Hmmm, I actually like this mall! I'm a little surprised by the 3 star rating. I visited for the first time last weekend and I wasn't disappointed. First things first - parking is in a garage. $5 for 0-3 hours and then it goes up in increments. $8 for 3-4, $15 for 4-6, $27 for 6-24. Credit card and Apple/Google Pay are accepted. Not a fan of this money grab... it's the biggest con here. If you don't want to drive, the mall is easily accessible by public transportation. The PATH station and the Hudson-Bergen light rail system are right there. There's three floors of shopping, dining, and entertainment. It's clean, bright, and has large glass skylight ceilings to let natural lighting in. The layout isn't the best and feels like a maze... it's a bit of a headache trying to navigate through because the signage is confusing. There's a good variety of stores - you'll find both big/popular and small brands. Some notable ones are Macy's, JCPenney, Victoria's Secret, Uniqlo, H&M, Kohl's, Primark, Sephora, Pandora, MINISO, Bath & Body Works, Zara, etc. If you're looking for luxury/high-end brands, you won't find too much of that here. I'd say this mall offers more affordable options. I popped into a few stores and the employees were all very friendly. What I'm very impressed by is their food court! It's probably one of the better ones in North Jersey. They have a lot of diverse cuisine options (Indian, Latin, Korean, Japanese, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Caribbean, Chinese, Italian), alongside a mix of popular chains and small businesses. Some of the mainstream ones are Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Panera, and Popeyes. I've heard concerns about crime and rowdiness, but thankfully I had a positive and peaceful experience here. I saw a decent amount of security around. If I lived in the area, I wouldn't mind having Newport as my go-to mall for my shopping needs. Since it's a little out of the way from where I live, I won't be coming often.

While the Sears is finally gone, a Primark is coming, and the rest of the mall is still quite lively, with a Uniqlo, Hollisters, a bunch of new shops and jewelry places, some new restaurants, and overall has survived well despite the malls slowly losing major tenants.

This is a decent mall with 3 floors. The first two floors are shops with some restaurants scattered while the third floor has a food court with an AMC. The mall is reasonably well maintained and clean. We frequently go here since we have AMC A-list to watch movies and it's conveniently close. Also, if you're using the PATH, the mall is conveniently across the street. The restaurant selection is OK with the usual fast food offerings in the dining pavilion, cheesecake factory, Kura sushi, Meet Fresh, Panera bread, and so on. Most bases are covered but there isn't any particular standout food venue. Kura sushi is probably the best but it is still a bit overpriced and not the best sushi option. In terms of shops, I don't usually do much in-person shopping but there seemed to be a reasonably good amount of options. There is a decent amount of security at this mall so hopefully they are able to keep the peace and keep everyone safe.

First time coming to this mall loved it open spaces. Busy but doesn't feel crowded. Really enjoyed my first time stopping by this mall.

When I moved into New Jersey back in '89, this was my first mall I visited with friends. I was at the mall last week with my partner in 8 years. The mall seemed different, brighter and nicer than I remember it. Anchored by Macy's, Kohls, JC Penney and a Sears, the mall is large, with two stories of shops and a third, top floor of eateries. The food court on the third floor has a wonderful selection of fast food places. It was nice to see this mall again as one can get here by car, light rail or the PATH train only a few minutes away.
