I started learning and practicing yoga here in early 2024, and it has absolutely changed my life…read more Khristine is extremely knowledgeable and passionate, having studied in the Ashtanga lineage of yoga in India straight from the late Sharath Jois, grandson of the founder of the Ashtanga method (who in turn studied under Krishnamacharya -- Google these names if you're curious of the significance). Of course, lofty credentials don't mean much if they're not put to good use, but Khristine continues this rich and sacred tradition by teaching students old and new with thoughtfulness, compassion, individualized care, and great humor. She's very skilled and observant in suggesting alterations and adjustments to facilitate injuries, health conditions, and other student-specific needs. And if you think yoga is only about movement and fitness, you're in for a treat (as long as you have an open mind). Her knowledge of pranayama (breathwork), yogic philosophy, and the other "limbs" of yoga are second to none. The other teachers here are also extremely skilled, knowledgeable and helpful. They bring their own diverse skills and yoga lineages to the community to create a fun, expansive and well-rounded place to learn and practice -- whether you're a brand new student, a casual participator, or a seasoned lifer.

It's clear that she has a passion for the beauty of the sound from each instrument she has chosen. But she also has such a deep conviction for the healing she brings to every person in the room. She also puts a lot of thought into each session's theme and you come away floating from the sound, but also more aware of the lessons in it. I look forward to each one. The same is true of Dee's drumming circles. What fun! Her passion overflows and her instrument selection is amazing. I love drumming and how your body feels from the energy of the drumbeats. But beyond the drumming I also love getting to explore all of the different instruments - many of which I have enjoyed the benefits of in Dee's sound baths. It's like adult romper room having fun with instruments from frog guiros to rain sticks to chimes! And because of Dee's big heart, you can be an absolute beginner and feel held and made to feel a part of the experience. She has such an incredible flow for the class, creates such a wonderful environment for her students, and gave tons of variations for folks with different skills. The very first time was yearssss ago during one of the complimentary session with YEE. The hubby was actually the one pushing for us to do yoga together and especially to come here. He has heard great things from several of his coworkers and been on the hunt for a good yoga studio for a couple years now. Not exactly sure what to expect, I decided to try the Gentle Flow class first. It was a great re-introduction to yoga for me. The second time, we went with a more challenging class and did Vinyasa Flow. I did not expect to break a sweat, but it did kick my butt a little bit. Both instructors were knowledgeable and skilled. Their voices and tones were also perfect to create a calm/zen atmosphere. The yoga studio itself is super spacious and pretty open with all glass doors/windows on one side, and high/wooden ceiling. The classes do get full, but there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. A huge bonus is the home grown vegetables and fruits that the owners would bring in from their own farm. They're organic and at a very reasonable price too. They do have a pretty great schedule that offers multiple different classes each day for different levels. They also have excellent offer for new student, which I highly recommend signing up.

It is super warm and inviting and the large yoga room with extremely high wood ceilings is the perfect touch of comfort and charm. Their classes range from beginner or difficult, so there's something for everyone! The owner, Kelly, Is an absolute gem and so welcoming! There is a real sense of community at this place, you feel it as soon as you walk in! Everyone is smiling, chatting and seems genuinely excited to be here. This style of yoga is highly effective on many levels. It allows you to see where your own strengths and weaknesses lie. It can shine the light on your own fears and neurosis but in a very gentle way. My favorite part about Mysore style Ashtanga yoga is the self lead aspect as well as the focus on the breath. The breath in my opinion is the key element to calming the nervous system which in turn creates peace, grounding, and deep inner connection which makes my days go so much smoother. I noticed how much easier it was to get through the holidays this year compared to past years. I am so grateful that this bright human being has brought this opportunity to the Central Coast. It truly is a gift to our community.
