Great food! Fun atmosphere! We are never disappointed at the Brook. Tonight I had their chili-they were so nice to give me a sample before I ordered it, as chili can really vary from place to place. Loved it so I got a bowl! It came with beans in it, which is great with me, but my husband said it is not real chili if it comes with beans-it is "bean stew" but I disagree! My son had the chicken fried steak-he loves it! Comes with a soup or salad too. My daughter in law got a grilled chicken salad, it looked really good. My husband didn't want a full meal, so he just got the mac and cheese and some tator tots. Both were great, I tried them! I have been here a few times and they are also known for their really good burgers. The service was fast and friendly. Had an office lunch today with hamburgers and onion rings. 11 people stated how they hated the onion rings due to excessive breading and no onion. Six months ago the rings were good. I don't know what's happened since then, but do not recommend. read more

This place has the best cheese fries in town. Also, really great food including the salads, the chicken sandwich, really everything you get there is really good. Yes! Best nachos I've EVER had. Get the southwest chicken nachos, you'll never regret it. I had a half portion & it was a good amount so I could only imagine how the full portion is. The nachos were layered, each chip had their elements, which was the plus. So you get the full experience with each chip that you bite into. I also tried their cheese fries, which were pretty dang good as well. Portioned like the nachos, somewhat. They don't lack with the cheese & they other fixings. Tulsa staple is what the Brook is. Conveniently located on Brookside, ample amount of parking in back. Friendly employees, relaxed atmosphere. Decent food, great prices and never had an awful experience here. Favorite all time item here would have to be their mac and cheese it's just delicious and a side will make you hungry for more! I'd hate to see the nutrition facts on this because it has to be bad. Their blackened chicken sandwich was decent not too much seasoning though. Their chicken tenders I liked better. I think this place has some serious comfort food. Can't beat the portions. Great bang for the buck if you enjoy cafe food. They put a wonderful tv in with great definition and I want to come here to enjoy games but I always hate to take a table when it's just me. So I sit at the bar. Then you get a group come in and sit right in front of the beautiful tv. Can't see. And then they stand up and bring friends in, and you can forget it. Don't het ever wrong. This is a great place to eat if you like traditional food. But if you want to watch anything that is big games, don't come here for the big screen. But they do have smaller screens to watch. Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday with a friend around 5:30pm. We got seated immediately, but when we left an hour later, there was a wait. It's your typical diner, and there's a bar in the middle where you can hang out and watch the game on one of the several large screen TVs. The waitress we had was very nice and attentive. She made sure to keep our water glasses full and take our order quickly. We both got the chicken fried steak (my first one) which came with your choice of two sides and toast. We asked for our diner salad to be brought out first and the dressing came out separately so you can control the portions. There was a lot of cheese on the salad (but I'm not complaining). The chicken fried steak was literally bigger than my head and so perfectly fried and crunchy. The steak inside was kinda bland but it was a super filling meal. I got tater tots on my side but the waitress had suggested getting mac & cheese which would have been the move. They do take credit cards and there's bathrooms in the back left of the restaurant. I am from out of town and The Brook was recommended. I have to say this is now one of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa!!! Our waitress, Anna, was fun, knowledgeable and just lots of fun! The side salad was as big as my head, the masked potatoes on my Chicken fried steak was huge! And let's talk about the actual chicken fried steak! It was half the oblong plate it was on!! The gravy was awesome and the steak was so tender. The cfs seasoning was delicious. AND, they offer samples of their margaritas that were at least the size of a double shot. Delicious Food was the only saving grace !!! We moved seats after started getting freeze out in patio area, AC was too cold for me. Once we moved seating, like no waiter wanted to serve us. Our food randomly came about 15 minutes later, 2 burgers/fries- never once did anyone return to ask if food was okay, if we needed anything, if we needed a refill or to-go box. Food was dumped on table, guy returned to collect plates half full of food still - 1/2lb burgers- never offering box or anything else for that matter. I was so irritated I didn't even ask for a box. Then I had to stop another server 7 minutes later to ask for check, Bc previous server never returned. Some dark hair slender girl was circling the restaurant the entire time, would look at my half empty glass and keep walking like it was unnoticed. Good lord these portions are massive, but boy are they mighty fine and tasty in my tummy! They actually have decent queso, which can be hard to find. It was creamy and spicy and delectable! The waiter was very attentive, granted there weren't many people there, but he was very nice. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, which to my surprise, was pretty much a full meal. My friend ordered a chicken burrito. I really don't know what sauce they used, but the flavor was very good. It was almost a mix of ranch and buffalo sauce, I can't believe how well they mixed! That's probably not even the actual sauce, but it was really good. The pasta salad was fine, just a regular pasta salad. Anyway, the meal was yummy and also well priced. LOVE the Brook. If you do anything at this restaurant, you must get the mac-n-cheese. They have a new menu item where you can "build a mac" and order your mac with a plethora of toppings! Their burgers and tots are delicious as well. The serving sizes are abundant and the food is always delivered fast. The only cons I can think of is I wish the mac was a little warmer upon delivery, and the inside of the restaurant could use some sprucing up. read more

I was crazy disappointed during my visit to The Brook on 10-21-2019. The entire place smelled as though it has been mopped with DIRTY mop bucket water. Not really an appetizing scent, to say the least. My gf talked me into sitting and having lunch since we've rarely had anything but an exceptional experience here. Well, I was in for a surprise. My chicken tenders tasted like they'd been fried in the same mop water that the place had been mopped in. For $10 I'd hope a better meal would've been served. Come hungry, leave satisfied. The Brook has a lot of something for everyone in a casual fun atmosphere. I have been here for games, catching up with friends, meeting my friends' babies, late night drinks and snacks. The drinks and food are well priced. You get a massive amount of food for what you pay. I have order meals that come on multiple plates. The chicken fried steak is enough to share. You get a refill with the chips and dips (salsa, queso, guacamole), taco salad is probably the best Americanize taco salad I have had. Everyone loves the mac & cheese. The friend mushrooms are great and so are the nachos and cheese fries. If you are getting an appetizer to share, you still probably won't have room to eat a full meal. It pains me to write a negative review for the Brook because this was my spot growing up! I came here all the time in high school and have some great memories from this local legend. With that said, I returned for the first time in ages this past Christmas and was a little horrified. The thing is, I'm not sure that this place has actually changed all that much. So don't read this review as a note about a decline in quality. Instead, I think my tolerance for my favorite Oklahoma grease pits has just gone down with age (ok, that's a lie--I can immediately think of two equally greasy places in town that I still find delicious--Braum's, Goldie's, probably many, many more). We started out with some bacon cheese fries because how can you not at the Brook? Our eyes were bigger than our stomach, however, and I think the two of us maybe got an eighth of the way through the plate. This was a familiar feeling...even in high school, I barely made a dent into the Brook's portions. Back then, though, I actually enjoyed the tiny fraction of the plate that I ate. What I had back in December, on the other hand, nearly made me sick to my stomach. From the cheap cheese to the "bacon" that could have easily passed for store-bought bacon bits to the endless bed of fries that Chris Christie would even struggle to finish...I wanted to vom. The mac and cheese was also pretty horrid. As another reviewer noted already, it tasted like it was literally covered in velveeta. On a much more positive note, I was happy/relieved to still love their chicken fried steak. They cook it perfectly and, as they do with all of their other dishes, they give you plenty of it. As an expat Okie who struggles to find people who even know what a chicken fried steak is, this gets the Brook an automatic three star rating from me. read more
