Brockman Properties rents out apartments all over the Long Beach area. We have been renting with them for almost 2 years now and here is what I love: There is no contract so our rent is month-to-month (a big plus!) I've lived in apartments where water wasn't included in what they pay for and it can get pretty steep, so thankfully it's included here. Also, the maintenance guy, Mike, is always on top of things so when we need a fixed window screen or garage door, he's always on top of it right away. Cons: No pets allowed, sometimes when you call them to have something fixed, it can take up to 2 days (twice this has happened) for them to get back to you. Also, we've had bikes stolen before (twice) in our garage and when I called to let them know so they could possibly "beef up" the security in our complex, they did not call back or make any adjustments (at least notify all the tenants to let them know personal property was recently stolen so keep an eye out). The staff is very friendly and not as strict (rent is due on the 1st or else!) which is probably why the tenants in my complex have stayed for years and not wanted to move out. Overall, we are pretty pleased with them! read more

I lived in a Brockman property for almost ten years and have nothing but good things to say. Everyone in the office is kind and quick to respond to any concern or question. On site managers are friendly, and really keep to themselves unless you need something. When I did have any issues they were resolved immediately. Once my hot water heater broke at 6pm on a Friday and the manager went out of his way to run and get me a new one before the weekend and installed it that night so I had no downtime on hot water. Definitely not service you would get with a larger more corporate property manager. I would absolutely rent from them again (never would have left if I didn't move out of the city). Can't recommend them enough. read more

Overall a decent and reasonable rental company in regards to value. Rented from them for 3 years and they solved most of the issues with the apartment itself however, they didn't seem to care much about super loud music me and other tenants complained about. Also, they took about 25% more than was fair in regards to my deposit but that is typical. They won't help you much with problems but they don't charge much ether. Overall a fair value. read more

Alyceanne was so great! We stayed with our place for a year, but would have stayed longer if circumstances were different. One of us was moving out of state, which is what sparked the move. However, they were always very attentive to issues and promptly would assist. We had all new apliances, a huge yard, and very kind property maintenance, Andy. I have had the wonderful opportunity to rent from Brockman Properties for the last 8 years. I think it is about time to give them a shout out! First of all thanks to the whole team at Brockman: Jill, Yadhira, Andy, Mike, for a wonderful 8 years and a great place to come home to each day! I haven't had many repairs over the years, but just this week I had a couple of things come up and I must say the speed and detail that was taken to get the work done (Thank you Andy) was amazing. I thought one of these repairs would be pretty time consuming yet it was done, complete, no muss, no fuss in less than an hour! my roommate and i have been renting from brockman for a full year now and i cannot stress how in love with the team i am! prior to renting from bp i personally rented from pabst kinney and my roomie and i rented long term from a better property (such a joke that that's their name cuz to date i have not found a worse company to deal with). the brockman office team (comprised of two incredibly kind and professional women)?are spectacular! any concerns or questions we have had have been dealt with within 24 hours....we pretty much always get a call back same day. having a friendly and caring landlord or property management company makes ALL the difference in the world and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND BROCKMAN!! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Our family changed plans so that we could accommodate Jill's inability to compromise regarding Brockman Properties paying a bill they owed. Long story short we all had to change our plans and drive all the way to long beach (3 hours round trip) so that Jill could have what she wanted, and we did this after she said she degraded our business and let us know that our time and plans don't matter. If this is how they rent their apartments don't rent here! Not to mention, their office is super ugly and out dated. It fits the attitude that Jill had when dealing with us. read more

I went in yesterday to see if they had any 1bd available for rent. They printed out a copy of their listings for me and after looking over the list I asked to see one of the units listed. They copied my id and got me the keys, it was a really quick and easy process. After viewing the apartment I went back around 4:30pm to fill out an application. They close at 5 so I tried my best to get through the application before then but I did end up having some questions about the apartment I was applying for. Yadhira stayed til 5:30 answering each of questions, making sure that I felt comfortable applying for the apartment. Any question she didnt have an immediate answer for she offered to email me instead. She didnt make me feel rushed to get out the door and made sure I had her card so I could email her with any questions I couldnt think of at the time. I haven't rented from them yet (but I hope I will soon) but I had a really great first interaction with them. read more

Ok, I have dealt with 4 long beach property management companies, Belmont Brokerage, Ernst and Haas, Pabst Kinney, and Brockman, Brockman takes the cake as the best of those 4. Some of the things took a tad getting used to, such as their deposits tend to be a tad bit higher than other companies, they want a full first months rent at signing, not a prorated portion of that if your not signing on the first. No apartment is perfect, and we got our issues, such as parking, etc. but they didn't build the apartment, they just manage it. The main thing that I love about them, they treat you with respect, and they are lenient about paying rent on the first, which is very important cause I had an accident, and I got behind on rent, and they let me get caught up, and I am not someone who slides on that stuff, but I almost cried when I realized I wasn't gonna be able to make rent, and they were like no problem. read more

Jill in the office has a terrible attitude and talks down about other businesses, such as Grand Terrace right next door. It is uncomfortable to listen to. So personal opinions aside. FACTS are, it is extremely hard to get a hold of them. Jill rarely calls back within 3 days. After I picked up a check for the services I rendered to their business (which was completed 6 weeks prior to them finally making the payment) the check bounced and I got stuck with NSF fees. Jill refused to pay for those fees or the inconvenience. Just not a good experience at all read more
