A buffet of beer, and I like variety. Always great options on tap, I've never had anything else to drink but beer here. I mean, it is an ale house. The crowd is pretty cool. I'm not a sports fan so I try not to go when a game is on. I'm not into all the yelling and what not. The food is hit or miss. The pulled pork is great. But do not get the appetizer sampler. Do not! Its just what you'll find in your grocer's freezer. And thats pretty sad. The burgers are good sometimes. Last time, my medium burger was burnt. Not good at all. I wish I could have sent it back, but I never do that because I am not a fan of saliva in my comida, you dig? Let me break it down for you real simply; Very good beer selection, if maybe just a bit short of great. The place is a godsend for the immediate area, and the borough as a whole for that matter. Nonetheless it is overpriced, particularly considering its location. The decor is clean and nice but sterile and identical to the many suburban beer bars of this type that have sprung up in recent years in LI and Westchester. As far as the food goes the wings are very good, everything else I have tried mediocre, as is usually the rule in all of those suburban beer bars I just mentioned. I've been to the Alehouse a handful of times, it's a really nice place. The food is delicious the drinks are great and it's always a loud fun atmosphere in there. My favorite part is the unlimited popcorn refills! I love popcorn and can snack on it all day, it may seem like a small feature but it's actually one of my favorite reasons to come here! I've ordered burgers and nachos before and they were all exceptional. The prices feel a little steep at times however. I'd probably order more drinks if I didn't feel like I was spending more on food (delicious food though) The only complaints I have is that the waitstaff although very nice and personable is sometimes inattentive on my experience and the seats/tables aren't always so great or comfortable. Overall, I like the alehouse and definitely look forward to sampling the entirety of the menu. read more

Bronx Ale House has a great atmosphere and the waiters are friendly. The popcorn breadbasket is a great and delicious idea. A good selection of beers and wings are tasty. However, the food took way too long for an empty Sunday afternoon. Not only did it take a while, but their iceberg wedge "pinwheel" salad was poorly done and COVERED in red onions. It was way too much. It came with barely any dressing, and the dressing it did come with was a gross grey color. I asked for an extra side of dressing (was given 2 to go cups worth) scrapped the grey stuff off, and it was fine. Upon receiving the bill, we realized they charged $1 for the side of dressing. First off, no one told me it would be extra. Second, the salad came with barely any on it. And third, you're really going to charge the $12 salad an extra $1 for some dressing? That's pretty rude and very typical of a chain, not a community bar. Come on guys. read more

We sat at these cool stool high tables in the back. The second room seems pretty narrow when you first arrive, but we crowded nine people around pretty comfortably. The service was impeccable. Professional. Priceless. I asked for a beer, and seeing that I really had no clue as to the flavor of what was offered, the waitress brought out samples of the taste I was looking for. Whenever one of us wanted something, she was close by to hop on our request. The food was pretty good: pork sliders. [I just changed the rating from a 4 to a five.] The sliders were juicy, zestfully flavorful and fresh. Bottom line. I remember having a great time with my colleagues. The beverage selection is extensive and has something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the spinach artichoke dip. They have options for all diets including vegetarian and vegan. Sat on my todo list for a long time before I made the trip. I'm an enormous beer snob (the snobbiness is enormous, I'm average-sized), so I didn't think I would be as impressed with the selection as most yelpers. But the selection is indeed impressive. I'd say it's on par with places like Pony Bar, Blind Tiger, and the Ginger Man. Maine Brewing's "Lunch" is being tapped soon. I recently had Trinity's Red Swingline (fairly rare sour). They sell beer in their own growlers. Their draft menu is an electronic screen with a description of each beer and a gauge of the amount remaining in each keg. The bar is pretty long and there are several wooden booths and tables. They have a nice outdoor area as well. They have a good amount of TVs and a new-school jukebox thing. I liked the casual, non-crowded atmosphere when I went last year on a Saturday afternoon. The crowd consisted of non-yuppie, laid-back, social 30ish-year-olds. The bar was understandably nearly empty when I went today (Friday at 12:30pm). The popcorn is free. The good beers are $8 for 12oz which I find a little pricey. I got the drunken onion Gorgonzola burger, medium, with regular fries for $13. Both were solid. I liked that we were given a small growler of water so that we could refill our own cups. read more

I used to come to the alehouse years ago before they expanded, having gone last week for the first time in a while, I'm sad to say things have gone downhill. The food was bland, not like a couple years ago, the service was hoooorrible. This kid was chewing on a toothpick the whole time and didn't check on us once, didn't try to get us more drinks, nothing. He charged me twice for things I didn't order but he was no where to be found to take it off the bill. What can I say about this place! Is just amazing. One of the greatest location in the Bronx. The place is convenient and well located, the customer service is outstanding. The only thing that I dislike about this place is the price of the food... To expensive for my taste I could say. But other than that, everything is good. I'm a apple cider fanatic and I like this place because ciders are hard to come by and they have options. Many drinks on tap which are pretty awesome. This place is soooo nice. Not only is it spacious and pretty but they accommodated me with an outlet for my portable rechargeable oxygen which is awesome in my book. I had the fish tacos with chips & salsa and it was so good. I totally recommend if you want to go have a nice lunch with friends. Our actual waiter came to take our order and we never saw him again. And we never got more water. That's a huge pet peace of mine. At least come by and give me more water. At the least. Please. Now, the food. I didn't even finish the meal. That's how pointless of a meal it was. I literally said "Nah, not finishing it, not worth the calories." I have never counted calories in my life. We got wings and a burger with parm-garlic fries. The burger had no flavor, thank god for bacon and tomatoes. The actual wings were cooked perfectly, so I will give them that. But the sauces were just not good. We got their most popular, chili something and the sweet sriracha. They weren't spicy at all. This is also me comparing the sauces to Buffalo Wild Wings sauces which I love. The fries were drenched in oil and I'm just not a fan of super skinny fries because of this reason. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Came here on a Wednesday night around 10 and the Yankee game was on, so it was packed. The hostess sat us at the only table they had available - which was in a corner with zero lighting, I couldn't even see the menu. She apologized and said that's the only table they had, and I think that part of the restaurant is being renovated. Fine, no biggie, I've been here a ton of times and the beer and food is good - so sitting at a crappy table wasn't that much of a problem. So then the waiter comes over. Early 20's wearing a baseball cap. I ask him what's on draft. He tells me the draft beers are on a tv screen on the other side of the room. I asked him if he had the paper menu for the draft beers. He says "nope!" (Lying azz. I just had the paper menu last week cuz the tv wasn't hooked up). I said "so you expect me to walk all the way across the room and read that menu off the wall?" "Yup". Then he laughs like it's cute. I told him "it's bad enough this table sucks but this is your idea of customer service? I'm not paying for this treatment." He laughs and says "ok fine". I wonder if his boss thinks it's fine that this idiot just let at least $80 walk out the door? I should have asked to speak to a manager right then and there but I was so ticked off that it wouldn't have been a very coherent conversation. I literally just got done with a 12 hour work day and I'm gonna patronize your business and give you my money while being treated like crap? No thanks! Most of their staff is a unprofessional, but their intentions are good. But that waiter should have never been hired in the first place. Disgusting attitude. Zero customer service. Lowering my review. I had a friend visiting from Brazil, with a government issued Brazilian ID, which showed she turned 21, nine days prior. They wouldn't accept it. I dove down from New Haven to meet my friends and they wouldn't let her into the bar despite being 21 as confirmed by the Sate Brazilian ID. After driving 70 miles to be turned away for no reason. I wouldn't ever step foot in here again. With the number of tourists that are in this city, I find it completely unacceptable a young lady had who turned 21, nine days prior with a Brazilian government identification approved by the Country of Brazil, was turned away. And it's a disgrace to the diverse nature of the neighborhood. As a fairly regular patron. Never again and I would advise others not to as well. Livid at the waste of time in getting here and gas spent 140mi round trip. Complete attidute by the staff. I should also mention the youg lady was here visiting her father and mother for the first time in over a year from Brazil and we hoped to have a nice dinner. I feel like an ass for suggesting it. Okay .. I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine. I have been in this are about a 1,000 times and never knew it was this close to me and this amazing. Customer Service: My server was amazing .. I believe her name was Dana - But boyyy was she awesomeeee .. She was very friendly and attentive to all our wants and needs. Drinks: The drinks were great on my first visit, which was a Friday of course I had a Margarita :) - But my second visit, which was on a Monday .. My Margarita was not that great at all second time around. Food: First time I had Chicken Tenders - They were great and tasted SUPERR fresh .. Definitely would get it again. Second visit - My burger was pretty okay - The bun was hard though .. Would I get that again? hmm Idk .. Next time I will try something else on the menu. Why are none of the reviews raving about the sliders?! I went for the wings because that's what most people were talking about and was quite disappointed. Maybe it was a fluke but the wings I got were overcooked on the outside and hard to chew. Though the outside had flavor, the actual meat was pretty bland. BUT the sliders were sooo good! Had the pork, cheeseburger, and chicken. All three were equally good. I like the pork so much that a few days later I got it as a burger and it was great. I've always stop by to grab a burger and one of their many craft beers. Food and service is usually good. So that's why I don't understand this bad experience with the guy/security at the door that didn't let us in on a saturday night at 7pm to grab a bite and all because he just assumed that we were under 21 I think, my friend is 20 but I'm not and he he hasn't asked for my ID either... really??! This place is so cute. I came during happy hour and the ambience is very chill, low lighting, perfect for dates. This place is definitely great for big groups, there was a table of 10 behind us and they were well accommodated. Their mac and cheese with pork was amazingg and so was the hard cider they had on tap that night, cant remember what it was. They serve up popcorn like how some bars give you peanuts to munch on.
