I was told to pay $850.00 for a bone graft for a implant because the dentist said it was necessary and my insurance did not covering only then to be told that the implant is too long and that I would have to pay addition hundreds of dollar for a sinus lift after my insurance gave authorization for the implant. Total scammers Lied about submitting a claim for an implant and told me the claim was denied. When I called my insurance, they said no such claim was ever submitted. Wait time is horrible.. just know what ever time you are scheduled for add an extra hour plus before you are even going to be called to the back. Clear out your entire day for a dentist appointment. There is no regard nor compassion for patient time. Essentially you're just another billing number. Minimum 45 minute wait to be seen, and that's an emphasis on the minimum. Furthermore an appointment time really just means sign in and wait till whenever they are ready. Your obligations, work, school etc has no impact, they do not care. You will sit and wait, similar to the DMV office. I am a working professional so it is a slap in the face that each time I have to wait a hour to be seen, and my schedule is very limited so it was a complete waste of time and I had to leave due to excessive waiting. When asked if I'll be seen soon they said it'll be some time. Despite already waiting 50 minutes. I do not recommend, lack of compassion, and regard for basic human schedule. read more

This office uses new technology and have excellent hygienists so I expect positive dental outcomes. However, they routinely overbook and the wait time has been extremely high. I can't recall coming here without being seen at least 30 minutes after my appointment time, and at times, over an hour after my appointment time. For example, they recently scheduled my hygienist and my dentist 2 hours apart in error, and the front desk person tried to tell me I was a "no show". I ended up leaving my most recent appointment in December before seeing the dentist because the wait time was too long. From my experiences, this practice has no regard for their patient's time. I had an appointment today for a routine cleaning. I went to the window to sign in. I asked the receptionist if the hygienists was in. She said yes and to take a seat. Not even 10 minutes later I was called in. They led me to the room to get an x-ray. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told them I already had an x-ray at my prior visit and that I didn't want another. The person taking the x-rays told me it was ok and told me to go back to the waiting room and to wait for the hygienist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]About 10 minutes later I was called in by the office manager. She told me that I needed to get the x-ray and see the dentist and that it was protocol before each cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her that it was not required because my insurance covers 4 cleanings a year and that the only time I would get an x- ray would be at my routine yearly check up or if I was in any pain. The office manager then told me that I could not get my cleaning because the dentist would need to see me first. I refused the x-ray and I walked out. This is not the way to run a practice. I know what my insurance allows and not allows. How is possible that they denied me my cleaning because I refused an x-ray? I waited so long for my cleaning. I was scheduled to go in November and they cancelled on me. The office rescheduled me for February. I normally don't write reviews, but this one is warranted. First, it would have been nice to have a zero-star option; one star is too much. Last night I had a dental emergency (my front tooth/crown broke) and so I decided to go to Hutchinson Metro Dental because it was the only dentist near me open on Saturday. This was a big mistake; the service was terrible! I used to be a regular customer years ago; and today I was reminded why I stopped going there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First it started with them not taking my phone calls; I called several times and no answer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then I decided to drive 25 mins like at 9:30 AM and they gave me the appointment for 3:00 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front desk girl was very rude - she definately needs people skills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, to me that was not a real concern. I came back for the 3:00 pm appointment and arrived early at 2:20 pm. I had to wait until 4:00 pm to be seen by this dentist that clearly was incompetent, rude, unprofessional and careless. I believe his name is Dr. Choi. This dentist did not even review the x-ray or examine my tooth situation. The guy came and looked tired, and clearly had no interest in doing anything. I honestly think that he just wanted to charge for the visit (easy insurance money), but without doing his job. When I noticed his lack of interest, I told him the reason why I was there - to see if something could be done temporarily. Dr. Choi immediately said "no", but then offered a "temporary bridge alternative" when I asked again. I then asked about future permanent work, and he basically said that he could just do another bridge glued to my teeth. I had already done a little bit of research and knew that a post (implant) could be installed for a permanent crown. I questoned him on that and he said that only the bridge could be done, but again without even examining my tooth situation. I asked Dr Choi if he could only then do the temporary bridge because I wanted to get a second opinion from my regular dentist. Dr Choi refused to provide service "because the permanent work would not done by him". This is why I'm writing this review; this dentist was unprofessional and unethical. Julia B, I find it strange that I've been calling your business office everyday to talk to a supervisor or manager. You said "your team of patient-coordinators is here to help" and not one person from the team returned my calls to date BUT you can respond on Yelp. Very professional. How would the hygienist know to charge him $375 before looking in the patient's mouth and knowing how much antibiotics he would need? If the hygienist knew by looking at the Xray's, then Elizabeth should have been able to tell me about the antibiotic and price before he came for his treatment, especially since he needed medical clearance and the antibiotics was not mentioned on the form or to me beforehand. You're saying it's up to the patient but telling the patient "the day of the procedure when the patient is in the chair they can get an infection if they don't get the $375 antibiotics"...that's called a rip-off. There was NO payment option or payment plans offered. I was told I had to pay entire amount upon leaving. When I said I'm paying half, the receptionist went to get the hygienist to tell me I had to pay in full when I was just told about the antibiotics when he was sitting in the chair before his cleaning...a rip-off. Everything that's going to be done as far as cost, procedures and antibiotics should be told upfront. It's funny that Hutchinson Metro claimed 5 units of localized anesthetics, costing $75 each which totals $375...very interesting. And my insurance told me the patient also has a remaining balance due. So you charged him $375, and think the patient owes you more money. All I can say is DO NOT SEND ME A BILL. read more

Here I am at Hutchinson Metro Dental and as always I'm waiting after they texted me 3 times as a friendly reminder to arrive at 1:00. I arrived at 12:53. I make it habit to arrived to medical appointments on time to show I respect their time. I haven't been here since last year because they are not respective of their patients' time. I was called in for X-rays which took 5-6 minutes. Next, I was asked to be seated outside both hygienist's room to wait. As I'm waiting time is going by so I'm here 35 minutes and the cleaning of my teeth have not begun. I support all my union efforts so I use the recommended vendors and I take care of my teeth so it's not intensive work to be done. Therefore, in and out should be the way. I think Hutchinson Metro Dental practice is proficient in the actual cleaning of my teeth but inefficient in scheduling. I think I'll be leaving at 2:30 even though I arrived on time. It's 1:44 now and I'm still waiting. I left the dentist at 2:35. Also the waiting area is still too small even though covid restrictions have been lifted they need more space. Receptionists are genuinely customer friendly but the rest of the staff fake friendly. I'm going to give 3 stars because the facility is clean and the skills of medical staff are good. read more

I have to find a new pediatric dental office for my daughter, because this Hutchinson Metro Pediatric Dental place is going down the drain. Been a patient for roughly 8 years now , and i must say , it seems like the level of professionalism is declining . I have gotten several procedures done thru the years, with no complaints, but this past year it seems like new staff coming in, is watering down the brand ,including the doctors . Last two procedures done where filling repair & crown placement , doctor seem to be inexperienced. Its been 3 weeks and i have lots of sensitivity in filling area & in crown placement area doctor was not gentle when grinding teeth around gums which caused area to get infected , plus temporary cap put up tooth seemed to never adhere in office , as soon as i got home cap fell out . I was called yesterday by staff to confirm an appointment for today, No issues. I was then called again today and left a voice mail to come in earlier. I called office back and explained unfortunately I was unable to do so and would be in at my regular appointment time. I come into office and the front staff LIES to my face stating they tried contacting me all week to let me know the doctor was not in today. I told front staff that no one called me and informed me yesterday nor today when I spoke to a staff member . The front staff then proceeds to say " oh we were just going to put you in with another doctor". NO MA'AM that is not how this works. If you actually knew what you were doing and you would see my type of insurance requires me to be assigned to a specific doctor. It should be up to the patient to decide if they want to see a different provider. Patients should be informed( it's called communication) PRIOR to their appointments and not be lied just to cover yourself. I would have more respect for you if you were honest. As I am in the waiting room, another patient proceeds to explain to me that the office did the same thing to her husband and how the office staff just does not care. I proceed to speak with a manager who also LIES to my face. I explained the issue, she apologizes and then proceeds to tell me that the doctor I see no longer works on Fridays. Lol Ma'am today is THURSDAY! I have no issues with my hygienist. I've been given good service when it comes to my teeth. However, the customer service here is the worst! EVERY time I go if my appointment is at 3:30 I'm always seen 45mins to an hour later.
