We found TokyCobao thanks to a Yelp recommendation, and it was absolutely worth it. Everything we ordered was spot-on. We had the classic maki California roll, wonton soup, miso soup, and their sushi tacos, one cooked and two raw. All were fresh and flavorful. But the real standout was the pork xiao bao. Hands down best-in-class. Perfect texture, great flavor, and something we'd come back for on its own. Customer service was amazing -- extremely friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything. The place is very clean, the vibe is great, and you can tell they care about what they serve. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Rox: 11/10 on food. I am a big time dumpling gal and these were SO good! Big critic of chili oil as well and it passed the test. This will 100% be our new take out spot. You HAVE to get the red oil dumplings and pork xiao long bao!!! Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is there is zero beer wine or alcohol Mike: Hands down everything was amazing, but the sauce on the red oil dumplings was amaze and we even ordered a cup of it to go. Wish I didn't have to run to my truck for a drink every 15 mins LOL! Great place and staff. Highly recommend!

Super friendly staff! Cute place! You can sit down and have your meal while being served or do take out. We started with the crab salad and gyoza. Don't sleep on the crab salad! I like how it's served on wonton chips. I opted for the Beto box for some variety. I went with the teriyaki chicken. It comes with a California roll, rice, dumplings, and choice of soup. Our waiter was amazing!

We've wanted try this place since the sign went up in the tiny strip mall some months back. Our overall experience was good. First, I remember when one had to travel to NYC for Shanghai soup dumplings, and I am so happy that the popularity of this dish has taken off. The soup dumplings here are just OK. While the dumpling itself is thin (which is a good thing) and the broth itself tasted fine, there just wasn't enough of it compared to so many other places. The crispy bottom bao was very good, in my opinion, though it could have been fried in a hotter pan for some improved crispiness. My wife is the crispy bottom bao connoisseur in the family, and she wasn't overly pleased because there was a lot of meat and very little broth. I tend to order eggplant whenever it's on a menu. The eggplant here was served al dente, and it was in a pool of oil. Way too much oil. The flavor was OK, but the eggplant needed to be cooked longer, and I would prefer a sauce over a ton of spicy oil (see photo). Finally, I splurged on hot & sour soup. It is actually pretty good, though it was served warm and not hot. The service here is excellent, and the restaurant is as clean as they come. Despite that this is a small joint, they've managed to get plenty of tables in here.

Was craving dumplings so decided to try this place. I called in my order and went to pick it up. It was pretty much empty inside which should have told me all I needed to know but the staff was polite. I ordered egg drop soup, chicken soup dumplings, side of noodles and scallion pancake. The egg drop soup was way too thick for my liking. I took maybe 2 bites of it and threw it away. The soup dumplings were just okay. I was expecting better, as I've had frozen soup dumplings from a grocery Store that had more flavor and ingredients. The noodles were okay but had a strange odor. The only thing i would consider getting again is the scallion pancake. To say that this was $30 worth of food and I wasn't really satisfied with any of it is very disappointing.

Eat in. Delivery not as good. Egg drop soup was oily and the soft shell crab tasted off.

The restaurant's name is a bit of a challenge to pronounce, but I sure have a lot of really positive things to say about it. Opened since April, Tokyco Bao stands head and shoulders above any other Japanese eatery in at least the League City/Clear Lake/NASA area. And why's that? Two words: sushi tacos. Heck, they're why I came here this evening, justifying my monthslong wait (I was hospitalized and in recovery mode). I love sushi and tacos hence it was a no-brainer that they were the first thing I ordered. Anyone who gets them is greeted by three of those culinary bad boys. Anchored by tempura seaweed taco shell and a piece of seaweed tempura, the sushi tacos can definitely hold their own against the traditional Mexican variety we Texans are accustomed to. The first few bites undoubtedly blew me away. Because it was Japanese fusion, I took the last bite of my last taco using chopsticks. They're the brightest highlight of this place. I'm also a fan of their soup dumplings. If you enjoy wonton soup, you for sure will love these. However, I must warn potential diners that contents filled with piping hot soup so be careful when eating them. A solid starter for sure. While housed in a small shopping center (if you could call it that), Tokyco Bao resembles a fancy-looking cafe you'd find in the Land of the Rising Sun. It's so clean and pristine, even the restrooms. Lastly, the staff excels at customer service. The waiter did his job. Even when closing time was looming, we were still taken care of. Tokyco Bao had a 4.2 rating before I composed this review, to which I say it deserves to be higher.

I wish I'd snapped a pic of all our food, but I was too busy enjoying it! I got the sesame chicken & rice from the lunch menu sooo good! The place was packed during lunch hour, super clean, and had such a nice vibe. Definitely going back!

If you are looking for sushi or something unique like their sushi tacos you are in the right place. If you are looking for homemade dim sum, go somewhere else. We ordered several dumpling options and they were either out or the ones we got were premade, frozen dumplings. I will say the sushi taco was spectacular! Don't miss out on this one. We would come back just for that. Service was good, but the building was a little warm.

First of all, my friend and I saw this by chance when we drove by. Decided to take a chance and u-turn to try it out. The interior decor was unexpected. Super modern and sleek. The food! They had a majority sushi selection with some Chinese influences, such as xiao long bao and some Chinese dishes. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered during our first visit. Various sushi's 4/5, generous slices of fish and smooth as went down. My favorites are the salmon and scallop. The uni was fresh! Hot mama roll 3.5/5, it was good but I felt like there was a lot going on in that roll. Didn't expect it to be fully fried. Calamari roll 4/5, unique roll, was delicious. Pink lady roll 5/5, my favorite roll for the night. Crab puffs 4/5, delicious filling but it was a bit thin. Sushi taco, 5/5, sooooo good. Still thinking about how unique and tasty that was. Pork Xiao Long Bao 4/5, delicious soup filling. Not salty at all. The vinegar sauce that came with it was light and fragrant. Seared salmon appetizer 3/5, this was so delicious but it does not blend well together as an appetizer. I even ate it deconstructed and that tasted better than it was put together. I tried as much variety as I could but I will most definitely come back and rate the bento boxes and the Chinese dishes!

The food is amazing. It is kind of small, but beautiful. If you are in a hurry, don't dine in. The service is wonderful. The waitstaff is very attentive.

First visit. Reviews were favorable and I chose the sushi tacos as a result of those recommendations. Place is light, clean albeit small. We were greeted and seated immediately, it was roughly 12:30 on a Wed. Soon others came in such that 6 tables were quickly occupied, a couple of folks dining alone. Menu has sushi, chinese options, bao and other dumplings, hibachi, bento. I absolutely LOVED the sushi tacos. So fun and presentation was awesome. Seaweed salad was good too. My companion had sesame chicken and while tasty said it wasn't like legit chinese. Hot and sour as well was tasty but lacked the sour and peppery punch needed. In summary, i would stick with the Japanese and sushi options which were excellent and worth the visit!

First time customer. Cute place. Clean. Nice staff. Not fast food. You actually sit and they serve you. Ordered the Teriyaki Filet Mignon with fried rice, and sautéed fresh veggies off the lunch menu. The sweet and sour soup was a little too gelatinous for me. Much thicker than I have had any place else. That's why the 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

They had many options and the quality seemed pretty good over other AYCE places I've had. The offered sauces on the side-eel and spicy mayo. This is a good value for AYCE. Nigiri, sashimi, and rolls were tiny - and also took the longest to come out. And it sucked, because we could only order "1pc per person per order". So it took about 30 minuted for one order of 5 tiny sashimi pieces to get to the table. For someone that can't eat anything else with mayo or sauce in it due to GI issues, it was agonizing waiting for my meager pieces to arrive. There was so little raw fish in each order, I couldn't even confidently gauge the quality. I'd say around grocery store quality. Desserts came out way before before earlier sushi orders. There was also very loud rock music playing the entire time. The place felt claustrophobic and sticky.

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.

I enjoyed the cucumber here, since it helps balance the overwhelming flavor, but I do wish there was more and it was cut into thinner pieces. Thai Style Chicken - 5/5 - Always has been my favorite dish here. The chicken is flavorful but not overwhelming. The lettuce helps balance the dish. The peppers add a strong kick if you're feeling spicy. The sauce is perfectly salty whilst not powering over the other elements. No complaints. The Gyoza was typical and delicious. Mark couldn't stop gushing about the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu. In addition to the broth, the pork and egg were standouts. It was so good he had to pick up the bowl and ensure he got every drop. I was equally enamored with the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. The noodles were done to perfection. The broth was slightly thick and delicious. I agreed with Mark that the pork and egg offered explosions of flavor. We would definitely be regulars at Fuji Ramen if only we lived nearby.
