Their bid was competitive, and the company website was very informative. We share a fence with our neighbor, and shared the cost. We were contracted and invoiced separately which made payment seamless. Luis was the project manager for the job. His emails were professional and informative. He kept me up to date at every turn. The on-site contractors were respectful, courteous, and professional. The job site was completely cleaned after the 2-3 day project was completed. I also thought they were a local company, wanting to support a small business and they run ads to make you think that they are (which I fell for) but they are a national company. You get handed off from person to person throughout the process with no continuity of service, which should have been my first flag to go with someone else. This pattern continued when on the day of service a man and wife show up at my door. No company logo on their clothes or truck. They also didn't speak English, so when I open the door the man just said "fence" and waits for me to walk him to the fence. I had done the video walk-through during the quote process but no one showed it to the two-person fence crew to prepare them so he doesn't know what to do. He calls someone else at the company (not the account rep I had previously spoken with) and puts them on speaker to have them try and translate between us as I'm explaining the job to be done. The person on the phone doesn't understand because they can't see it, and the guy on site can't understand because of the language issue. The fence ends up being completed but not to what was agreed to prior in the quote process. I'm not thrilled but figure it's not the end of the world because they said during the initial quote that if the fence was shorter than expected or supplies not used they would refund it back. That was a complete lie. I've spent months calling trying to get it sorted out and corrected. It takes weeks to get a return phone call from them. Then, they just stopped answering or returning calls altogether. I saw another review that said their phone system is set up to not answer calls they don't want to answer, and this is 100% true. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with for a service company.

This wasn't mentioned and caused delays. Be home during the install if possible--it's helpful to see how things are done and learn yard care tips. Ask for a brush-up service around 9-12 months after install. (Ours is still new, but we'll update once that happens.) Regret: We didn't upgrade to Cool Turf. It heats up just like the weather--something to consider if you live in a hot climate. Our Experience: We chose Big Tex Turf because they matched key items from another quote, had great reviews, and guaranteed completion before a big home event. We paid in full, so can't speak to financing. Our sales rep (Zach) started strong, but was hard to reach after booking. When weather delayed our install and left a large sand pile in the street (a safety and HOA issue), we couldn't get a hold of him--even the install team had trouble. I had to step in and offer a temporary tarp/cone solution myself. Tip: Texting a team member is more effective than calling. Calls go to the main office. Despite the sales rep gap, the installation team was excellent. They were efficient, professional, and finished the job in one day. Cleanup was great, and they came back as early as 7 AM to resolve post-install questions. 2-Year Follow-Up (as of 5/14/2025): Almost two years later, customer service remains solid. We've had a few normal turf issues and they've addressed every one quickly. The lawn still looks great--we're overall very happy.
