Most of the Nurses, CNAs, and therapists went above and beyond. They explained what was going to happen each day, as to therapy, linens, tests, medication ajustments, etc. My wife required assistance with the commode, and they were great in helping her. Linen changed when needed. Therapists there are top notch. Negatives: As with everything in life, there is room for improvement. Pine Hill is understaffed, and Nurses are responsible for 10 to 16 patients at a time. The Commode was not cleaned after each use. (Intermittently) The rooms in the facility were way too warm. Multiple complaints by many patients. (This was a 3 week stay in May.) My Wife has Lipidema and needed wound care, which she didn't get at all the first 3 days that she was there, and then it was minimal. She did see a wound Dr. once a week after that, and the wound care improved. Most rooms are double occupancy, and the facility needs to take more of an active role in controlling the TV volume at night when a patient is blasting their TV after 10pm. Makes it hard for the roommate to sleep. My wife is picky when it comes to food, and said that she wanted no milk, cereal, or Apple sauce. She got all 3 anyway. Eggs and toast were cold when delivered.

I'll start by saying my Mom is definitely a complicated patient, but if they don't have the means to properly take care of someone then say so. The Medicare 5/5 is a joke. My Mom was here twice and sent back to the hospital in terrible condition from neglect. Second time she went straight to the ICU and almost died. Place smells nice, once you get past the front door however- disgusting. My Mom got a UTI and then colonized because of staff unhygienic practices. Always dependent loops in my Mom's catheter every single time I came to visit. No wonder she kept getting UTIs. The food is terrible- I don't see how anyone can recover being forced to eat the slop they feed you. They never communicate like they say they will. They say they draw labs, but how are your lab values so different from the hospital? When questioned the DON makes it like it my Moms fault, not theirs. When I originally came to get her stuff there wasn't a nurse around to get me her personal medication. I made a special trip to come back and get them only to be told that they "discarded" them. PT staff rough with my Mom. Told her, "You want to go home and see your family? Get up" - DO BETTER

I'm not sure what happens after visiting hours but it seems like there is little to no staff to help in the case of an emergency, maybe they are sleeping on the job... or just don't know what they are doing... either way.. this is NOT a place I would send any loved one intentionally.

The physical therapists are amazing and kind, they care. The nurses are overworked, with too many patients that they can't attend to. The assistants are a mixed bag, some great, some not great. The administrator, Blake, really cares and goes out of his way to solve problems. The nurses and CNAs are fantastic. The showers were not only clean, the fixtures and the rooms are very nice. Even the bathroom in my room had very nice fixtures. The bed was very comfortable with good controls. They installed new HVAC so the room temperatures were very comfortable. There is a lot of attention to detail that makes the difference in healing. PT and OT and the therapy room are the best I have ever seen. Best PT and OT I have received in any Skilled Nursing Facility. Best therapy room I have seen. They even have reclined exercise bicycles to regain your aerobic strength as well as your muscle strength. My occupational therapist, Aileen, was top notch. She is very good with connecting with people and is a lot of fun. Wound care was great. Activities is amazing which is a really important part of recovery. I can't say enough good things about Mary. There are great activities every day. This is the only facility where the bingo cards are new and clean. All the rest were disgusting and dirty and barely worked. Plus we had blackjack on Saturdays which was really a lot of fun. Sometimes I would bet it all, knowing that if I lost they would just give me a few more chips to play until time was up. They have puzzles for some people and I took advantage of their coloring pencils and their books until I got my care package from home with my watercolor pencils. The nurses are very good and we had some fun with each other. That is important to me when you are stuck alone in a bed. I would look forward to seeing some of the CNAs, like Lori. A total professional. There were several others who really cared and were great to work with. If you have to go to a skilled nursing facility from a hospital stall until there's a bed open at this facility.
