My fiancé and I have been trying to reach them the past day or so and we're having a hard time trying to get ahold of them. But once we got the link to try scheduling an appointment it scared me because it wanted our DL but it's understandable since it is a self-tour and they need some sort of verification in case something happens. Process seemed easy to get in after you get the code to access the lock box We're trying to find another apartment to move into since my fiancé has started new work in Long Beach and the commute is just to far for him. After finding this place it seemed like it could be a fit! After viewing we had a couple of questions and I tried emailing them from the email I got on their website, my fiancé tried calling them, and I replied to their automated email too but no dice And after reading the reviews here it seems that their communication is not that good Not sure if we want to commit to a place if we're unable to have a good line of communication Plus why is every where in Long Beach charging for parking if you're going to rent there anyways and parking here is like $150! read more

I haven't been with this property management company for very long (less than a year I would say). Recently, I've been trying to get ahold of anyone who can give me some information regarding the property in which I reside. I have not been able to get ahold of anyone. I've called twice and left voicemails both times, and I have yet to hear back from anyone. There isn't an email address either, which is frustrating. I have submitted multiple maintenance tickets over the last 6 months. One of my issues was resolved but we continue to have a leaky window. There is absolutely NO calls back, and then they just cancel the maintenance request without any resolution or notification. If you call their number 562-493-1400 option 9 for maintenance requests you get a recording that you've reached the wrong number. it's unbelievable how poor this group is. read more

Those maintenance people only come when it's convenient to them. They don't come on a schedule time. They change the scheduled time at their convenience. Basically, most of the time it's total neglect. 2 out of 4 tenants just moved out of my building because they both had gotten tired of the neglect. Hope and pray you don't rent a property that's managed by these guys. Property management/maintenance does the absolute bare minimum, and will gaslight and lie to you. They tell their maintenance team (electricians/plumbers..etc) they aren't allowed to talk to the tenants when coming to fix/work on something. They do that so they can blame whatever is wrong on you, lie about it, or claim something is finished when it really isn't. Any time they sent someone come over to fix something, I'll check-in to see what the problem was and watch for a little bit - only to hear a completely different story from management. God forbid a property manager company actually be honest and keep their tenants property compliant/safe/happy. If it weren't for renters protections laws, these guys would do nothing. read more

When I first moved in, everything seemed great. The leasing agent was friendly and helpful, and I even left a glowing review at their request. The moment I signed the lease and posted that review, things started going downhill. The unit was not professionally cleaned at move-in and my complaints about this were ignored. The ceiling fan was installed so poorly it nearly fell, and the so-called "brand new" dishwasher was already rusted and full of mold. Both fall under the landlord's obligation to maintain provided appliances, yet nothing was done. Noise complaints were ignored for months until management realized I had recordings. The lease guarantees the right to quiet enjoyment, but they acted otherwise. Their service is so poor that they even failed to give proper notice before sending service workers to my second-floor window early in the morning. Later, when management's work forced me to vacate for a week, I returned to a wrecked apartment: ruined rugs, dirty floors, urine splatter throughout the bathroom, and even unflushed urine left behind. It's as if they hired frat boys to do the job. About six months in, I discovered that I was responsible for a utility they claimed was included in the rent. The way that was handled was shady at best. I would never recommend signing a lease with these guys, but if you absolutely must, make sure to double check everything and only communicate in writing. The laundry facilities are explicitly included in the lease, but the only washer in the building has now been broken for over a month. I submitted a repair request on 7/16 that was marked "dispatched to tech." On 8/5 I submitted a follow-up request for status, which was ignored. Finally, on 8/26, the request was cancelled altogether. The last time the washer broke, it sat unusable for more than six months. This is a clear breach of contract. And in the middle of all this, management had the audacity to raise rent by $150 while ignoring basic lease obligations. I have never seen this level of incompetence, unprofessionalism, and repeated violation of lease terms. read more

I used the contractors associated with Mike Dunfee Group to install new flooring, a kitchen island, and baseboards. It was really easy to communicate with the contractor (Joel) and all of the people working on the house were very detail oriented and made sure all of the flooring was straight and installed correctly. I had requested to have no transition pieces between rooms and they were able to accommodate this. When I made minor changes to the plan, they accepted them with grace. All of the work they did looks wonderful! Since they work with so many condos in the downtown area, they were already familiar with the flooring requirements and were able to be in compliance and made my job working with my HOA for approval that much easier. Lastly, the pricing was absolutely fair and very competitive. Between my quote and invoice, the price was consistent with no sudden changes. My unit was managed by Pacific Coast, then management was changed to Mike Dunfee (MD Property Management). I am very disappointed with this company. To begin with the company does not answer their phones. My contact person is Sondra Hollis and her voice mail says, "Please leave a message" but then you get the following message, "This mailbox is FULL and can no longer receive any messages". The only way to get a hold of Ms. Hollis is via email. Secondly, to pay HOA dues you have to pay $2.49 to use a card. If you choose to use e-check, you need to pay %2.99 of the HOA dues. I asked about ACH withdraws, their response was for me to go to my bank and have them do a BANKPAY. Okay, I look up their company name on my bank's website so I can initiate the process and it does NOT show up. I asked may I send several checks, dated with each month and you cash them as the months go by? No, their response was to send a check written up for a total of 6 months and we will hold the credit here and withdraw from that account. This company's method of doing business is very archaic, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. I don't believe I should pay more on top of my HOA dues. I had a really positive experience during my tenancy in a unit owned by the Mike Dunfee Group. It was very low touch in terms of the landlord relationship which was peaceful. I only spoke to my property manager, Gabriela (who was wonderful), when I needed help, and always got prompt responses. Although it was a very old apartment, everything functioned very well. In the few instances there were structural kinks, I put a request through the mechanized tenant portal on the website and somebody from the maitenance team was there to fix the issue within a day. They never once blamed the issue on me to get out of paying as I know is common with some landlords, so I feel lucky to have chosen fair and professional people to rent from. I had very positive interactions with all the maitenance staff members I encountered as well.
