May is the best! My nails look fabulous and it lasts for a long time. I also appreciate that May works fast and is always prompt. I would have never heard of this place even though it's been here for quite a while if it wasn't for a website that ran a promotion. So you will not see this place off the side of the road, it's lodged in the corner of a two story professional building. I enjoyed my session and felt that my therapist was thorough. They do not take walk ins so make sure you have an appointment. Sunday hours are limited. I had a manicure/pedicure and everything was nice. Not a professional nail salon by any means. The gel polish that they use is not Gelish or Shellac it's something I've never used before at any salon and it didn't last more than a few days before it started chipping, definitely not gel. They do not use new supplies (cuticle cutter etc) and they didn't soak them either to clean them, gross. Also this place looks like a hot mess there are cables and about ten extension cords running on the floor and their version of a spa pedicure includes a small tub of water on the floor in front of a booth which kept moving and made it uncomfortable. Probably the best salon in South Florida I have had the pleasure of visiting and I have been to many. It is definitely the cleanest I have been to. Not only do sterilize, disinfect and sanitize all of their tools, but they literally use a new nail file each and every time on a new customer, and to top that off, they do not double dip into their nail polish. They use a little container pour out the polish they are using and only use that on you.. AMAZING. The gel manicure never peels or chips. Its a long trip for me and I can't always make it, but every time I go someplace else I am disappointed. Going in for a gel mani and a pedi next Monday. Can't wait. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only other nail salon I'll be going to from now on! Located on Griffin Road, this one-of-a-kind gem gave me a nice treat during my gel manicure today. Because of Joan's review, I was eager to get my nails done with Cheri. She took her time to explain to me that her gel manicure differs from any other I've experienced before. She went over the steps she would take to complete my manicure and assured me that it would last longer than any other gel polish I've ever had. After being offered coffee & water, we settled in to start my service. Cheri was a pleasure to speak to and I was also able to meet Sarah, the other nail tech. Both ladies are characters with great conversation and light hearted laughter. After much thought, I settled on the French polish for my color. Cheri applied the polish with such precision & did the white freehand which is quite a skill, especially with the gel polish! Be sure to call well in advance because they get booked up very quickly! They're in the process of expanding so perhaps availability will open up more later on. Gel manicures start at $25 so they are priced in line with other nail salons in the area. 4.5 stars! The only reason why it doesn't get a perfect score is that it's a bit difficult to get appointments in. The salon is very quaint and located in Pine Lake Plaza, so it might be a little hard to find at first but I didn't really have a problem. Otherwise, I had the BEST pedicure done here and arguably the best gel mani! The techs were attentive, professional, and made sure that you ended up with exactly what you wanted. The prices were incredibly reasonable considering the service you receive! As someone who has a degree in microbiology, they did an impeccable job with cleaning so that any germophobe would be pleased. The studio is very small and cozy, with 2 stations for manicures and 1 for pedicures, but I would for sure recommend this place! Online scheduling is very easy and probably your best bet when it comes to making appointments because everyone had their hands tied in there (figuratively and literally haha). I received a Groupon offer as a gift for this nail salon. It was $19 for a gel overlay manicure. I have never had a gel overlay done on my natural nails before, only ever had acrylics put on. May was the woman who I set up an appointment with. The salon is located in a very unexpected place and was a little hard to find if you are a first timer there but once I found it I was pretty impressed. There were two women working and it was only myself and one other client there at this time. They had music playing and even offered us a drink (water,coffee, etc). The ladies were very friendly and personable. This was my first time having an actual conversation with my nail artist. May even walked me through step by step of the process since I had never had this type of manicure before. She made sure that I was comfortable and made my experience very nice. After it was over, they offered to give me a coupon for the next time I come in and explained to me that we could communicate via text or I could call or go online to set up my next appointment. The price is about the same if not a little cheaper than going to any other salon but they are always running promotions and specials. I loved the fact that they were very natural and clean! They did not use the same brushes that come in the nail polish container. They poured the polish in a little cup and used a new clean brush. They also do not use the same buffer tip on more than one person and same goes for the nail files. They do not do acrylic/fake nails and only use your natural nails. I just went yesterday so now we will see how long the polish lasts before shipping or wearing out but so far I am very pleased and I will be booking an appointment for my pedicure next =] read more

Absolutely the best! I have been going to this salon to get my nails done for four years. I've had my nails done by both Cheri and May and get gel pedicures with Brenda. They are always super busy and book quickly but are more than accommodating of my busy ever changing schedule. I avoided getting my nails done on a regular basis for years because I am extremely hard on my hands/nails in the gym and I compete on a regular basis. HORRIBLE DARK UNCLEAN BUSINESS I used a groupon for a gel mani with May. Within an hour of departure, my nail polish bubbled up and looked like a mistake. I returned to the salon and May blamed me for "moving my hands" in the light ! REALLY??? She suggested I "book an appt online" to REPAIR since she had no openings today. I asked to return tomorrow. Ive been to this salon for about 3 times and all i can say is that the atmosphere is very positive and cherry, the owner is extremely kind and nice. The only reason why i rated this place 3 stars its because i would go get my gel manicure every 3/4 weeks and one day, i decided to go to my other place because they had booked all week. The lady who was taking the gel off told me that who ever got the gel done to my nails before wasent gel, and that they were weakening my nails by shaving the nail with a machine they use everytime they take the "gel" polish off and it took her a while to take her off. After that i never came back. Also the pedicure i would rate it 3 stars, if you are the kind of person who likes to get your feet scrubbed and get all the dead skin out then dont go because you will get upset and feel like they barely touched your feet. read more

I am a client of Brook and Hearth Salon. I don't usually write reviews but I felt compelled to do so in this case.I am a client of Cheri's for many years now and I have always have been well informed of the procedure and the products that are being used on my nails. This is a matter of great importance to me because I am one of those people that are allergic to acrylic! Calling someone unethical because you were in fact misinformed by your regular manicurist ( who by the way should know that acrylic can be soaked off with the proper solution) just doesn't seem fair. If your manicurist truly thought it was acrylic, why did she rip off layers? There is certainly a better way to get acrylic off. Whose the unethical one now, I wonder? That being said the nail techs at Brook and Hearth are are extremely professional and go above and beyond to please.Cleanliness is very important to me, nail fungus is not pretty! Any polish that is to be used on your nails is poured out of the bottle into a small bowl and a clean sanitized brush is used on each client and never put back in the bottle! I have never seen this done in any shop. You never have to worry about using the same nail brush or polish as someone else.Tables and equipment is spayed and wiped after each client right in front of you and nail techs wash their hands before every manicure. I have never gotten a pedicure but I'm sure the same procedures are followed. As for my nails, they are always done to perfection. Cheri takes her time and never rushes me out the door as many manicurists do,she is considerate as to what my personal preferences are and will gladly change something if I do not find it to my liking.My nails never break and never ever lift, I get manicures every three or four weeks and only because they need to be filled but never because of lifting chipping or breaking. Last but certainly not least, after every manicure you will get and hand and arm message now that's, above and beyond! This has to be the worst place I have ever gone to have a manicure and pedicure. First it was extremely difficult to reach them by phone. Their voice message says to text them for an appointment. That was a warning signal for sure. The pictures shown on their website makes it look like a nice place but it's far from that. I had purchased a Groupon for a spa pedicure and a gel manicure for myself and daughter in law. The girl in the back room who did our pedicure was very nice and did take her time with us. I got the impression she hadn't been doing this very long. It was her 2nd week. As for the manicure, it was nothing more than a polish change. The owner did the manicure. She did not have us soak our nails. She did not trim the cuticles and used a heavy grade sandpaper to file our nails. After the polish was applied she then put cream on our hands. Another thing I found annoying was she was texting every few seconds. It's just rude. It's hard to believe all the positive reviews I read before going to this place. Maybe the lack of service is because it was a Groupon. If they don't want to give full service for Groupon customers maybe they shouldn't be part of the Groupon program. read more

I was introduced to Brook & Hearth via a Groupon. Am very glad I did. May did a regular gel manicure which turned out very good. She suggested that I, going forward, do a protective gel manicure which will eliminate the soaking off process necessary for the regular gel manicure. I read the literature she gave me and made an appointment for 3 weeks hence. Had a pedicure w/Brenda. Very nice. The salon is so very friendly. Everyone in the room is included in the conversation. I had a wonderful experience on my first visit; however after my second visit I ended up with a nail fungus!!! Beware because the place is cozy but at the moment dealing with a nail fungus I wish I had never gone back. Other places where I have had pedicure I noticed the tools came out of a sterile package but now that I think about it my tools were just laying there. I assume they were sterilized but obviously not long enough. So beware again, the place looks cozy but apparently no one is there to make sure workers are keeping their tools properly sterilized! I recently visited this salon to get a gel manicure that I had purchased through a local discount program. When I arrived, I walked in and found a very small space where 3 manicurists were working. Though it was a small, the ambiance was nice. Low lights and music. But that's where the good news ends. I sat down and the girl started working on my hands, using an electric filer. I asked why and she turned to the owner as she seemed to disapprove of my question. The owner stated that is how they do the gel manicure..because they use "a special base", not the regular one that is supposed to be used with the gel products. Well, I conceded since I figured they knew what they were doing. I had the manicure since it was prepaid and then I left. BTW, I tipped (20%) of the actual cost not the discounted amount. Forward 3 weeks and I go to my regular manicurist to get another manicure. She follows the proper procedure, soaks my hand and then attempts to remove the "gel" polish..well it would not come off...after scraping the nail, apart from the pain, it tore a couple of layers off my fingernails. Well, as it .turns out the salon "B&H" had actually used acrylic on my nails without my consent. They never informed me, nor did I request for the acrylic base. Apart from being unethical, imagine if I would have been allergic to acrylic, like many people are. It was deceitful and I am offended. I will not return, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. read more

I usually don't write and submit reviews but felt compelled to after the experience I had here. I was given two gift certificates for a gel mani/pedi purchased through a discount site and apparently the policy was that only one could be used per each new client and then one additional could be purchased as a gift. Long story short, this was overlooked during the purchase process but when I attempted to make an appointment to use my second voucher I was told no that it could only be used for new customers. When I called the third party site to see about a refund, I was told that this salon was told to honor ALL vouchers as they were paid in full and I was told I could call back and should be able to make an appointment. When I did so today, I received a call back and was told that Sure I could use it if I paid the difference for the service. WHAT! So $20 was paid for the service through the third party and now they wanted me to pay an additional $30 just to use a voucher for which they were paid for. No, sorry. I understand that their policy was overlooked but they got the money and regardless if it's me or someone different, it's the same service. It's a shame that they refuse to honor a voucher that they have been paid for and have instead created an angry non customer who definitely won't recommend them. Sad and bad way to handle a business. In terms of service, it was okay. I don't think its worth what they charge normally ($50) but for $20 I would say it was worth it. wish them luck. read more
