Friendly little coffee and bagel joint in North Muskegon. Bagels come in lots of flavors, and they're all enormous. I had a French toast bagel, sliced and toasted, with strawberry cream cheese. I could have easily split it with a friend. And I love that the bagel arrived with the cream cheese already spread and the bagel halved for easy eating. Was in on Sunday and ordered 2 lox sandwiches. Requested that everything be put under the Lox because it slides off and is all over the place. I got out on 96 headed to Grand Rapids, unwrapped my sandwich and had the tomatoes and the onions fall into my lap while I was trying to drive. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager. The girl said she was like an assistant manager. I told her to pass my name and number on to the manager so I can talk to him/her about my service. Here it is Wednesday and still no call. I have to go here for my New York fix. The bagels are not as big as back home, but almost! They have lox, which my wife loves. The variety of bagels and sandwiches offered are fantastic. This is a great place to grab a bite to go or just enjoy in a booth/table inside. The bagels are decent, but sure have gotten expensive lately. Nobody there can make a cappuccino to save their lives. I've tried for many years and I've even tried to help by saying dry, extra dry, super light milk --- they don't get it. If I wanted a cup of milk, I'd go get a large ice cream cone somewhere else. We ordered three drinks this morning. There was one person on staff and we were the only customer. We ordered a small hot cocoa, a skinny mocha, and a caramel macchiato with 2 extra shots and light syrup. Easy orders. The hot cocoa was watery, as if it was made with half a packet of cocoa mix and water. But the real issue is the coffees. With one having 2 extra shots and light syrup and the other being a regular mocha, we should have been able to tell them apart. But we couldn't. Both tasted extremely weak and heavy on syrup. The bill was over $15. I do not recommend this place for coffee. read more

I absolutely love this place. The boston cream muffin and the chai tea latte with skim milk is delicious. Also, the apple cinnamon bagel with the apple cinnamon cream cheese hits the spot every time. Had my coffee long before my bagel. Staff was much more interested in socializing and announced twice they were closing in an hour for the holiday to the 3 of us in the store 2 eating and me waiting for a toasted bagel. When I finally got their attention and asked for my bagel they spent the next 3 minutes debating who was supposed to make it. So then they sped up the toaster so I got a half toasted bagel. This always happens when I order food here so I recommend only ordering coffee. read more

I work at the little caesars next door and come in often, service is great but in the mornings my order is never done correctly. i figured it might just be me or the way I ordered so I had a friend order for me. yet again I was met with disappointment. im not a big coffee fan so I always order it as "no coffee. no expresso. decaf. etc." but when I call to ask for a refund j never get through to a pick up and I never get a call back. :( read more

Go on your first day in town and you will want to go back every single day while in town. Need I mention Traverse City Cherry coffee? THE BEST. I frequently ask my mom to stop in and send me some! Having grown up not far from this location, it's not often I gush about anything in particular in the area. However, Brooklyn Bagels is worth shouting about. I only wish I had one nearby here in Atlanta! I literally have not found anything here in this big city that compares as far as fresh, delicious bagels, pastries and coffee. I see one user rated these bagels best in Muskegon - I might be close to being so bold as to say possibly the best bagels in MI. After spending a few hours at the beach (on one of the hottest days in MI in quite some time), my girlfriend and I needed something light and delicious to eat. On our way back to the working world, the Brooklyn bagels sign caught my eye, I said, "Sweets, we need to stop and get ourselves a bite to eat". Well, I was definitely not disappointed. I walked in, and the atmosphere was that of a cozy coffee shop, errr, bagel joint. They had a few board games for patrons to use while enjoying their delicious bagels, sandwiches, muffins, cookies and beverages. Each sandwich had a brooklyn themed name (i don't recall our sandwich names off the top of my head) - but needless to say, these sandwiches were scrumptious. I ordered my lady the vegetarian sandwich, and added turkey - she was most pleased with the turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, black olive sandwich which was enhanced with a most delicious vegetable herb cream cheese spread. I went with their club sandwich; ham, turkey, bacon (which was cooked to the perfect crispiness that I so often desire for my bacon on sandwiches!). I selected the roasted pepper bagel for our sandwiches, and definitely was not disappointed! As I was waiting, their selection of muffins caught my eye: cheesecake, triple chocolate, turtle, fresh strawberry, boston cream just to name a few. I would have to say that THIS was the only downside - I was "forced" into purchasing more than what I came in for. I will tell you this yelpers - their turtle muffin is a chocolatey sensation that should not be passed up. The boston creme was good too, but I couldn't get enough of their chocolate muffin! So Brooklyn Bagels, thank you to a great mid-day break and some delicious eats. I just finished enjoying one of the best jalapeño cheddar bagels I have ever had for breakfast this morning, which prompted me to give you two thumbs up and five stars! I no longer live in the area but used to come here all the time when I did. Just like back then, they messed up my order. It doesn't seem like much has changed besides the decor. One would think you could prepare 3 breakfast sandwiches as ordered, but alas. The service is still terrible as well. I really try not to give bad reviews but my first and only experience here was terrible. The barista lady was very kind but the higher ups were not. I had asked what it would cost to fill a thermos of 32 oz they then made me feel stupid and looked at me like I had asked for free money. They told me we do not allow thermos fills. So I bought a cup (and wasted paper mind you when I had a perfectly fine thermos to do the job.) I then proceeded to fill and get watched like a hawk as if I was gonna steal from them and fill my thermos anyways. I filled up my paper cup and dumped it into the thermos (seriously what a waste of a cup) 2 seconds later an employee walks out and fills up his.....thermos..... he filled his thermos and walked away. Literally everything they were supposedly against just happened by an employee after getting snotty with me about the whole ordeal lol I really was just, shocked. And before it's asked, yes I stated it was 32oz before asking to fill the thermos so they knew what size it's not like I had a giant half gallon one. So all in all with such a terrible first hand experience I cannot recommend this place at all. 2 stars cause the original barista was nice read more

I've only been here once but dammmmmmn those are some giant, fluffy, delicious bagels! My everything bagel had all the everything spices covering all sides of the bagel! Top and bottom. Toasted to perfection and open faced with lox, cream cheese, onion, tomatoes, capers. This bagel sandwich was literally so giant that I could not finish it. It was naughty good and naughty big. Looking for a tasty, quick place to stop when you get off the Lake Express from Milwaukee? Brooklyn Bagels Cafe will not disappoint. Their coffee was brewed perfectly, and wasn't too hot. They also have self-serve, so if you drink it in the cafe, you can have refills. The bagels were good, but I would stick to the 'plain' based bagels, as opposed to one that might be whole grain (i.e. healthier). We stopped for coffee today at the Apple Ave store. The coffee tasted watered down. Mini muffins were stale. Tables were dirty. The bathroom was not clean. Floors were dirty. It was my husband and I's first visit here and I was very excited to try it out when I saw they had a pumpkin drink! Went in, it wasn't busy since it was evening, and ordered a pumpkin chai with shots of espresso along with a blueberry bagel with butter, toasted. My husband ordered one of the cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese and asked for it to be lightly toasted. Got all of our food and went on our way. When we arrived to our destination we unwrapped our bagels to see that his was burnt to a crisp with massive amounts of cream cheese slathered on to cover the burnt bagel. My bagel was also burnt, but I was hungry so I ate it unwillingly since it was the last blueberry bagel they had at the shop. So we got back in the car to return the bagel. My husband went in and they were out of the cinnamon raisin bagels. The girl working gave him a rude look like it was his fault he burnt the bagel and asked him if he wanted a different bagel and he said "no" and wanted his money back. Here's where it gets absurd. The workers there did NOT know how to do a refund, and there was NO manager on staff. Wow. So we had to wait over 10 min. while a worker tried to get a manager on the phone to ask how to do a simple refund. The workers kept asking if he just wanted a different bagel instead of a refund and he kept saying "no, I want my money back." Not happy about our experience here. And adding to the ridiculous experience, something was definitely wrong with the drink since I ended up throwing up later after finishing it. And no I am not allergic to any of the ingredients that were in that drink. Overall NOT happy about this experience. No one even said sorry to my husband about his bagel either or about messing up his request for a lightly toasted bagel. This place will not be getting our business again. read more

I usually love coming here but I came in yesterday to grab a coffee and I was pretty disappointed to see they still have their straw bucket out for customers to grab their own (unwrapped) straw. It's pretty difficult to only touch one straw when grabbing one and I think during a pandemic it is not the smartest option.
