Sadly, although our first visit was good, our second experience was awful. We had back-to-back appointments for two cats. I understood missing the first appointment due to the late policy, but refusing the second appointment with no reasonable explanation felt completely unfair. We were running late due to a broken carrier and arrived 16 minutes after the first appointment time. On our way there, they called to inform us about their 10-minute late cancellation policy. I asked if we could at least still have our second cat checked during the second appointment slot since we had already traveled so far. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and coldly said no, claiming "that's our policy." She offered no further explanation or accommodation as to why we couldn't attend an appointment that we were actually 14 minutes early for. ​When we arrived at the clinic frustrated, we spoke to the same woman from the phone. I explained a little frustrated but still in a calm voice, "I understand why we missed the first appointment, but why can't we still see the vet for the second one?" I also explained that our second carrier had failed, forcing us to make a makeshift one. Instead of listening, the front desk receptionist accused us of being rude and walked into the back room. From there, we could hear her falsely accusing us of cursing at her, being aggressive, and threatening her. ​Taken aback by these wild accusations, we started recording the interaction. She then came back out and tried to invent excuses for why we couldn't be seen. First, she claimed we were 40 minutes late--which was a lie, it had only been 16 minutes. When we called her out, she shifted to another excuse, claiming we had never been to the clinic before. When we called out that lie, she claimed we hadn't sent over our cats' medical records--ALSO a lie, as we sent them exactly when requested. Finally, she argued that there were sick animals that needed help. While that is completely fair, we asked how that impacted our second scheduled appointment, which wasn't for another 15 minutes. She had no response. ​Instead, she went back into the office and claimed we were shouting at her. I refuted this, pointing out that we were recording and clearly just calmly explaining our frustration. At that point, they kicked us out. Awful. Did not try to make dog comfortable, just started chasing her with instruments. Held her down really hard for basic checkup which she'd be fine with unrestrained. It's like they'd never interacted with a dog before. Injured her trying to clip nails and blamed her for not continuing to hold still - I heard her screaming in the back and they didn't even finish one paw. She was limping for two days. They said something about needing 4 staff to hold her down?? She's 45 lbs and doesn't struggle unless she's being tortured... Gave her wrong vaccine (not due for 2 years) and neglected to give her the one she needed. They insisted and said they "triple-checked" her records when I expressed confusion. Did not provide the preventatives we discussed at length during our visit. Front desk yelled at me to stay in exam room after vet told me to go out and pay. On top of all this, I've emailed three times and not heard back. My dog is 4 years old and never had any issues with vets or groomers etc. She was terrified here. I love this veterinary hospital, they are amazing!! I moved to Seattle in January 2021, right after I found out from my previous vet that my cat Ramona has hyperthyroidism. Broadway Veterinary Hospital was able to see us right after we moved for bloodwork and a check in relieving a lot of stress my wife and I felt after moving, changing jobs and finding out our animal had this disease. Shortly after we noticed some odd behavior from our older senior cat and they were able to fit us in for a last minute appointment to make sure that nothing really serious was going on. Poor Jude had a broken tooth and was in need of some serious dental work. Thankfully they have these amazing Care Companion plans that made things really affordable for us! He has two teeth removed, a deep cleaning, a few check ups, x-rays on his hips and a full years worth of flea medication and we are actually able to afford it even though I currently work part-time. I appreciate that Broadway Veterinary goes above and beyond for their clients, that they check in to see how things are progressing and answer my questions in a timely and friendly manner. We have taken our cat to Broadway Vet twice now and both experiences have been amazing! The vet technicians and doctors are always so kind and knowledgeable! They really take time to listen to you and understand your concerns. The office is super inviting and just has a great vibe overall! They also very gentle with our cat which we appreciate. The vet technicians have such a clear love for animals and I always have felt welcomed and comfortable with them. Dr. K was very thorough with his diagnosing when we brought our cat in and checked for lots of different things during his exam which gave me great peace of mind. Our 3 year old cat Luna was suffering badly. She was sleeping all day, not eating and very lethargic. We took her to Broadway Veterinary Hospital on 4/18/18 and she had fever of 105 with bad infection. Dr. Angela Rawlings and her staff were kind, gentle, understanding & professional. Tests were done and antibiotic administered along with hydration shots. Meg at front desk and Peter, Dr. Rawlings assistant, called and updated us as test results came in. It was a very difficult few days. We love our cat and felt helpless. **Luna is now perky and eating and almost back to her old self. I promised my new baby bunny Bon Bon a wonderful life and that no matter what, I promised to take care of her. As months pass, I noticed her eye changing to a lighter shade of brown until one day a white mass started to develop in her cornea. My poor baby!! Bon Bon's daddy has a shop next to Broadway Vet and made an appointment and during that visit we found out it was a parasite! Oh nooo!!! The nurses and the doctor were beyond helpful and caring the moment we stepped in, through the process of medication and the decision of the removal of the eye. Ok. Bon Bon goes under anesthesia and I get a call that "she" is actually a "HE"!! Oops... How embarrassing. Anyway, I pick HIM up the same day, eye removed and neutered (jokes insert here, but I know that it would have been better in the long run). The nurses made him a wittle pirate eye patch with wittle carrots on it!!!! I swear, when I say beyond, they went to the moon and back for Bon Bon! I've been working with eyes (for humans) for 9 years, caring for patients which include enucleations as well, and they not only took care of my bunny but they also reminded me of patient care. My cat was starving to death because I could not get Broadway Veterinary Hospital to spend two minutes to send me a food prescription. The cat was initially prescribed Hills c/d, which he wouldn't eat. Two and a half weeks ago, he had calcium oxalate stones surgically removed from his bladder and needed a urinary-safe food. I called BVH on Friday morning to ask if I could please get another type of food for him. His surgeon at Blue Pearl had suggested Royal Canin SO. I could not speak to a vet. I called several times after that and was told they were busy every time. Near the end of the day I said, "I'm afraid I'm going to go into the weekend and he's still not going to have anything he'll eat." They assured me they had Saturday hours. Saturday afternoon I finally got a call back from the relief vet. He agreed to email me a scrip for the Royal Canin, saying, "We have your address on file." He read off an address that was one letter off. After the call ended I realized that this wasn't my email address, which has my middle initial in it. I emailed BVH to clarify what my actual email was, in case he hadn't just misread it but it had been copied into my file incorrectly. I eventually got a note back confirming that they now had my correct email. You know what wasn't attached to that reply? A food prescription. At this point I'd been force-feeding my cat with a pill syringe for several days. On Sunday I headed down to Urban Animal with my cat's medical records. They were able to sell me a bag of Royal Canin SO on the spot. They assured me that if he wouldn't eat that either, I could return the bag. On Monday I finally got the scrip for food from BVH. I replied I had a new vet and would be returning the bag of Hills c/d on Tuesday. Today I got a call from BVH telling me not to bother bringing it back because they don't take returns. Okay, I'll donate it to the Seattle Animal Shelter. And I'll just leave this here. read more

I really liked my experience here with my 5-week old kitten. They were very accommodating to both me and my little baby. It's been really difficult with all the changes right now with my kitten given that his previous owners didn't care for him. My dog hates it here and I hate it here. Front desk is unprofessional and rude and if you ask them a direct question they can't answer in a manner that is helpful. Doctor came in, a new one and my dog who is already fearful of coming here after being spade here. She did nothing to comfort or approach my dog in a welcome manner, no treats, but certainly lectured me on her species as to being at fault to being scared. When I told her it was her memory of being spade she told me there's no way she could've remembered. That's fine but unnecessary. Had to hold my own dog down because she had no idea how to approach my dog. Then after I charged pretty steep for the service. Also, inforcing masks when the mandate is lifted with no clear reasons doesn't do well for overall feeling of this place. I am allowed to ask why and would like to hear your philosophy but when I'm answered "Should there be a reason?" Only reinforces what I feel overall about this place. Clearly we are not a great fit. There's no need to be this stressed to see a vet and after this experience, I'm sure there will be vets of a higher caliber that will treat their clients and pets with better care and answer questions in a mature manner! read more

I went to Broadway Vet for years before ownership changed. After ownership changed, I found the staff unprofessional and unhelpful, and the advertising misleading. A few things: 1. This is not a 24-hour emergency vet, despite extensive advertising. The fact that they are advertising this service really worries me, because if animals are having an actual emergency, it's important to get them to a doctor ASAP. People and pets could lose critical time taking their dogs here only to find out they don't provide 24-hour emergency services. Of everything this practice does, I think this advertising is the most harmful and worrisome. 2. Last summer my dog had an anal gland abscess that we treated at an emergency vet. The day after it was removed, my dog was in extreme pain, and we needed to get him pain medicine as soon as possible. The emergency vet was willing to call a local vet to give them the information needed and the prescription, but Broadway Vet refused to fill it, because we hadn't brought our dog in for a full exam in over a year. They claimed they had no record of him in their system, and yet over a year later, I keep getting emails from them reminding me to bring him in for various services (we now take him to Urban Animal for all his regular care). It kills me that we brought in a dog in pain, and they refused to help him in any way. I can't imagine people who truly care about animals doing that. Thankfully, Urban Animal filled the prescription for our dog instead. 3. When I did take my dog to Broadway Vet regularly, they charged me for a full exam every time my dog came in, and then had him come in for his regular annual exam on top of that. At Urban Animal, they look at the records to see how recently he had an exam, and don't do one if he doesn't need it. read more

In 1996 there was a huge outbreak in feral kitties outside my mothers place on Westlake. It was horrifying really, but I ended up with the Mookie - The Bad Mamajama - out of the deal. He fetched, he thought I was his mama. He slept on my arm and when the baby showed up, he loved him enough to be drug around by the tail with no complaints. Last year the kidneys on the BEST CAT EVER failed. He spent a while in Access (read - emergency vet, total 4 GRAND), and then got to come home. Which was a small miracle because motherhood had distracted me from his well being and the hub was all "he's fine" every time I said something about how skinny he was getting. He was really far gone. I took him to Broadway Vet for the aftercare part and it was the best thing I could have done. Mary, who works at the front desk, is the most caring, big lovey mama I have ever met. The sound of her voice instantly washed away the grief and guilt I was feeling, if only for our visit. The vet that took care of him is gone now, but was amazing. When it was time to let him go they referred me to a doc who would come to our house so he wouldn't have to be scared. -------------- Recently, another little pipsqueak feral somebody showed up on my porch - she obviously saw the freaking Cat Signal flying above my house. Here we go again. I tried taking her to Rainier Vet because Yelpers said it was a good place and a good deal. I waited an hour in that dark, stinky, little waiting room before I gave Mary a call. "Hi Mary, this is Dlight." "Oh! Dlight! How are you?!" "Fine. Apparently I have a new cat. I have been sitting here at Ghetto Vet for an hour now and it's not looking good, do you think I can get in sometime today?" "I can get you in right now." $84 for exam, deworming, flea treatment, KMR, bottle and some kitten food - Mary love free to all. read more

The priority of this clinic is to bill. The care of the animals is not the motivating factor. I was quoted one price and then charged another. I was told some food I should let my cat try was free and then I was charged. But worst of all I brought my healthy cat who trusted me dearly into this clinic. They pulled 10 of his teeth. They said they would only pull a few. The trauma caused him to hyper salivate and stop eating. I took him back two times claiming he wasn't right. They charged me full price sent me home with new pills and some wet food. Later that night, he could no longer stand and had to be rushed to the emergency room. He died two days later. So $5,000 dollars later my formerly healthy cat was dead. These people broke my heart. Please do not go there. read more

I've been taking my puppy there since I got her and the staff has treated me well and the care they have provided has been excellent but at a cost that is to say bluntly, unethical. We all love our pets so when the vet tells us it's going to cost "X" amount of dollars to take care of them we typically ask where to sign without a second thought. Well I signed the "OK to treat" form when I dropped off my pup but then looked into what other vets charge when I got to work (didn't help that they provided me the estimate I requested months ago right when I dropped my dog off) and what I found out enraged me...I'm getting charged three times the amount my old family vet charges for the same operation!!!! Their response when I confronted them with this information was, "Well we provide superior care for your money." I honestly don't know what kind of superior care they can provide for $400 more then my long time family vet in the south sound charges. I hate to worry about money when it comes to my pet but I had to draw the line with this last trip. From now on I'll drive my dog to a vet 30 miles away for her visits to a vet that provides superior care and at the same time doesn't rip me off. That's just the beginning too...I won't even get into detail about the guilt-trip looks I get when I can't perform the elective care because I need to pay rent to keep a roof over both our heads... I believe they truly care about the health of your pet and do provide "superior care" but I also believe they care little about the impact their overly high prices has on the owners pocket book and the rotten position it puts us in.....our pet VS $$$. We took our cats here in Autumn 2010. We had adopted a kitten, and our older cat needed shots. They were really friendly, especially the fellow at the front desk. We were told that the kitten had worms. Not because they did a fecal test for worms, but because the vet had read a peer-reviewed article that found all cats had worms. They did the first round of shots for the kitten, and we figured that we wouldn't have the cat treated for worms until Older Cat was, as they'd just reinfect each other. OK. We schedule an appointment for 9:30AM November 26, 2010, a month later. How do I know this? Because it was right after Thanksgiving. They asked us if we were sure we wanted this date, and we replied yes, because it was the only time that both of us were off from work. We don't have a car, so taking the cats required walking. Well, it turns out we weren't the only ones off from work. It had snowed. We walked our cats fortunately only five blocks in the cold. Get to the front door, and the sign says "Closed for the Holiday, reopen on [Monday]". Um, what? We looked at our appointment card. We hadn't make a mistake. They scheduled us for when they were closed. Instead of writing us (they have our email address, home address, and phone number!) to reschedule, they just kept it be. I wrote them an email and sent them a picture of the appointment card. No reply. No apology, no offer to reschedule, nothing. The silence was kind of deafening. Except they still mail us their fliers and post card reminders to get the cats booster shots. We haven't gone back. read more

I never expected to be a cat owner, but one of my sister's crazy friend needed someone to look after her cat one weekend while she moved. She never picked the cat up again and now I've had a cat for nearly 12 years. I've been taking her to BVH for that whole time and I can say I feel like part of the family now. I always get an appointment quickly and the wait isn't too bad. They are quick with the exam and always recommend the usual pills like heartworm meds and such. I sometimes turn down meds like the heartworm stuff, and they seem ok with that. (I mean, when I tell my own GP that, no thanks, I'll skip the flu vaccine, I think I get the same look). I've seen every doctor, most I've liked. Dr. Coon, the owner, is a little wacky, but man is she thorough and is weirdly in love with animals--I know she's got my cat's health, comfort and happiness in mind. She caught my cat's liver failure right before it turned BAD and worked with me for three weeks (on the phone and in clinic) and saved her. At one point, when I couldn't leave the house because I had been following my cat around trying to get her to eat and she was finally eating, the receptionist (who no longer works there) DROVE to my house to bring more supplies. They hire good people. My cat survived with a great quality of life these last two years but a recent ultrasound revealed a probable tumor in the liver. When I asked the doctor (not Coon) if it would make a difference to our course of care to know positively if it's cancer, she said that knowing would be "academic"...and that's what I thought so I was glad to hear, and I decided no more tests. Now it's probably time to begin palliative care. I told this choice to the doctor and she so sweetly tried to reassure me that I should feel no guilt. Funny, because I am very practical and I don't--partly because of all the good work BVH and I have done for her all these years. But it was a nice gesture. They always give me the itemized bill and an email of the test results broken down, which is great because I immediately look up all the words and numbers and make up my own mind about her situation. I guess they are expensive?? I don't know; as I said, one cat and one vet only. I mean, my BF just put his cat to sleep with another vet and that's was expensive, too. So an ultrasound with technician readings for $400 or a urine draw and lab work for $76? With no health insurance? From a person with the similar training to my own GP? I think that's the kind of money we should be expecting to pay. I guess I'd say ask a lot of questions. Ask if a test would be worth it, or academic, or would change a course of care. Ask what the chances are that your indoor cat would get heartworms. Ask what the ultrasound AND all the procedures AND supplies used would cost, total. I think those kinds of questions could help if you think it's expensive. read more

This place is pretty bad. I just moved here and was looking for a good vet and popped in. From the records I had, my dog just needed his annual exam and a fecal exam. They gave me an estimate of $90 and I set up an appointment on the spot. When I came back for my appointment at 11:30 I arrived a little early. They brought me and Jangles into a room at 12:00 but I didn't see the vet till 12:45! My dog pretty well tempered, but 45 minutes is JUST TOO LONG. After I finally speak with the vet she looks over my records and tells me that although the dog has had a rabies vaccination last year in New York, he will need another one. Apparently even though WA has a 3 year vaccination law - told me I was overdue by NY's laws and had to get another one. . . I'm sorry WHAT? I just checked the law online and it appears NY has the same 3-year rabies vaccination law as WA. She also told me he needed his teeth cleaned (which I aggreed) but the minimum cost was $750! Jesus, I paid that for oral surgery in Manhattan last year. I'm certainly not paying that for a dog's dental cleaning! DON'T GO HERE. read more

Our first visit here was an emergency. We had woken up to find our beloved 13 yr old cat, who was absolutely fine the night before, in a lot of pain and barely able to walk. They had only just opened and they admitted us immediately. The situation was dire and we had to put our little guy down. It was a genuinely traumatic experience, I sobbed pretty much the whole time. And I'm actually tearing up as I write this remembering that day. But from the moment we walked through the door the technicians and Dr. McWilliams were so kind, efficient, and communicated clearly. Even though everything happened so fast we always felt like we were well informed of all the options, including prices and prognosis. But most importantly we felt like they really cared, even though they had never met us or our sweet cat before. They were very respectful and sensitive about what a difficult and emotional decision it was to end his pain. I was so grateful that they made something so awful as good of an experience as it could be. Then a few days later we received a card in the mail personally signed by the Dr. and all the technicians that were there that day referring to us and our cat by name and expressing condolences and encouraging us to call if we needed anything. We were both very touched by this gesture. We have now adopted a new little kitty and I knew that this was the vet I wanted to take him to. I just got back from our first kitten exam and vaccinations and the experience absolutely confirmed that these are the people I want taking care of our new little family member. The technician and Dr. Coon were both affectionate and gentle with my cat and explained things very clearly and thoroughly. To sum things up I believe this is a well run business with folks that are compassionate and very capable and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I had a tortoise shell rescue cat that was, frankly, on her last legs when I took her in. After about four short, sweet months, she stopped eating and drinking water. I was dreading taking her to the vet to have her put down so I reached out to Dr Sandra, and she came over the following day. My poor kitty couldn't even really walk anymore and she was so skinny!. Dr Sandra showed up when she scheduled, explained the process clearly, and performed my dear SloMo's final ending with deep care and sensitivity to the animal. For ending a cats life, this is the humane way to do it, where she was laying in her favorite spot and treated with the utmost kindness by Dr Sandra. Yeeeowww. I have a very tight schedule, so I was happy to find that this place is open on Saturdays. I came here to get my puppy's shots. He ended up having some kind of dandruff mite, so they gave him a bath in solution. Checking the mites under a microscope and bathing him (which I apparently could have done at home because she gave me the rest of the solution) cost me $300. I was told I could come back for the shots because they didn't want to traumatize him and my appointment would be free. After spending $300 for the bath, I didn't have enough money for the shots! I went back a couple of weeks later, and they said my appointment wasn't free anymore because I didn't come back within 10 days. I wasn't told this until the end of my appointment. Awesome. Another $110. The vet is nice and everything, but most vets are nice... Oh god, I'm annoyed all over again. This place makes me mad. read more

From my panicked phone call when my tiny rat terrier are a plate of chocolate brownies to her discharge, the staff at Broadway Vet kept me reassured, up to speed with everything, and most importantly saved my poor dog's life. I could not have asked for a more professional, friendly, and competent team of vets and receptionists. My first emergency with a pet was alleviated within moments of walking in the door and I was given a step-by-step guide as to what would be done to help my pup. No confusion at all! We've been taking our two cats to Broadway for 5 years, and now that we're moving out of state it's disappointing that we'll no longer be able to continue on with them. We originally visited them because they had good reviews and were conveniently located, plus they had Saturday hours. Not long after, they took away their weekend hours, which was a bummer, but now since ownership changed hands to a new doctor earlier in the year the hours are better than ever, covering both evenings and weekends. Not every interaction has been perfect over the years, and we did have one visit years ago that went sort of badly. The vet tech involved in that appointment has not been with the office for some time now, though, and ever since the new ownership has taken over all of our interactions with the office have been awesome. They're helpful and responsive, both in person and with questions over the phone. The prices have gone up, but so have the services (specialty and extended care). I think they've grown their staff quite a bit, as well. If something is really wrong with a pet, they won't need to ship you out to another office for special equipment and overnight care. I've only met the doctor who took over ownership once, and can't really comment on him specifically. I believe he specializes in orthopedic surgery, if I remember correctly. The previous owner is also still a practicing doctor at the office, and I like her, she has a very calm nature and speaks with a quiet and soothing voice around the animals. The office has helped us with recurring visits for stubborn ear infections, overnight/weekend hospitalization for a gastrointestinal illness, vaccine allergies, teeth cleaning, and handling a temperamental cat who can be quite mean to vets. Their location is easy to reach (though Friday afternoon traffic in the Denny and John area can be quite bad) and I've always been able to park in the back of the office. Generally, I've been really pleased with the changes put in place since the new ownership took over and think it's a great vet. read more

All around the WORST vet experience. Shop around for a good vet, cost does not equal quality in Seattle. First, the vets reflexively pushed expensive extra services - not the time or place when you have an animal in need of emergency care as we did and definitely not relevant to why we were there in the first place. Then, after the FIRST $150 visit (a complete waste of time & $$$) they asked us to return the next day to get our xrays (an additional $320). We returned the next morning, feeling we might as well finish what was started and hoping we would be finished after the second visit. They kept our pet there ALL DAY for an X-RAY, diagnosed he had a broken bone but didn't feel they could effectively splint his injuries for fear he would bite them and the bandages off - he had been there all day, was drugged, but no one thought to splint him while he was medicated. We had to ask for our x-rays to be handed over but the vet immediately asked that we bring them back (the x-rays are legally yours if you pay for them, we never did bring them back). The vets were incompetent on how to proceed with a broken center metacarpal. They recommended we take him to an orthopedic surgeon for a simple, clean break, a common injury with cats and dogs. - We later figured out that the "recommended" surgeon is in the same credit provider network as they are - and would have cost at least several hundred more dollars. In addition, the surgeon they recommended is known for hasty $$$$$ procedures. Feeling completely burned and upset that our pet still had nothing to protect his fragile paw, we took him to another vet who easily splinted him told us not to give him the pain meds that Broadway Vet prescribed, as this might cause further injury, and showed us how to wrap his paw at home if needed, all without any drugs and at a fraction of the cost of Broadway Vet. The biting was never an issue. Had we gone to the other place first, we could have saved over $300 and spared our pet a lot of discomfort. read more

This place has always been great to my kitties no matter what the issue (poisoning, aggression, liver issues, etc). Their pricing is fair and they are always so fantastic mannered with pets and pet parents. They have always been very accommodating to my somewhat crazy schedule. They also are good with keeping pet parents in the loop if any procedures are done (I was a nervous wreck) I highly recommend broadway vet to any pet owners! read more

I've taken my cat here for over 3 years now, and I won't be taking her anywhere else anytime soon. Although I started going here mainly for the close proximity to my apartment, I keep going now because of the amazing staff and excellent service. It's worth the drive from Ballard! As an annoying pet owner, I've called on a couple occasions with questions about my cat's runny nose or sneezing, and the receptionists have always been patient and informative - and kind! Every vet we've met with here has been wonderful. I've even boarded my cat here - she was safe and sound the entire time. When it comes to pets, I don't skimp on treatment - so I'm not sure if this place is expensive or not - I just know that they've helped me keep my cat healthy and happy for years, and I'm grateful. read more

After exploring multiple non-surgical options unsuccessfully, I made the difficult decision to have my cat declawed. My priority was finding a vet who would perform the surgery using the most updated techniques to minimize pain and recovery time. I found Broadway Veterinary Hospital through a Google search and made a consultation appointment. From the outset of the process, I was genuinely impressed by the service I received from Dr. Coon and her staff. Dr. Coon took time to explain the difference between conventional claw removal surgery and the laser surgery she performs. She also explained a new technique she had learned recently that greatly reduces the probability of error. I left feeling completely confident in the plan and the decision to move forward. Following the surgery, care and follow-up were exceptional. I received a text message update from Diandra, one of Dr. Coon's vet techs, nearly every day and a full report on Christmas day, when I am quite sure she had better things to be doing. I had no doubt that my cat's pain and recovery were being managed well, and beyond that, Diandra was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended. read more

I went here because of the other reviews on Yelp (which were better than those at the vet on 15th) but I was pretty disappointed. As others here have noted, prices are outrageous. I also didn't find the vet to be very helpful. My cat had been vomiting and so she examined him and then gave me a list of like 10 things that could be wrong. I could have put together the same list by looking up "vomiting" and cats online. What was worse, though, was when I asked questions about one of the diagnostic tests she was suggesting, the vet treated me like a complete idiot, like how in the world could i not think that test XXX was necessary. In fact, she didn't even want to talk it through with me and instead sort of shook her head and was like "fiiine then" and went on to her next suggestion. read more

Does anyone else find it strange that this place is called 'Broadway Veterinary Hospital', but it's actually located on 12th Ave? I guess it's close enough to Broadway that they can get away with it. Anyway... I've been bringing my dog here since July 2007, and I really only have nice things to say. The staff is friendly, the facilities are comfortable (for owners and pets alike), and they're very knowledgable and helpful. I recently had my dog spayed. I spent the entire day at work worrying through every possible scenario. When I went to pick her up, she emerged from the surgery a little sore, but as well as could be expected. The vet tech was also very clear in providing instructions for the next week. They do seem a bit pricey at times. However, for each visit, you are given an itemized invoice which details all of the services and charges. That is something I very much appreciate. 4 woofs! I mean stars... read more

Did the job while my regular vet was out of town. Here is the lowdown on my experience 1. More expensive than my regular vet 2. Tried to upgrade me into Scans we did not need. 3. While they took care of the complaint missed that my cat had a respiratory problem. 4. spent most of my time with an assistant and not a vet. Do not bring your cat here! Most of these negative reviews are from people who dislike their prices. Their prices are reasonable; it's the service I find appalling. I brought my cat here specifically after calling twice to ensure they had a specific version of the FVRCP (killed or modified live intranasal) to avoid a bad reaction. They assured me they had the intranasal form. I arrive and discuss my cat's medical history with the nurse, indicating the preference for killed vaccines over modified live and absolutely no injections if at all possible. She tells me they have the killed vaccine (which I had previously been told they did not). Great! I also indicate my preference at this time for the three year (killed) rabies vaccine. Neither I'm told is a problem. The vet comes in and informs me that they have neither FVRCP I'd been assured they had - only injection and apologizes profusely. After going ahead with both injections against my best judgment I receive the paperwork informing me of what transpired. Not only did the vets lie on two occasions about the FVRCP available (but oh so nicely apologize) - the vet also decided to give my cat the 1 year modified live rabies vaccine - which I did not ask for for multiple reasons because she thought it was a better idea. Come here if you want friendly vets who will absolutely apologize nicely while telling you misinformation and not following procedures as requested. Never have I had a vet clinic behave as this one did. My cat and I will not be returning. read more
