A room upstairs with a fireplace!
Lily C.

We had a great experience at the inn! We reserved two rooms for 4 people but one of us had a dog. You should let them know ahead of time so they can give you a room on the 1st floor if you have a dog. No dogs are allowed on the 2nd floor. We forgot to do that but they were able to accommodate us by making last minutes changes to the room. Our specific room upstairs (without the dog) had a fireplace which was nice. It's decent sized with a double bed. The staff was very friendly. The lounge, play area and bar was neat with a pool table and a ton of board games. The breakfast from 7:30am-9am was very good with two different options to choose from along with coffee and drinks. Overall, we had a great time and it's only 10-15 mins drive to mount snow.

Comfortable Inn run by brother and sister team. Gracious hosts and very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Wrap-around porch and garden with pond in the back were relaxing to chill out. Location is great: close to Manchester and Appalachian Trail trialhead. Looking forward to staying here again.

View of Bromley which must be amazing in the winter.

BVI is an amazing B&B that should be your destination for Bromley! If there was 10 stars I would give it. Starting with a great view of the mountain of course, this place has Michael at the helm, a kind and thoughtful soul that clearly has an attention to detail and genuine love for hospitality. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast (and I was in need of a big "hiker hunger" breakfast) was awesome with everything from fresh juices to carefully made crepe style pancakes to an egg scramble that will pack your belly. Since I didn't have a car, Michael ran me into town twice AND offered trail pickups and drop offs (summer season keep in mind). The humongous lounge/rec room is amazing and I would like to return in the winter to see how that must explode with use. There's also basically a private bar since they can only serve hotel guests now. Private bar at your own hotel! BVI is quite big for a B&B and has suites that seem to accommodate families, and right before my stay the entire place was booked out so sounds like a great destination for an event. Thank you for a great stay Michael!

Great place, great hosts. No problems with water heating up, or thin walls. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Yodeler room where there was plenty of warm blankets, a fireplace, and the shower was great and spacious as well. Anne and David were a total delight as hosts, I would not hesitate to visit again.

This was my first ever stay at a bed and breakfast and this was everything I could have asked for. Anne & David were warm and welcoming innkeepers and their residence was clean, homey, even kitchy with old ski relics and pictures from yesteryear adorning the walls as decoration as well as a unique assortment of mugs available for coffee or tea left on a shelf for your choosing, a very simple but pleasing touch). It was pretty much exactly what I would have imagined a BnB to be in a northeast ski town. The hospitality was second to none - warm smiles and helpful local hints, great big breakfast with toast, fruit, with eggs, bacon, and sausage all from local farms. The cat was even friendly, who curled up with me as I worked to catch up on some business in one of the many open gathering spaces late at night. If you ask nicey, David might show you his ski collection or even take you out for a personal tour of the mountain (although he did say he rarely gives lessons anymore, but something tells me he's still game). I couldn't be more pleased, and I would go again without hesitation. My highest recommendation!

Every ski resort has it's basic motel for those trying to save money. The Bear Lodge is that place…read moreat Stratton. Do not put your expectations too high and go skiing so that you are tired and easily fall asleep and you will not be disappointed. Remember, you're paying somewhere near $100 per night while other properties start around $200. Keep that in mind at all times. The good: - cheap (cheap is relative; this is cheap for a ski area!) - reasonably clean room - free wifi - comfortable beds - excellent shuttle to the ski area (never had to wait more than 5 minutes) - the staff was friendly - bar and dinner food (duck tacos+++, sliders ++, winter green salad+++) - windows that open and let in lots of light (I see some rooms could not make this statement) - hot showers and plenty of pressure - lots of plugs for computers and i-stuff - lighting was sufficient - cheap (did I mention it's cheap?) - working LCD TV with basic cable (bring an hdmi cable and you can connect it) The bad: - worst AC/Heat unit ever. It will never turn off! Ask to have it disconnected and get a space heater. - room to room noise; especially units above mine (123) - no coffee maker in the room The I don't care: - no lunch - no elevator - nice lobby with fireplace - ski storage in the room (come on build a ski storage area) - minimal free breakfast (I guess it's worth what you pay for it) If you want fancy do not stay here. If you lower your expectations they will be met.

Taking a shower was difficult because whenever someone else on our floor would shower the water temperature would drop to freezing then rise to burning. The outside of the inn is pretty like the surrounding area though for the day I was there it was raining and in the middle of the summer so no snow. The staff was helpful in that they tried to get us into our room early even though check in wasn't until 4:30. We ended up getting into our room around 3 so we had enough time to shower and get ready for the wedding that was down the street in the Chapel of the Snows which was an adorable little chapel. They do offer a free breakfast in the morning which consisted of cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, and/or fruit. Pretty basic but still good. This isn't a place where you'd stay if you were planning on staying in the rooms a lot. It's located near ski lifts and whatnot but I'm not a skier so I don't know much else about the rest of the resort. Since I'm not a skier or a snowboarder I've never been to other places like this so I have no subject of comparison aside from regular hotels. There isn't a whole lot in the area but there are a few restaurants and bars.

I was charged $219 a night and there wasn't even any soap on the sink or shampoo in the shower. The room looked nothing like was posted on their website. The day I checked in there was an intoxicated man standing outside. I checked in with a girl, she showed me where my room was and immediately left. I couldn't get the wifi password and walked to the lobby to look for someone to help me and the intoxicated man that had been outside was in the lobby and asked me if I needed help. I said no and went back to my room. I proceeded to bring my things in from my car. The room smelled like stale booze and cigarettes. I had a king sized bed and the mattresses didn't even match and were ripped. There were no pictures on the walls and lots of stains and marks on the walls. I went to my engagement and came back at 9:00pm. I did not feel safe at all. Did not even get under the covers afraid that I would get bed bugs or lice. I woke up very early the next morning and came back around noon. I stopped at the local farm stand next to the lodge and told them where I was staying and how bad it was. They said "I am so sorry, that place is bad news." They also told me that the state used this place to house homeless people during Covid and the police were constantly there. Clearly they have not cleaned it up since then. I left for my engagement at 3:00. Came back at 9:30 and did not feel safe or comfortable. I packed up my things and left. I have called hotel.com and the hotel and they both blame it on the other party. I want my $483 back. This place wasn't even worth $50 dollars a night. I will be filing a complaint with the state and the board of health. Shame on hotels.com and this disgusting place. Do not stay here!! The most disgusting place I have ever encountered. If you just need a place to sleep after you're away most of the day hiking, shopping around etc, this is just fine and felt safe. It has good outside lighting when you drive up. We did have to leave 1 day early due to a big quick-onset snowstorm that would have been really unsafe to drive back through for hours if we stayed, and are waiting to hear back about a refund for that last night. We were told by the front desk the manager wasn't available at all the day we needed to leave, and we did leave by checkout time. We provided all our contact information and also had the third party booking agent also reach out to the manager. We are waiting for a response from the manager and I have also left a voicemail since we left. I will update the review accordingly if I'm able. Thanks. Update: We did contact Expedia and you and they also chatted with your motel directly on the phone; your motel denied the refund, not Expedia and it's important that's clear here. Either way, overall we did like the motel and the area. Thanks!
