I used to come here for BJs and buy a lot of stuff and boy is it packed to death on Sunday mornings! Parking lot is always filled up and lines to pay are mad long! Got to wait forever! I guess people like to do their errands on Sunday mornings! so yesterday I came here again to go to an event and saw that there is a Lidl supermarket and not much of a change since the last time I came here in 2016. Parking lot is huge and spacious for many cars. Plenty of escalators and elevators to go up and down the terminal. There are so many shops to get your goods like Target, BJs, Home Depot, Best Buy, Burlington, Food Bazaar, and Chuck E. Cheese. It's nicely lit with many lights when it gets dark so you know you won't be lost. Many signs to guide you everywhere and in and out of the terminal. It is also a few blocks from the 149th Street Concourse train station to get the 4 and 5 trains so it's convenient to the train.

I wish they would put a movie theater here at this mall. I feel like they should also have 24 hour staff to clean up this terminal.

Located between 116th and 119th Streets off the FDR Drive, it's a breeze to get there with the #6 subway, or city bus. I took the First Avenue M15. There's multi-level parking, though not cheap from what I heard. Current retailers in addition to Costco include Aldi, Ashley Home Store, Burlington, Marshall's, Bob's Discount Furniture, Planet Fitness and a couple of medical concerns. Reading a friend's review, I guess I'm lucky that the escalators and elevators were running. Apparently, they're frequently out-of-service. Realistically, if the same shopping mall was outside of NYC, it likely wouldn't make it. But one's expectations change in Manhattan.

There is a Planet Fitness on the 3rd floor and also a medical center on the 4th floor. Stores used to be open later, but now, due to crime, most of the places close early. Target closes at 8pm, and the other stores close by 9pm. Even the Planet Fitness that used to be 24 hours is now closing at 11pm on weekdays and 7pm on the weekend. I like working out at the Planet Fitness here since it's usually not too crowded and is maintained clean. The main issue seems to be that the escalator is often out of service. I usually then just go up the stairs by the parking area, but they should maintain the area better.

I went there to shop, and as soon as I walked onto the floor, security started following me. Being followed around ruined my entire shopping experience. Every time I go there, it feels very uncomfortable to shop. They have police at the entrance and security harassing Black men as they try to shop. Burlington Coat Factory is a terrible place for a Black man to shop because they racially profile you as a criminal. It's located in a Black community, yet it targets Black men while they're simply trying to shop. It does not feel safe shopping there. You're treated as guilty before you're even seen as a customer. I hate that Burlington Coat Factory made me feel this way. Just a terrible place to shop. "Boycott this Burlington Coat Factory!"

So I was about to spend some quality time in here however my bladder was acting up and they claimed restroom was not in working order. Management if you want people to spend time and money in your store make sure to have a restroom available. It's completely unacceptable and waste of time for your customers to go find a restroom that they can use. I went downstairs and asked Raymour and Flanigan if they knew of a public restroom and they were so kind to let me use theirs. Did I bother going back upstairs to Burlington? No. Why should I? What if I have to go to the bathroom again? I think it should be illegal for stores not to have restrooms available for their customers

When we returned a few days later, the store was relatively quiet, lines were short, and we did our business vowing to shop only on weekdays. I'd never been to an urban Costco. I was hoping (though not optimistic) that perhaps they accommodate city-dwellers with smaller containers of Kirkland detergent. Nope. Merchandise was the same as what I'm used to, which (other than that heavy thing of detergent) is good. Same-priced rotisserie chickens, same smoked salmon, same drug products. Same everything. The store is undoubtedly dingier than what I'm used to, but it's stocked, albeit with a little less than their suburban counterparts. What got me was check-out. Thursday late morning, the lines were nuts. Are they giving things away?! While I won't penalize a store for its popularity, I'm not sure I'll be back. With a teeny apartment, I can't buy or store much. Unless it's something I realllllly want, I'm not wasting time for four or five items behind scores of people with full carts. The hotdog line however, was relatively short. Hmmm.
