Came here with friends and had a good time with good service. Everyone knows customer service in the valley is usually terrible, but everyone here was pleasant. I got the "mom" omelet. Visiting from LA and found this place via Yelp. Was in the mood for a good omelette and some crepes. They had exactly what I wanted! Ordered the Moms omelette I think it was called (egg white with avocado on top, Brussels sprouts, mushroom) and a single banana Nutella crepe. The omelette was a huge portion for sure. It was so good though. The single crepe was perfect size for one person and to satisfy my chocolate craving. Service was decent, not spectacular, can't complain. The Imperial Valley is somewhat limited in selection, and we were happy to notice this place. So far we have only had breakfasts, but a lot of times we are headed back home early in the morning. The chicken and waffles have been good as have the eggs benedict. Other traditional breakfast stand bys have been good too. A lot of time has passed and an update is definitely in order. Broken Yolk definitely stepped up their game and rose to the challenge of being a new restaurant in the Valley. I go here literally every weekend for breakfast now, and its fantastic. The staff is all friendly and attentive...I don't have everyone's names, but Dallas is usually our server. I ordered the fiesta breakfast burrito I think. It's what was recommended by the waiter. He was very nice and helpful. The burrito was huge! It had great presentation, I hated to tear into it. Even though it's Father's Day, it's quiet, with no one here. Came in at 1:00 (they close at 2:00.) I sat here for ten minutes waiting to see if anyone noticed me (I was rolling solo.) I had a menu in front of me and made eye contact with just about everyone - five girls talking at the register who saw me get seated, three serving the bar and four-ish waiting on tables. I left. I shouldn't have to ask for service. I was a food service worker at one time, and yes, a young one. My living was made from tips. I always overtip, you lost a big one! I get your staff is young, but they should know the value of good service. read more

I visited this place with my family and we might return. My family ordered Mexican plates and they said they were not great. I ordered a burger and it was very gross, it didn't even have a bottom bun. The customer service was alright, the lady always seemed in a rush but we were understanding as the place was very busy. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We drove an hour just to eat at Broken Yolk, and it was not worth it at all! We had a party of 20 and they said we had to be seated outside which we did not mind, we waited 20 mins even though they had nobody outside and they wanted to charge us all in one check, she stated that she tried working with us and wanted us to charge us two checks instead of individually, she had no answer when we asked why she was going to charge us in one or two checks we all wanted to pay individually, we did not mind the gratuity and we were all going to tip anyways but she insisted we could only be seated if we paid the whole tab with one check, when we asked again why she shrugged and said sorry that's the only way. It has very good brunch foods. Unfortunately, it's more of a daytime restaurant and closes early into the afternoon. The food is a bit costly, but really tasty and boujee. Totally worth the visit once in a while. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods, salads, meat dishes, etc. read more

This place is awesome, my wife and I stopped in on the way to Yuma on a road trip and I had the breakfast tacos wow, they came with rice and beans were authentic the tacos had a double corn tortilla filled with egg meat onion and avocado. If I could put 0 stars I would me and a groups of guys drove from yuma looking forward to try it, at showing up we were told that they could only do 1 check for all 22 if us. We asked that we wanted separate checks.after waiting for 20 min the manager I assume was the manager told us the best they can do is 3 checks we left. Me being in the restaurant business for 13plus yrs customers service was poor and going above for excellent customer service was horrible. Customers should be always first I do say that I will never come and try this place nor recommend. I love coming here when visiting family in Imperial. The place is never over crowded and I love their early bird specials. The 3 of us can have a HUGE, hearty breakfast for under $20. Although there are 3 Broken Yokes in San Diego, where I live, I haven't ventured to any of the others, but I'm sure they are just as good.
