This is the best restaurant in the AV. Not a lot of competition, but it's a solid restaurant. Steaks very good, cocktails good. Grilled Caesar very good. Wine list needs work. Very Cab S heavy. Not particularly interesting. Where they need improvement is service. Even with a reservation you have to wait. We went to the bar to get a cocktail while we waited, we were never greeted by the bar staff. In fact they seem to go out of their way to not make eye contact. The manager Orlando however is great - so why isn't the staff more like him? You feel like they don't want you there. Our waiter however was awesome. Note to management: the attitude of the bar staff and the hostesses is off putting. Welcome guests, even if you are busy and let them know you'll be with them as soon as you can. This is the second time I have issues with a reservation. I still decided to give them another chance because the food is good. This was for a special 50th anniversary. Made the reservation way in advance and was specific over the phone that I needed a table to accommodate a disability. They seemed to have understood after I confirmed twice. Waited 15 mins extra after the reservation to be told that they, in fact, didn't make the accommodations available because they took in a big party. (And, well, what owner wants to lose that kind of money? Is what we left feeling.) We were told that we were going to have to wait another hour or so. They did offer a small booth but this wouldn't have sufficed for the disability. Which is why we called to inquire if they could oblige us. I ate here on Friday night in October 2021 with a special friend. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! I had the pork shank. Finally made it to this site after hearing and reading about this place. For the most part it was not a disappointment but they have their shortcomings. Made reservations and was promptly seated. Jaden was our server and he did an excellent job. He was friendly, funny and knew the menu extensively. If I come back, I must have him as my server, no one else. I had the pecan crusted redfish with grits and spinach. I could not really detect much of a pecan crust and the spinach which was fresh was way too salty. The grits were the best I have ever tasted. Flavorful with cheese and spices, it was the best part of the meal, except for the piece of flat iron steak, my dinner companion had. It was cooked to perfection. Well seasoned it almost made me wish I had ordered it instead. The lobster mac and cheese which cost $35.00 alone, was sadly lacking sufficient lobster to make it worth the price. I've honestly never eaten in the restaurant, I've only ever ordered food for take out. They have never disappointed. I would say it's pricey, but it's really not for the food taste, and quality you're getting. The Cowboy Burger is one of the best I've ever had. Their ribeye is excellent! The salmon is Fire! This place is always BUSY! I'll call to place an order before the restaurant is even open, and still have a long wait, most times, but it's always worth it. I did have a White Russian when waiting for my food once, I was unimpressed. But this is also why I don't drink at bars or restaurants most times. She's was an absolute delight, friendly, on her a game and her wit was everything. Anyhow lol we had the Brussels sprouts for appetizers, they were ok... lacked a bit of salt. For dinner my hubby had the whiskey pork chop. The glaze on it was nothing short of amazing. Pork chop was a little dry. I had a top sirloin that I added mushrooms and prawn to with seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. My steak was ok, some of it was a bit rough but the parts that were tender were really good. The good- Food was really good. My kids had a hamburger ($25) each and husband had beef stroganoff. The not so great- Their menu is Ala cart steaks so if you want any sides (like mashed potatoes) they're an additional $10 and up! Their steaks ranged from about $40 and up. I chose the 6oz filet ($50) which was cooked perfectly. I was thinking about adding.a rub but that's additional too. This place is amazing! They are always super packed so I recommend making reservations or anticipate a long wait time. However once you are seated the service is amazing. My waitress was super friendly and funny. This place definitely gives you a reason to dress up. It's a nice spot to surprise your better half for night of drinks. Everything about this place was fantastic. We went for my wifes birthday and i had ended up making a reservation. Practically every person wished her a happy birthday without the whole cringy song and dance. We even overheard them wish another couple a happy anniversary. It made everything seem quite friendly. The food was downright amazing. They apparently make everything in house including ketchup and the effort shows. I got myself the cowboy burger with added bacon, she got a steak, and we got an order of onion straws. The burger was fantastic, best ive had from any sort of diner or restaurant. The steak wasn't the best sadly but that im sure was because we didn't get it with a rub so there wasnt a whole lot of flavor going on. But the biggest surprise was the onion straws. I'm not normally one for onions outside of caramelized, but god damn were these fantastic. They had a kick to them for sure with a side of spicy sauce that i forget the name of. I had to slow myself down so i didn't fill up before my burger arrived. I can't say much about their drinks other than they certainly had them. They didnt exactly have a desert menu but we did get a free bowl of ice cream to share for my wifes birthday. If you've got something to celebrate. Go here. If you dont, also go here.
