Easily my favorite place to come for coffee during the week. I used to stop in occasionally here and there when a girl friend of mine lived above years ago - and now stop in a few times a week! I love this place and so happy to see it has survived since first discovering it many years ago on my last trip to Muskegon. I rank this place right up there with some of the best coffee shops on the west coast, including Seattle. The cold brew had great flavor. I had high hopes for this place after seeing the reviews. We went in on a Saturday morning, there were a couple people in line and a couple people waiting for their items. There were only two people working, one making drinks and one taking orders. The man making drinks was focused on making one drink at a time which caused us to wait over 20 minutes for one drink. Once he made the drink, he sat it on a table and made the man taking orders call out the drinks which resulted in drinks sitting there for 5+ minutes after they were made. I watched him make my drink and he only put one shot of espresso in it, entirely too much milk, and about 5 ice cubes. I took about 3 sips before throwing it away. The Coffee Factory is cute, cozy, and a book lover's dream. They have a mini bookshop inside - there is a corner book nook which is the main part but there is also a display cart by the front door. There were books of poetry, literature, non-fiction, and children's books that I saw. They have a full coffee menu with a pastry display and large brunch selection. I got the Cafe Miel with oat milk, a chorizo and egg breakfast burrito, and some energy bites - all were tasty. The burrito was the perfect savory start to the day. VERY INTERESTING. It is part bookstore and part cafe. And, the vibes and aesthetics were so hipster-retro-granola-progressive, it reminded me SO MUCH of my hometown of Seattle.... they love their books, social change, and coffee. The staff were nice. What a little coffee/book nook GEM! It's off the beaten downtown Muskegon path, but well worth it to follow the giant arrows on the sandwich board signs to The Coffee Factory. Feels like an oasis of incandescent analog in today's frantic Big Coffee Chain digital world. It's oakey. It's homey. It's overstuffed leather booths and Edison-style light bulbs. There's a built in bookstore. You come here to relax. They got all the coffee joint usuals (coffee is from Madcap) and WAY better nom noms than that coffee conglomerate from Seattle (get the brookie!). Ample parking in their own lot. Enjoying our anniversary weekend on the Goldwing. Still my husband's work never stops. Ever. Coming from Holland, MI we needed at coffee stop for him to hop on a conf call. Yelp never lies. Came through a really interesting neighborhood. My husband kept saying to me - there's no way there's gonna be a really amazing coffee house here what are we missing - is Google wrong what's going on.... Sometimes mapping is way off and we could've sworn this was one of those times. Fantastic find while spending the day in Muskegon! The Coffee Factory is located in a refurbished old factory, so think stone, wood & industrial for the feel. The building itself is on the edges of a neighborhood, so you might think you're lost at first when trying to find it (also, parking is around the back of the building). Once inside, the decor draws you in with an instant "come in, enjoy your coffee, a snack & relax!". My friend & I decided that lunch was a must, plus we love to try new things (we're not vegetarians or vegans, but find those types of dishes delicious!). I really liked the sweet potato & egg quiche with a veggie salad on the side. I was also super excited to find a place that sells MadCap coffee, so I added a mocha to my meal, then finished it all off with a mimosa cupcake for dessert (which had the perfect balance of orange & vanilla flavoring in the frosting). I just moved to Muskegon from Grand Rapids where I lived across the street from madcap coffee. And I just stopped by here and found out they had madcap 616 ready to go. It's the best of the best! And I was extra excited because they never had it ready to go at the actual madcap store. And I got the food and everything was amazing!!! Staff was super nice too. This place is adorable! I can't believe I've lived in Muskegon for a couple of months and just now made it over to check it out. It took me a minute to find where it was located, but once I walked in, I realized that inside was much cuter than I imagined. It's a big place! The chairs and tables are spread out and there's games and work spaces and pretty much everything you need for a good coffee shop experience. I've been in twice now and I think the drinks are good, but the food could be a little stronger. It's pretty basic stuff, like cold sandwiches and quiche with apple slices. I tried a seven layer bar and it was not anywhere close to as good as my mom makes, but hey, I can just live on beverages. Who needs food anyway?? Overall, cute space and friendly service. read more

First time actually coming to the Coffee Factory, my boyfriend usually brings it home for me. He had a mocha and I had a dirty chai, both were tasty. He also enjoyed a cookies & cream cheesecake bar and I had a MASSIVE Rice Krispie treat and was soft and chewy - like they should always be. The only thing that didn't create a good first impression was the lack of counter coverage. It was empty except for one table. We stood at the counter for a couple minutes before I walked around the counter and got someone's attention. I get it, business is slow and stuff needs to get done. But your customers should be your number 1 priority. It won't keep us from coming back or recommending it other people. The coffee was pretty good but the food was a average. The java probably warranted 3.5 stars. However, the english muffin egg sandwich was lacking. First, when I order an egg, bacon sandwich, I expect bacon to be present. After a couple bites I noticed that there wasn't a bacon taste at all. I lifted the muffin top off and didn't see anything. I went up to the counter and said, "hey, there isn't any bacon on this sandwich." The staff member said, "oh, it's in the egg." Really??? Couldn't taste it. Couldn't see it. Couldn't smell it. Where was the bacon? Lame response. Lame sandwich. 2 stars. And toast the english muffin! Hate soft, somewhat toasted muffins. The venue is neat. We appreciated the look and feel. An unexpected surprise! We're here in Muskegon for a week away with the kids. We needed our caffeine fix before hitting the beach (parents you know) and we found Coffee Factory. We nearly drove past it, but when we spotted were like "where are we?" Walked in the doors and we're like "Woa! Where ARE we???" After drooling over the baked goods in the cabinet and convincing our kids they had to share a chocolate muffin, we ordered breakfast to eat on the patio and lunch for the road. Oh, and we got the coffee. Double cappuccinos and then drip coffees for the road. It was great coffee, great food, great all around service. Just go. Love this shop! The location is great because there is decent parking and if you want to, you can hit the beach afterwards! The inside is an open concept, with lots of room and spaces to do work, chat with friends or hangout with yourself. The wifi was pretty slow though, that was a negative... The options are pretty good, could use some more variety, the food is pre-made so that's not very appetizing. Overall, I think it's a great place to chill, drink some coffee/tea and read! Oh and it wouldn't hurt for employees to be more smiley, friendly and helpful, but that's just me being extra! read more
