It was Mexican Mother's Day. It was really busy that morning. The restaurant was full and two benches outside were piled with people. I noticed the covered patio wasn't filled and thought to ask if we could be seated there. On this very busy day, the patio was closed. We stood in the sun with moms who were less than happy. A little less than 30 minutes later, we were seated. The service was ok. The food has been the same over-served, overpriced meals. But we couldn't get in at any Denny's in the valley and too many local spots don't make crepes. read more

I've been to a broken yolk before but in San Diego. This restaurant was nice. We stopped here after passing though the border on our way back home. It was quite busy but they seated us right away. Our server was sooo nice! He refilled water quickly and stood nearby to check the table and take our plates away as soon as we were done. I got an iced matcha latte. It was good but very sweet. My bf got the iced caramel coffee and that was waaay TOO SWEET. Not good. I also got the Sope Benedict which was advertised on the menu as a popular item. It was described as crunchy and I was craving that CRUNCH from the sope that I've had before at other Mexican restaurants and at home The food came to the table and as soon as I cut into it, it was not crunchy at all. It was beyond soggy. The shredded beef didn't taste all that great either. I understand it has sauce on it but they absolutely drenched it and let it sit in the sauce that made it so soggy. If there was a zero star I would put that! There was bad customer service! And when we had gotten our food, one of our plates had a price tag on an avocado, we had sent it back to get a new plate. They had told us that the food was going to come out "really quick". So the rest of us ate our food expecting that the other plate was on its way. All of us finished our food and we ask the waiter what's the status on of plate, she then told us that they didn't make a new plate that they had thought we didn't want it no more. Just had the most unprofessional experience here by a so called manager named Roxy! She seriously lacks tact, professionalism and customer service! She had the nerve to charge us for nasty, black avocado that we returned twice and had the audacity to ask us if we ate the first one when she, herself took it back in her hands both times. Is she that forgetful or just playing the part? Please corporate, check your cameras! Then to make matters worse, she said that "we were the only ones who complain about the avocado ". I don't care what other people eat or do not eat, but we most certainly will not eat bad avocados, let alone pay for them. This is almost always an issue at this place. Overall 4/5 stars: Food 3.75/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 4/5 We had to come in for some items and decided to stop for breakfast. I've had Broken Yolk Cafe bookmarked and I've heard good things so wanted to give it a try. Sunday morning was pretty quiet though the restaurant started getting busy around 9:30am. We were shown to a nice comfy booth and given menus. Drink orders of coffee and water were delivered. The coffee was pretty good and refilled often. The menu was egg shaped and a variety of options. Hubs chose a short stack of pancakes and I selected Eggs Benedict. It was a tough choice between the Benedict and chicken & waffles. The food came out extremely fast. It seemed impossible to cook it that fast but the food was hot. The pancakes were good sized. They had a good enough flavor but were a bit spongy or rubbery. The maple (flavored) syrup was (I'm sure) not real but quite good. The Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were done perfectly with a beautiful yellow yolk that ran out of one egg (?) There was no yolk in egg #2. I'm not sure if it was in with yolk #1 or if they have some yolk conspiracy going on. The hollandaise was good. The strangest part was the Canadian Bacon-it was very thick and tasted more like bologna than Canadian Bacon. [I grew up back East and fried boloney (yep!, pronounced boloney) was a favorite food so I know baloney]. There is a ratio of egg to Canadian Bacon to English Muffin that was thrown off with the thick, strange-flavored meat. I actually just took the meat off and it was better without it. I do recommend The Broken Yolk. Even with the problems, the food was overall good. Service was good. Our server was nice and helpful in answering questions. read more

The food was so good I forgot to take a picture. One of the better breakfast/brunch spots in the valley. Lots of variety here. You can have a traditional American breakfast with some modern twists. They also have a lot of Mexican breakfast options. As of writing this review I'm preparing to do the food challenge they have here. The "BYC Challenge" if you've seen the hit Cartoon Network show "Regular Show" you might recognize it as the Eggscelent Challenge. 12 eggs, mushrooms, Onions, Cheese, smothered with chili and accompanied by two biscuits on a 15 in' plate. If you eat it under an hour it's free and you get a free t shirt saying you completed the challenge. Highly recommend everyone come here! read more

The ambience is a is a nice breakfast place to go would be good with family and friends just to have a quick meeting or a quick bite the service was, very interesting and very attentive very friendly. They were desiring to make sure that we got everything we ordered and everything was the way it was expected and they continuously came by to fill a water coffee, etc. which is what we expect we were thanked for our business by three different team members. Had blueberry pancakes and poached eggs. My wife had a veggie omelette. We weren't impressed as I like my blueberry cooked inside the pancakes. Ate here for first time and it was a good place to eat. My family and I ate breakfast but we saw people around us order from lunch menu and it looked good. Restaurant kept cleaned and this is extremely important for my family and I because if not kept cleaned we turn around and walk out. Waitress nice and almost fully attentive. I love the Broken Yolk. I was excited to see their Christmas menu items out as I loved the pumpkin pancakes this past fall. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I really felt like I was in an "expectation vs. reality" meme. I ordered the white chocolate cranberry pancakes. The toppings were sparse. The items mixed-in were clumped together instead of spread out through the pancakes. The pancakes, themselves, were dry. The price was $9.95 which I wouldn't have a problem paying if they resembled the picture at all. The service was excellent, though, which you can expect every time you visit. read more

Very unsatisfying. I took my son for his birthday, our waitress did not show any hospitality to us. I asked her if they did anything special for birthdays to which she said she would. The BEST breakfast joint in the Valley. Make sure to show up early in the morning because it gets packed. I like to sit at the bar area because it's usually empty and there's no wait.
