Salmon avocado roll and Mango Tuna Tartar
    Neha S.

We came for a little girls date, and the food was yummy. Fish was good quality - not fishy at all. The service was ok. They don't really check on you or do anything besides serve the food. The food didn't come out super fast or anything, but we were busy yapping so we really didn't notice. The aesthetic and vibe inside is nice. The lighting is so modern and glowy. We also got hot sake, and I've had smoother ones before. It tasted more alcoholic than sake usually does for me. We also got the Naruto roll in addition to the mango tuna tartar and the salmon avocado roll and the Godzilla roll and literally all of them were so delicious. The Naruto roll was so refreshing, and the mango tuna tartar was literally the best dish. The Godzilla roll was also nice and hot so you could tell it was fresh. The pork xiao long bao was also so yummy and juicy.

Love coming here for a quick bite to eat ... general chicken is my favorite. The service is always so fast and sweet and the restaurant is a very chill vibe .

Loved this place so much, we ordered doordash a few times but finally made our way in. The wait staff was extremely nice and we didn't have to wait to be seated or have our food ordered. The place was clean and smelled amazing. We ordered the taro bao, which was the perfect amount of sweetness. Nice and soft with the right amount of filling. Definitely made in house. We also got a spicy girl roll which was very fresh and flavorful. The last dish we enjoyed was the spicy popcorn chicken which is a fave of ours, spicy and very crispy! It actually numbs your tongue a little due the pepper but worth it!

We found TokyCobao thanks to a Yelp recommendation, and it was absolutely worth it. Everything we ordered was spot-on. We had the classic maki California roll, wonton soup, miso soup, and their sushi tacos, one cooked and two raw. All were fresh and flavorful. But the real standout was the pork xiao bao. Hands down best-in-class. Perfect texture, great flavor, and something we'd come back for on its own. Customer service was amazing -- extremely friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything. The place is very clean, the vibe is great, and you can tell they care about what they serve. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Rox: 11/10 on food. I am a big time dumpling gal and these were SO good! Big critic of chili oil as well and it passed the test. This will 100% be our new take out spot. You HAVE to get the red oil dumplings and pork xiao long bao!!! Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is there is zero beer wine or alcohol Mike: Hands down everything was amazing, but the sauce on the red oil dumplings was amaze and we even ordered a cup of it to go. Wish I didn't have to run to my truck for a drink every 15 mins LOL! Great place and staff. Highly recommend!

Super friendly staff! Cute place! You can sit down and have your meal while being served or do take out. We started with the crab salad and gyoza. Don't sleep on the crab salad! I like how it's served on wonton chips. I opted for the Beto box for some variety. I went with the teriyaki chicken. It comes with a California roll, rice, dumplings, and choice of soup. Our waiter was amazing!

We've wanted try this place since the sign went up in the tiny strip mall some months back. Our overall experience was good. First, I remember when one had to travel to NYC for Shanghai soup dumplings, and I am so happy that the popularity of this dish has taken off. The soup dumplings here are just OK. While the dumpling itself is thin (which is a good thing) and the broth itself tasted fine, there just wasn't enough of it compared to so many other places. The crispy bottom bao was very good, in my opinion, though it could have been fried in a hotter pan for some improved crispiness. My wife is the crispy bottom bao connoisseur in the family, and she wasn't overly pleased because there was a lot of meat and very little broth. I tend to order eggplant whenever it's on a menu. The eggplant here was served al dente, and it was in a pool of oil. Way too much oil. The flavor was OK, but the eggplant needed to be cooked longer, and I would prefer a sauce over a ton of spicy oil (see photo). Finally, I splurged on hot & sour soup. It is actually pretty good, though it was served warm and not hot. The service here is excellent, and the restaurant is as clean as they come. Despite that this is a small joint, they've managed to get plenty of tables in here.

Was craving dumplings so decided to try this place. I called in my order and went to pick it up. It was pretty much empty inside which should have told me all I needed to know but the staff was polite. I ordered egg drop soup, chicken soup dumplings, side of noodles and scallion pancake. The egg drop soup was way too thick for my liking. I took maybe 2 bites of it and threw it away. The soup dumplings were just okay. I was expecting better, as I've had frozen soup dumplings from a grocery Store that had more flavor and ingredients. The noodles were okay but had a strange odor. The only thing i would consider getting again is the scallion pancake. To say that this was $30 worth of food and I wasn't really satisfied with any of it is very disappointing.

Eat in. Delivery not as good. Egg drop soup was oily and the soft shell crab tasted off.

The restaurant's name is a bit of a challenge to pronounce, but I sure have a lot of really positive things to say about it. Opened since April, Tokyco Bao stands head and shoulders above any other Japanese eatery in at least the League City/Clear Lake/NASA area. And why's that? Two words: sushi tacos. Heck, they're why I came here this evening, justifying my monthslong wait (I was hospitalized and in recovery mode). I love sushi and tacos hence it was a no-brainer that they were the first thing I ordered. Anyone who gets them is greeted by three of those culinary bad boys. Anchored by tempura seaweed taco shell and a piece of seaweed tempura, the sushi tacos can definitely hold their own against the traditional Mexican variety we Texans are accustomed to. The first few bites undoubtedly blew me away. Because it was Japanese fusion, I took the last bite of my last taco using chopsticks. They're the brightest highlight of this place. I'm also a fan of their soup dumplings. If you enjoy wonton soup, you for sure will love these. However, I must warn potential diners that contents filled with piping hot soup so be careful when eating them. A solid starter for sure. While housed in a small shopping center (if you could call it that), Tokyco Bao resembles a fancy-looking cafe you'd find in the Land of the Rising Sun. It's so clean and pristine, even the restrooms. Lastly, the staff excels at customer service. The waiter did his job. Even when closing time was looming, we were still taken care of. Tokyco Bao had a 4.2 rating before I composed this review, to which I say it deserves to be higher.

I wish I'd snapped a pic of all our food, but I was too busy enjoying it! I got the sesame chicken & rice from the lunch menu sooo good! The place was packed during lunch hour, super clean, and had such a nice vibe. Definitely going back!

Overall, it maintains the best quality from dish to dish and rarely fails to disappoint quality wise (obviously it won't be like a la carte quality, but it is lowkey close). I think their weakest aspect in restaurant quality is actually the service. I do like the use of the iPads to order, but sometimes there are just times where we won't get entire rounds of food until like 30 minutes later. Another issue I have is their soy sauce bottles, which have like a 50% chance to be sticky whenever you pick them up. Lastly, and this is with all the AYCEs, their fish is either a hit or miss on that particular day (personally, I like ordering just a few of each to try for fish quality before ordering like 30 the second round). Enough of the negatives, this is still really great. I love their steak hibachi, which is usually perfectly cooked and tender, offsetting the flavor of sushi after a few rounds. The salmon and fish roe are so addicting and I like enjoying them with the squid, seaweed, and crab salads. The soups are all pretty good and none of them have an off-putting flavor. All of their specialty rolls are so plump and filled. Another thing I like about this place is the ratios of ingredients in their specialty rolls. Other than the fried rolls, I feel as though there's always the perfect amount of rice and wrapper compared to the other ingredients, which is often hard to find in AYCE. This place just has their flavors down really well and is definitely the most well balanced and flushed out AYCE in this area.

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.

Though the meat in there wasn't as tender as I would've liked it and the eggs were more of a hard boil than a soft boil, the actual flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles were really good. I came in on a Wednesday night around an hour prior to closing time, so the waitress was fast in taking our orders, though at times I did feel rushed and felt like they just wanted us out of the restaurant (which is reasonable, but I still felt rushed to eat and pay). This restaurant is featured on the BAHFL card (a card meant to encourage users to try out restaurants and get discounts for their meals), but whenever I asked, she questioned what I was saying and I ended up just paying as is without the card discount. Other than what I previously mentioned, though, this place is still good and is definitely worth trying out, though just not during later hours.

To summarize my review before it begins, Masa is now my destination if I am craving sushi and Japanese food. The atmosphere was elegant, which makes it stand out from other surrounding sushi restaurants. We started off with cold sake and Ahi Poké Nachos, which were crispy and delicious. My friend and I split Sushi Combo C, which features 20 pieces of assorted sushi with California and Spicy Tuna rolls. The sushi was very fresh and skillfully made. The Tamago was freshly made with the traditional chopstick method. This was the best sushi I have had since I dined at Nobu in Las Vegas. Our companions had the chicken katsu Bento Boxes because they wanted an assortment of things to try. The tempura battered shrimp and vegetables were lightly crunchy and delicate. After dinner, the four of us had a round of Ninja Drop martinis, which were tangy and sweet. The owner, Michael Zhou (pronounced "zjoe"), came over to say hi. He encouraged us to try one of his favorite items, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular. To finish, we had a couple of bottles of hot sake alongside some yummy mochi ice cream. Our experience was amazing. Our server, Jordan, took great care of us, and we all had a great time. I was looking for an elevated experience, and I got exactly what I was looking for and more.
