You spend 8-12 hours out at the smoker, why use inferior pellets?…read more I found myself smoking meats A LOT more during Covid-19. I was working at home, and was able to check in on my smoker more frequently. I was going with a barrel smoker, but ended up getting a pellet stove as well for the convenience factor. The first couple cooks, I just used a bag of pellets from a big box store. They did okay, but I was migrating from full wood-fired smokes to pellets and I wanted something better. I reached out to Seattle Pellets, and Jason was super responsive. He also made it really easy to pick up during Covid. I just pulled up to the shipping dock in SoDo, and he had the bags out there ready for me! I went with a bag of black cherry and hickory. After smoking 3 different times on these pellets, here's my main takeaways: 1. No Dust. I mentioned my pellet stove was new. I clear our the pellets in the hopper after every smoke. The box store pellets left a ton of dust. The Pellets I got from Seattle Pellets had no dust, at all. 2. Flavor. I could taste the difference in the cherry and hickory pellets I used. The box store pellets delivered a smoke flavor, but they had a bunch of other flavors in there as well (they use filler wood like alder) 3. Ease of pickup and use. Like I mentioned, I got the best quality pellets while Covid restrictions were in place and Jason made it super easy for me. I'll definitely be buying my pellets from here on out.

Good quality 100% wood pellets for smoking. Easy to connect with and pick up in the Sodo arearead more

Summary: Failed inspection, zero accountability…read more I hired this company to install a wood burning stove, and the job failed Washington's blower door test due to a half‑inch gap they left around the stove pipe which was brining in cold air into the house. The inspector confirmed it was a major source of air leakage. When I contacted John (installer), he dismissed the inspector, claimed "31 years of experience," and blamed me for not doing my building inspection before he installed the stove. Jeanne (owner) backed him up and sent me multiple pictures of building code screenshots which are no help to me when the building inspector says the job isn't correct. Finally, she demanded a $259 service call just to review their own work. Instead I sealed the gap with high temp caulk and had a retest done, and it passed immediately. The inspector showed me his machine which had measured a decrease in air leakage equivalent to closing a cracked window. When I told them Jeanne and John, all they had to say was that now I've voided my warranty by adding the caulk. No apologies, no attempt to make it right. I wish I would have seen all the 1 start reviews they had on Yelp before I tried to support a local store that is clearly going out of business.

I had asked her to email me the invoice before I paid, and she simply sent me a single number. I asked again for an invoice via email. Maybe she doesn't know how to send an attachment? anyways, that took a couple of weeks (over the holidays), and she starts getting really nasty and threatening. Avoid this "business" like the plague.

Bought one of their most expensive gas fireplaces from Travis Industries. The unit was not…read moreproperly vented when it was installed and Lisac's and Travis both refuse to come out and fix it. Tried to use it one time, just for ambiance but after about 45 minutes my carbon monoxide detectors went off and the fire department had to come out and vent out my house in the middle of winter. I was told by the fire department TVF&R not to use this again until it is properly vented, I called Travis and they told me I need to burn the fireplace for at least an hour to break it in, I told him (think his name was Mark) that it gives off carbon monoxide and he told me I needed to open a window. Of course you probably won't survive! Prior to that incident, Lisac sent out three different techs to fix the unit. Each worked for a couple of hours moving things around and opening and closing vents but never got the unit to do what it supposed to do. This unit is advertised as heating 3,000 square feet, but mine you'd have to lean against the glass to even know it was on. Spoke with Scott at Lisac and he had no interest in getting my fireplace to work, acted like it wasn't their fault or concern. So, here I am with a beautiful and very expensive fireplace that is not good for much of anything. Thank you Lisac's and Travis Industries. Stay clear of both of these companies, there are plenty of other really good fireplace shops and fireplace manufacturers, you don't have to settle ones that just don't care.
