Got fooled twice. Looking for country food. Ramsey has great reviews and pictures look very appetizing Flavor and looks are right there. But they cut major corners and I guess no one realized. Salad. It is all lettuce. No leafy greens at all. Lettuce is the cheapest out of all the greens because it has nutritional value of a piece of paper. And the chicken salad is the same price as other restaurants that have better Ingredients. $15. Catfish. Pretty sure it is not catfish and it is swai. Which is like $1/lb that restaurants trying to cheat off. The fish batter has good seasoning and good crunch from the cornmeal but it is not catfish. The meat itself looks different, and bland. $17 for that with 2 sides. Hush puppies are weird. Came here with my family after moving to town last week. I got the BLT chef salad and it was HUGE, which I suppose for 15 dollars is good. It was fine, it's a salad so no major concerns. Our service was really good. Overall, I would say the experience was average. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying something else. This seems like a good place to get southern food. read more

I've heard so much hype around Ramsey's, I was very excited to go here! Unfortunately our experience didn't live up to the hype. Our waitress was new and couldn't answer any of our questions, including very basic questions about the drink menu or the price of sides if you buy them alone. She kept having to go get another server, which would take a very long time, and that server seemed very busy and stressed, so I felt like we were burden before we even ordered anything. Our server shouldn't have been sent out to work alone -- she wasn't ready and she seemed very uncomfortable. The food was okay. I went with a large party, and I think only one person was very pleased with their food. Everyone else had some sort of complaint, ranging from the meat being a very small portion to the sides being over-fried. The interior had a fun bar feel, but there were some spots that could've benefited from cleaning. I know this place is well-loved, so maybe we caught them on a bad day. I will try this Ramsey's again, as well as other locations, because I'd love to see what the hype is about! Unfortunately just didn't get to see it this time. read more

This Ramsey's location is our favorite one in Lexington. The restaurant is spacious with more booths than other locations and the servers are great. Maria served us this time and she was attentive and delightful. We also saw Asia, who has served us a couple of other times and she is great! The food is always delicious, and the restaurant uses local produce in season which just tastes better than something transported across the country. We were well fed and served. We both definitely recommend Ramsey's! read more

While in town on business, I was brought to Ramsey's for dinner. Nothing fancy here as it is modeled after a small mom and pop diner. The service is good as our waitress was attentive, kept drinks flowing, and checked on us often. While the food took a little while to come out, it was worth the wait. The menu consists of many southern specialties including sandwiches and a wide variety of sides. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was one of the tasty I have had. It was slightly spicy which was perfect. The homemade blue cheese dressing was delicious and enhanced the sandwich. I had potato salad as my side and it too was delicious. read more

My friends appreciated this place a lot more than I did and came back again the next day, but perhaps I just didn't make the best choices. My husband and I split a blackened fish plate with fried green tomatoes, parmesan corn on the cob, and apple fritters. The fish was good, but the portion wasn't huge and since we split it we didn't each get much, which would have been fine if I'd been more keen on the sides since neither of us eat large portions these days. I didn't really care for their fried green tomatoes, a dish I normally really enjoy and enjoyed much more at biscuit belly a couple doors down a couple days later. The apple fritters were better but still not amazing. The corn on the cob just tasted like corn on the cob (which isn't bad per se), but I am not sure where the parmesan was. My friends said that the cherry almond pie/tart? they had the next day was fabulous. Maybe if I'd been hungry enough for dessert my rating would have gone up? I think I just didn't really care for their style of breaded fried veggies vs. others. Service was good, no complaints about the prices, and I was glad that the music wasn't piped into the bathroom when I went in there so I could avoid my least favorite band when it came on the radio :) But, all in all I am not sure I'd go out of my way to return. YMMV since clearly my friends liked it more. read more

Normally I would not have given a 5 for diner food, however, the food and especially the service was excellent this visit. My southern fried catfish and 3 vegetables were excellent especially the catfish and the amazing fried apples. My daughter had the chicken and dumplings that was very good and filling. We ordered to go this weekend it was snowy and cold. Thankfully they have a drive thru window and made our pick up easy and quick. We ordered the Cajun catfish dinner with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob & coleslaw. As well as the Buffalo chicken dinner, with mashed potatoes and Parmesan fried corn cob. Stopped by this evening with my wife. Over 20 minutes before a waiter came by. He our order and drink order. Over 20 minutes more and no drinks or food. My wife finally all but yelled at our waiter as he walked near. She asked if we could at least get our drinks? He said "she is really busy at the bar". But our drinks came in another 5-6 minutes. Meal came about 5 minutes later. We barely ate because the food wasn't very good. Did leave a nice tip anyway since people are kind of working. But we then went home and made a sandwich. I ordered the veggie plate with acorn squash, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. Only the squash had seasoning; the rest was surprisingly bland. Ramsey's in Masterson Station is a breath of fresh air! I'm so thankful for a restaurant we can walk to on a nice day, or drive to without having to take New Circle or cross town to get to. The restaurant is welcoming, staff is always polite, and the food is great comfort food. We have been several times, and have brought out of town guests at least once. We have had their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is an interesting concept of either all or nothing for the same price, but all of it is delicious. We have had drinks from the bar, appetizers, entrees and pie, too. Their chicken never disappoints, whether naked or sauced. The range of sides to choose from mostly hit the spot; the breading on some of their sides isn't particularly to my liking, but there is enough variety that I am never left wanting. We've had the Meat & Three, various options, from country fried steak to lemon yogurt chicken breasts, to pot roast. Hubs raved about the open face pot roast sandwich. Their salads a huge, and while beautifully presented, I find a bit difficult to eat as you have to cut it all up and try to get a piece of everything in every bit, and it can become messy if you're trying to mix it together, but it's definitely worth it! There is always something we haven't tried before, so I think it'll be a while before we have to repeat meals, even still, we're fans for life! read more

I have been a Ramsey's patron for many years but yesterday I was disappointed.. I discovered they have substituted the onion bun on the burger for a regular brioche bun and the total quality of everything seemed to decrease. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 2 is because the service was great! She was very attentive and kept bringing the refills quickly. I hope Ramsey's is not sacrificing quality for cost in their future business endeavors. read more

First, there is not enough handicap parking and we have a van with a ramp that needs the space with harsh marks and we had to parking the back where there isn't any accessible sidewalk access. Secondly, we were seated quickly, but sat at our table for twenty minutes without anyone coming by - servers were walking past us constantly. We finally just left and no one asked us why, or even noticed we left at all. We were so excited to get this restaurant in the neighborhood and now we don't feel welcome and will probably never go back. Just unacceptable. read more
