Dr Nyer was absolutely amazing with my Dentist fearing 8 year old. He was silly with her. Played with her teddy bear and was super fast although thorough. He also took the time to show me her teeth while doing her cleaning, how they are growing, and her X-rays, then proceeded to tell me what to expect and answer any questions i had. In fact the entire staff was great from walking in the front door to leaving. I was given a cute ring on my way out that said happy Mother's Day. The office itself is freaking awesome. My daughter was seen promptly within 5 minutes of my appt time. The decor was fun and perfect for kids. Tvs above the chairs to distract scared children or just entertain. I saw noise cancelling earmuffs as well. And clean...the office was immaculate. read more

My children have been coming here for years. As of recently, we have a few missed visits due to back to back sickness between all of them. Covid twice and also the stomach flu. All things that are out of our control. This office decided to block us from making any more visits because of this and told us to call our insurance to find a new dentist. This is totally unprofessional and completely out of line. I am aware of their policy but this policy shouldn't pertain to people with sick children. I would advise everyone and anyone to stay away from this office. The dentists are good but the other employees that work in this office are horrible. You should be ashamed of yourselves for telling sick children they can't come back to the office for missing visits. read more

Today my 3 year old daughter had her first dentist visit with Dr. Nyer. My daughter is autistic and was crying the entire time but Dr. Nyer was patient and delicate with her. He was also very knowledgeable and engaging. The office was clean and the check-in process was smooth. There was minimal wait time. This is an update from my previous review 3 years ago. Dr. Z has been an angle sent from heaven. He has made all my children feel very comfortable and relaxed. Unfortunately, my youngest who is 4 and already had bad front teeth (my fault, don't worry I learned from my mistakes), chipped her front teeth and Dr. Z managed to fixed them all up. He was very gentle and walked her through every step of the process. I don't know what I'll do without Bronx Kids Dentistry. We are truly grateful that we found this hidden gem in the Bronx. Dr. Z and the staff were great. We got an appointment in the same week, and we were called right in after check in. No wait time at all. The office is super clean down to the vents on the ceiling. Everyone made my son, who suffers from severe anxiety, feel so comfortable. He can't wait to go back. The dentist and the office are great. My only issue with the practice is that they only book appointments a month in advance and then they are hard to get. Most dentist offices allow you to go in for a check up and make your following check up six months out. Also, they often offer appointments in the middle of the school day which require my child to miss a full day of school? If you work with kids, you need to have after school and weekend hours so kids don't have to miss school. read more

I love this dental practice all around. It is clean and spacious and not over run with patients / appointments. Meaning , the waiting area is organized , serene and not chaotic. Each patient room is clean, spacious and welcoming. Windows really help with natural lighting. The entire space is designed to engage the children with bright colors and art geared towards adolescents. They theme the office for practically every holiday and have monthly contests based on said theme. It's fun for everyone. Most importantly and what I cannot stress enough - The entire staff is polite, professional and understanding from phone call to visit to follow up. The doctors are caring and really put the children and the parents at ease. I'm very happy to have found a dentist for my children where we are treated so well and kindly. I additionally feel that they do not take advantage of patients financially and have fair rates after insurance considering the professional treatment received....which isn't very easy in my opinion , to find in the Bronx. read more

I brought my 10yr old son here to get 4 baby teeth extracted. Since he was going to have teeth extracted. I had him eat lunch since after that he wasn't going to be able to eat. I know now, that wasn't the best idea but please noted. I was never told by anyone in the office that he couldn't eat. When the dentist put a rubber piece in his mouth to hold it open. He started gagging and then he started to vomit. I got up right away and was able to catch most of it in my hand (as mothers we go above and beyond for our kids). My sons looks at me crying covered in vomit "I'm sorry mom" my heart broke. I assured him "you have nothing to be sorry about things happen" "it's okay"!. I cleaned him off as best I could. As we walked out of the room to the bathroom(which is in the waiting room). The older woman receptionist looked at us with disgust. She handed me wet paper towels. Someone was in the bathroom. So, I took my son to an empty room as the dentist and dentist assistant cleaned the room. I guess the wet paper towels were dripping water.. as we were walking because I didn't even notice. I was more concerned about my son then their floor. She walked out to the waiting room and told the younger receptionist " can you get the swiffer? This lady is dripping everywhere" my husband was in the waiting room and overheard. Look I understand vomit is awful but the way this older woman was reacting was very unprofessional!! She's working in the medical field and with kids! Stuff like this happens and she made us feel like we did something wrong. How would she feel if this was her son or grandson. Other than this older lady. The staff was very understanding and helpful. DMD Daniel is amazing and made my soon feel relaxed and the dentist assistant went above and beyond!! She was great! Best first dentist visit ever! Dr. Nyer was great with my 2 year old daughter who screamed and wailed the entire time he was cleaning and flossing her teeth! Dr. Nyer was efficient and thorough fully explaining to me how to brush and floss her teeth. He made an unpleasant visit as pleasant as could be under the circumstances. He was great with my 7 year old son son who was really anxious. He explained my Son's xrays to me while explaining to my son the importance of brushing and flossing..this is truly an amazing dentist office! I highly recommend Dr. Nyer to all parents! read more

Just came from my sons first appointment and I couldn't be more excited to have him seen at the Bronx kids pediatric dentist office. From my very first call I was pleased. Amazing service from the front desk. Our doctor was lighthearted and funny and made the experience for us (1st time parents) and my child so easy and yet informative. I would recommend to ANYONE with a child & I wish they would take me. Easily the best dentist experience myself or my husband has ever seen & quite frankly been jealous of. && they have parking!!! Had a great experience with my 26 month old autistic son. The office was clean, new and very kid friendly. The staff was friendly and we didn't wait long to be seen. The Dr was great and very informative. He was gentle with my son who was clearly afraid (his first dental visit). Gave him a quick cleaning and some tips on brushing and oral health and we were happily on our way. Oh and we even got a goodie bag to take home with us. My kids have a deep seated fear of the dentist. After a horrible experience last year that will be forever burned into their psyches, the folks at Bronx Kids did everything to make kids feel welcome and comfortable. The staff was kind, the doctor friendly and patient, and his 3-minute stand up right before the work began was great. Everything was fine until they saw (cue doomsday music) the chair. Tears began to roll, and there were pleas for mercy, but the doctor was great at reassuring them and got through the whole ordeal without a hitch. They didn't take my insurance and they'll have to submit a claim that I probably won't be fully reimbursed for, but it was well worth it. read more

I absolutely LOVE this dentist. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by their awesome friendly staff, who greeted my son by his name and made him feel comfortable. We waited about 5 minutes and were called in, i was very nervous being that it was my son's first dentist visit. However, all the nervousness went away once greeted by doctors Nyer and Zultowsky. I felt so comfortable with the doctors taking care of my son. They were extremely friendly and knew exactly what to do to distract the kids from feeling scared or nervous. The office is beautifully setup with beautiful colors and kid friendly decorations. My son was so happy with his cleaning. As a worried, nervous mother i searched the internet over and over trying to find a great dentist. After finding this place i will NEVER look again!! The staff members are extremely competent as well as friendly. The office space is clean, colorful, and charming. Dr. Nyer was informative, assuaging of my parental anxieties as well as the fear of your child. I never knew that children under two could use small amounts of fluoride toothpaste until I made my first visit to Bronx Kids. I recommend this office because my daughter normally screams from beginning till the end of her doctor's visits, but this time, she only screamed during her teeth cleaning and examination - which is a feat.
