My husband and I just visited Brooklyn pizza for dinner, we started with some wings, we ordered them extra crispy and naked, so they were amazing, and you can't never go wrong with buffalo sauce! We ordered a 14 inch pizza half Brooklyns House and half Meat Lovers, so the pizza it is hot and fresh as advertised, the crust is crispy, the sauce is delicious, and some good quality cheese, as well as fresh ingredients! The place is clean, and the owner is very friendly and attentive, it was a great experience at Brooklyn Pizza!

I have been remiss in not writing an update for this place. I didn't realize, until this evening, that my initial review was more than nine years ago. Though I might not have checked in every time, I frequented this place many times during the TX 146 construction project -- even after I moved north of the Kemah bridge. And it's always been worth the drive. The pizza here is legit NY-style. Wonderful non-overbearing sauce, and excellent thin crust. Toppings are also clutch, as is the service. (The owner makes the pies; his family serves them up.) This place has always been clean and bright, and that includes the restrooms. It was previously a BYOB joint, until two doofus heads apparently couldn't control their alcohol. Thanks, guys, for ruining it for the rest of us. -- Still, this place remains as delicious as the first time I came here in mid-2015, and we will continue to give them our business.

First of all, the way we were warmly greeted and engaged with when we walked in for a pickup order - A PICKUP ORDER! - made us instantly love this place. The pizza we ordered was top tier NY style, thin crust, crisp yet chewy, nice even cook on the undercarriage. Sauce and toppings were on point, not too heavy and not too light. Best tasting NY style pizza in the LC area for sure! The inside dining area looked small, but they had a some clean picnic tables out on the patio just in time for the cooler weather. Absolutely will be back to try the Sicilian!

Great pizza!! Sauce is amazing. Crispy crust. By far the best pizza in town. This will be my new go to for pizza.

    Calzone

Brooklyn Pizza. So I finally tried Brooklyn Pizza. It was absolutely fantastic. If you're a fan of New York style pizza this is the place to go in Texas. I grew up in New Jersey and New York City and I've been down here for 20 years, but I have yet to find Pizza that was as good as New York city. Well, that has changed. The pizza is fantastic. The quality of the ingredients are superb. Perfectly baked and the flavor was the best I've had in 20 years. Everybody has different tastes in pizza. But if you're from up north and missing a good New York style pizza. It is worth the drive to try this place. I also ordered a Calzone and OMG, it was absolutely supurb. No one in the area makes a calzone like that. I chatted with the owner, and he's a really nice guy and dedicated to his craft. You have got to go and taste what a genuine New York style Pizza truly is. I'll be heading back there often, and I am definitely going to try his lasagna. I'll report back on that.

To go order ready when I arrived. Very friendly staff and the medium pizzas were delicious! Look forward to trying their other menu items.

When we arrived, we chose to sit upstairs to enjoy the pretty ocean view and were served right away. The vibes were great with a lively crowd, a slight breeze, sunny weather, and beach hut inspired décor. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. It is honestly impressive that they serve 50 cent oysters all day, every day, so of course we ordered three dozen. The Gulf oysters were large and fresh, and they did not skimp on the cocktail sauce or horseradish. Even though this spot is pretty far from my house, the oyster deal alone might make it worth the drive. My dad and I also ordered the Fried Mushrooms. They were fried beautifully, crispy on the outside and perfectly bite sized, which made them very addictive. Our waiter recommended the Parmesan Crusted Redfish and said it was the best item on the menu. While it was good, the Parmesan coating leaned a bit salty. That said, it was cooked well and still enjoyable. If I came back, though, I would probably try something different, like the Fish Tacos he also suggested. Overall, between the unbeatable oyster deal, friendly service, and relaxed coastal atmosphere, this restaurant makes for a fun and worthwhile outing. While not every dish was perfect, the value and setting make it a place I would happily return to, especially on a sunny day.

Lupe Tortilla - Kemah Review…read more There are restaurants where the meal begins the moment you walk through the door, and there are restaurants where the welcome feels like an invitation to reconsider your life choices. At Lupe Tortilla in Kemah, our host was gracious and welcoming. We asked if we could sit at the bar, and we were happily shown to two seats. So far, so good. Then came the bartender. She greeted us with the sort of expression usually reserved for someone who has just backed into your car in the parking lot. Plates and chips were tossed onto the bar--technically within the vicinity, though apparently not within reach. We were then asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered a dressed draft beer and a 50/50 Rita. The beer arrived beautifully cold and perfectly poured. The margarita, however, was roughly 90% frozen and 10% margarita--the precise opposite of what we were hoping for. It wasn't exactly the warm beginning one hopes for when settling in for dinner. The food may yet have a chance to redeem the evening, but hospitality is part of the recipe. And when the first course is indifference, even a good meal has a little climbing to do.

The seafood platter we got was extremely salty and really hard to eat anything in it. The boudin was solid, though it was a little oily tasting and was extremely heavy. The fried platter we got was pretty good, as well as the oysters on the half shell. The sandwich and wings were both pretty okay, with nothing really special about either. With so many places here that do a similar thing, though, I feel that this restaurant doesn't strive to do anything to make itself stand out other than certain deals that they offer. Not exactly... there were two spice flavors to choose from, spicy and extra spicy. Our friends went with the extra spicy and said they were very salty. We went with the spicy, they were very far from any kind of spice. We also were not aware that on Wednesday night they have singo bingo, so getting a table is pretty much non existent. Luckily, I saw some friends so we joined their table. The restaurant also has a smoking section. It wasn't super smoky which was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully they will get the spices for the crawfish down because this could be a really great spot!
