Of course, lofty credentials don't mean much if they're not put to good use, but Khristine continues this rich and sacred tradition by teaching students old and new with thoughtfulness, compassion, individualized care, and great humor. She's very skilled and observant in suggesting alterations and adjustments to facilitate injuries, health conditions, and other student-specific needs. And if you think yoga is only about movement and fitness, you're in for a treat (as long as you have an open mind). Her knowledge of pranayama (breathwork), yogic philosophy, and the other "limbs" of yoga are second to none. The other teachers here are also extremely skilled, knowledgeable and helpful. They bring their own diverse skills and yoga lineages to the community to create a fun, expansive and well-rounded place to learn and practice -- whether you're a brand new student, a casual participator, or a seasoned lifer.

The prop room is organized and impressive! Most of the classes I attended people were really using a lot of the props provided...to help further a pose? or just because they were all high quality props and most people don't have them at home? I would say overall my time spent at the studio was time well spent! Most of the classes have a gentle/restorative vibe and they were accessible for every level and age group. Yoga Village would have gotten a 5 star review from me if some of the classes were a little more strengthening/power style yoga (is there a name for that?) Being able to sample all the classes with the great introductory deal was very cool...I was able to quickly determine which classes would be best for me and to see if I would connect with the instructor. Connie's classes were by far the most organized and clearly taught, I knew she had been teaching for a while because her classes were so well attended and she kept a very nice flow and is very knowledgeable and kind. I also enjoyed the Pilates classes and the Monday night Hatha class. Everyone I met at the studio was kind and respectful of your practice. The overall vibe was very nice. My husband and I had never really done any type of yoga before, but in our initial phone conversation Terri assured me that this wouldn't be an issue. My husband and I like to try new experiences on trips and this was something that we wanted to check off our list and also something. Out of our comfort zone. But we are SO GLAD that we did this! It was so amazing. Terri was welcoming and patient with us as newbies and explained things to us in a way that made sense. The scenery was perfect that day and it truly made our trip an unforgettable one. We highly recommend Terri for newbies, learners as pros for any type of experience!

I called to inquire about yoga classes since I couldn't find the website for this business…read more (Deducting one star for that - there's no excuse to not have a website to make sure your customers can get the information they need.) Someone (who was apparently the owner) answered with just a "Hello?", so I had to ask if it was the business I was trying to reach. Very unprofessional and awkward. (Another star deducted.) She explained that this was her personal cell (like it was an inconvenience that I was calling her at that number!). I told her that this was the number listed on Yelp. Really rude. (One more star deducted.) I said I was calling to find out about yoga classes, and she said she no longer taught yoga. (Then why does your Yelp profile still list it? Deducting another star for not keeping your Yelp profile updated with the services that you actually offer, and for wasting my time.) And with that, I'm out of stars to deduct.

North County Pilates has changed my life! I have a nerve…read moredisease called CRPS, which leads to extreme level 10 pain and long days (weeks and months) stuck in bed. I have been at NCP for 7 months now and I have not spent a single day stuck in bed! Almost all of my pain has subsided and I feel strong and clearheaded, something I had not felt in years!! North County Pilates has given me back my body and my life, I have finally found exercise that I both enjoy doing, and can do even on my worst pain day! If you are disabled like me, do yourself a favor and give Pilates a shot, it is a lifesaver!!

Her classes are challenging and her fun quirky personality make the classes everything but boring. I have also been in the owners classes, by Corlese Todd. Again, another fitness guru who opened the Lab to share yoga based fitness to all, through her passion and love of healthy living.

During my work day, class at the lab is something I'm always finding myself looking forward to. What I love most is the variety of classes available. On days when I need to decompress and relax, I can take a Restore or Stretch and Release class. Sara has such a calming presence and leads such a mindful, restorative practice; it's exactly what I need after a stressful day. On days when I'm craving more of a challenge and want to keep building strength, there's plenty of options. I always enjoy their hot yoga classes, and I've really come to love the newer Strength and Bar classes too. Beyond the classes themselves, the studio just has a wonderful environment.
