not a mug. We enjoyed them and the scone had a lot of flavor, but the textures were not there. Definitely a great place to get your morning coffee vibes read more

After attending a Hands Off Rally downtown I decided to stop by for a cup of coffee. Service was friendly. The coffee was hot and fresh and the ambiance serene. It's an old fire house converted into a coffee shop in the NuLu neighborhood just east of downtown. Do note that it's street parking only but you can find a number of parking spaces on Main Street or the cross streets(free). read more
Great place overall! Roasts their own beans and makes their own syrups. As far as lattes go, would give it the 5/5 stars. The largest size is a quad shot which I always appreciate. No burnt taste and the salted carmel syrup was fantastic. I didn't have the drip or plan espresso, so it's hard to give an overall assessment of the coffee. Seems like a nice place to meet up or get some studying done. Off a busier road but still would make the trip! Bought a bag of the Blackstone beans that they use for espresso so I can try them out on my home machine! read more
Really cool coffee shop with high quality flavorful drink options. The interior is spacious with a minimalist and funky vibe. The seating area in the back is cool and would look great at night with all the hanging lights. The service was super friendly and helpful with our questions. I love quills. They have the best coffee in NULU imo. I usually just get it to go, but today I decided to hang around and work on some thing s on my laptop. I have a new laptop, so I'm sure it wasn't my computer. Their wifi is REALLY slow. Definitely not the place to sit and work all day on your computer if you have lots of browsers to open.
