Brooklyn Chophouse is a vibe! It's an Asian fusion steakhouse inside the Moxy hotel and the food is so delicious. I had dinner on a Saturday night and the ambiance was modern, sexy, chic and upscale with a live dj playing hip hop, r&b, reggae and Afro beats. Our server was great and made some amazing recommendations from the menu. I usually always start with a glass of prosecco and it was cold and bubbly, just how I like it. Had the Killa Bees cocktail next and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. I would say I prefer the Asian fusion items over the steaks. I found the Asian fusion dishes were more flavorful than the steak. We did the L.S.D which was A LOT of food for just 3 people but everything was soooo good. The whole pecking duck was an experience and tasted outstanding. They carve the duck table side. The crab fried rice was delightful with large pieces of lump crab on top. Both lobsters were also very good. The tomahawk was cooked to perfection but just needed a little more salt. It's the perfect spot for date night, girls night, or any celebration. Went to Brooklyn Chop House Miami on a rainy night with a friend who was visiting from out of town, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is located inside the Moxy Hotel, and valet parking is conveniently located just steps from the entrance. Parking was a little pricey (over $40), but with the rain and the fact that we were both wearing heels, it was definitely worth the convenience since there really weren't many other options. Once inside the hotel, we took the elevator up to the restaurant (there's even an elevator attendant who sends you on your way), and as soon as the doors opened, we were greeted by the beautiful bar. The ambiance is elegant, modern, and upscale without feeling stuffy. The décor is gorgeous, and the music immediately set the mood. After checking in, we were seated right away. Our waitress was fantastic; very attentive, knowledgeable, and gave us great recommendations. The music throughout dinner was exactly my vibe: hip-hop and R&B playing at the perfect volume so you could still have a conversation. Around 8:30-9:00 PM, a DJ started spinning, which elevated the atmosphere even more without making it too loud. Now for the food... everything was delicious! We ordered the beef dumplings, spicy tuna roll, vegetable fried rice, and the pepper steak, and every dish was flavorful and well prepared. For drinks, I had the Wu-Tang Clan cocktail, and my friend ordered the Lychee Coconut Martini. Both were perfectly balanced and absolutely worth ordering again. I came here with some friends for a hosted event. Although the experience inside was great and I enjoyed my drink and the space, getting to the venue was tricky business. We took the elevator to the second floor, but it was the bar area and we were told we needed to go back downstairs to check in with the host. That's the problem, there was no host; no one was at the door or elevator. After waiting for several minutes a man came from outside asking if we needed help. He scold us that we should have waited for him... but there's no signage posted providing instructions on what to do. Well, well, well. Hello, Brooklyn. Parking is not for the faint of heart, but we managed to score what felt like the last valet spot in a completely packed garage. A promising start. A gentleman in the lobby greets you and happily sends you straight up to the seventh floor, which is a lovely touch. The restaurant is beautiful. Great energy and a vibe that immediately makes you think you've picked the right place for dinner. The cocktails? Absolute perfection. Ten out of ten. Service began warm and welcoming, and the appetizers were excellent. Then things slowly started to unravel. Nearly every dish arrived missing something. A sauce here, a garnish there, a side that simply never materialized. Every omission came with a sincere apology, which eventually became the most consistent item on the menu. We asked for an extra portion to go with the duck. "Right away," we were told. To this day, I hope it's doing well wherever it ended up. The food runner passed our table often enough that I was convinced our request would eventually make eye contact with him. It never did. Nice guy, but attentiveness is apparently a work in progress. Our waiter made what can best be described as guest appearances. His assistant tried, but she also seemed to vanish whenever we actually needed something. Then came the main event. The DJ. With all the hype surrounding the music, we were expecting hit after hit. Instead, it felt like someone's playlist had wandered into the booth and started pressing buttons. She was dancing as though she was delivering the set of the year, and I genuinely admired the confidence because the music certainly wasn't backing her up. The energy was spectacular. The song selection was...a choice. Would we go back? Absolutely. The food is very good, the room is gorgeous, and the atmosphere is worth experiencing. For our one-year wedding anniversary, we were only served water for 45 minutes. No one came to take our order. My husband kept trying to get a server's attention just to let them know we hadn't been helped yet. Eventually, a woman (I'm not sure if she was a server or bartender) came over and said, "What do you want?" Honestly, that caught me off guard--what do you mean, what do we want? We explained that we had been waiting for 45 minutes, and she responded by saying we'd have to wait a little longer while they found our server. At that point, I really wanted to walk out because of how we were spoken to, but we decided to give it a few more minutes. Thankfully, a server named Lauren came to our table, apologized sincerely, and completely turned the night around. Our appetizers and food came out quickly after that, and we were even given complimentary champagne for the inconvenience. Lauren continued to check on us and made sure everything went smoothly. We knew the situation wasn't her fault, and we truly appreciated her effort. The same woman who initially spoke to us rudely later came back to ask if everything was okay. I chose to stay composed, though I was very upset. My husband spoke to her, but I didn't even look her way. She seemed to know her behavior was inappropriate. The food itself was really good, but the service at the beginning was unacceptable. I found this restaurant on the InKind app and made a reservation through OpenTable for a family outing with five people. It's located where a Mexican restaurant used to be. They offer an interesting mix of Chinese cuisine and a steakhouse concept, and the food was excellent. However, the service was terrible. When we asked the waiter about the dishes, he simply repeated what was already written on the menu and didn't provide any additional insight. This is more of a "see and be seen" place with a DJ playing music constantly. The volume was extremely loud--so much so that it was impossible to have a conversation. We asked if they could lower the speaker right above our table, but they couldn't. When we ordered dessert, it took 35 minutes. I eventually had to go to the front and speak with the hostess because our waiter had disappeared. Then someone showed up with the cheesecake, but it still had part of the wrapping paper on it--we had to remove it ourselves at the table. When the dessert finally arrived, I asked for the check. That came quickly, and I paid through the InKind app since no one came back to process a credit card payment. The vibe of this place is more like a nightclub than a restaurant. The clientele tends to dress in very revealing outfits, which is not suitable for a family environment. Unfortunately, even though the food is good, the service and overall atmosphere are not family-friendly. It reminded me of Casa Madera, the Mexican restaurant that used to be here and didn't last long. It seems like this place may be heading in the same direction. Went to Brooklyn Chop House on Friday, 7/24/26 with a group of 6 friends. Let me start by saying the food was excellent and this review is not about that. It is about the service. When you are dining in a restaurant with an average entre price of $60 you expect white glove service. This was anything but. We may as well have been eating in a fast food restaurant. The wait staff was inattentive and clueless. The food was served at all different times instead of bringing the appetizers together and then the main courses together it was served randomly. That's not the kitchen, that's the wait staff's fault and that should never happen in a high end restaurant. We ordered a second bottle of wine that never came and after we were finished eating the waiter rushed over and said "I'll bring your wine now." Obviously we refused the offer, but that is just one example of how bad the service was. The music was good, but way too loud. This place needs to raise the level of service to the level of the food....and the prices. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere else where they know what a fine dining experience is all about. read more
