Did delivery service recently from this establishment and the food was excellent. Enjoyed their burger with bacon jam along with a generous portion of fries, washing it down with their prickly pear Margarita. Will definitely order again, in fact I already have. 2nd time trying this place. Came in for lunch. Found 2 seats at the bar after 1pm, otherwise a 15 min wait. Both had the half sandwich with soup. Mine was a half bacon lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich and gumbo with added shrimp. Sandwich came dry and I had to ask for mayo, which was given to me as a packet. Felt like something you get at the airport. Gumbo had way too much rice. Should have asked for that on the side. Do not know how this place is so busy with food so bad. Two strikes, your out. Not bad at all... worth an additional half star so really this is 3.5stars not 3... Service is 4 stars So that's a positive. Tried a bunch of things since the company was paying and most were pretty good. Empanadas were 4.5 stars and the best thing we tried. The Ceasar salad was 2 stars but what are you gonna do.. it's a Ceasar salad The ribs looked good and we had high hopes but these are not great and really just 3 stars The Moscow mule was not great and rated just a star for the effort. read more

This place is not bad but the last two times we have gone there, the waitresses are running full speed and still can't keep up. You have to wait 10+ mins for water, 10+ mins for a check, 10+ mins for condiments. They need to staff their patio area MUCH more especially on weekends. Get some staff in here to help your customers read more

I was there for breakfast with my daughter yesterday morning, 04/02, and was very impressed with a waiter who wasn't actually waiting on us but we saw him with his tables all around us. His name was Jody. He was all smiles, had such a good attitude and energy about him. He just seemed like one of those happy go lucky guys. I liked his style and his aura and he was great with his tables. Anyways, good hire! read more

I've never, ever, in my life had leftovers when I ordered ribs. The sauce tasted like hormel chili mixed with vinegar. I know a good rub, and it shouldn't leave a dry, gritty texture after preparation. The salad was actually something to rave about. This was the prettiest blend of fresh greens I've seen in awhile. They packed it onto that little plate, and it was good eats! The service was really good, and the atmosphere was perfect for date night. -Edited I bit into another rib, and the bone was so burned, I bit through it. More than disgusting. read more

This is a great place for brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu has a variety of southern and Cajun offerings. There are vegetarian options as well which is helpful. I like the half sandwich/ with soup or salad option, they have on their menu. It is always busy and the staff is always friendly. read more

Only giving this a one star because I can't give it a zero star!! Came in here for my grandmas first time and we ordered the burger medium rare!! It came well done , not once but twice!!! Manager came over and made the situation completely worse!!! She was stubborn, didn't want to help with anything!! Tried charging me for the wrong burger and my new food!! Told her we weren't coming back and said that was our decision!!! I didn't get to eat any dinner with my family!! We will NEVER be back!! I have never had such horrible service from a manager in my LIFE!!! Server was great. The manager should go work at the gas station next door with that attitude!! read more

For a local joint, Brooklyn's is pretty good. As someone who has roots on New Orleans, I would not compare Brooklyn's gumbo to the native area, but it's among the the better served locally. The staff is friendly and prompt. It gets a true thumbs up! read more

The staff is very nice so my rating is based only on the food. Crab cakes are very fishy, fried green tomatoes have a very strong pungent vinegar flavor which gives them a terrible taste so these are not your typical fried green tomatoes. There's no seasoning on the portobello mushroom or the green beans. The salads and ranch dressing are very good. Cornbread was good with honey butter. Fried fish taste much better than the grilled fish. Red beans and rice were good. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem! I went with a friend on a Friday and we were told that the chef goes off-menu specials on Fridays and Saturdays. We have an exquisite fish with Cajun flavor to it, the waiter was so friendly and the drinks were good too. read more

Absolutely love Brooklyn's! Their food is southern style and they definitely know how to do it! Always consistently good with both food and drinks. We live about 5 minutes away so we go often. It can get a little crowded on weekend nights but that's to be expected at a good restaurant like Brooklyns. read more

We stopped here while at a vball tournament. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered 4 different meals and they were all good. I would definitely come here again. I was recently in there today, with this being my first time I am proud to say that this establishment has exclusively won me over for best burger in Buda and an awesome staff that is very attentive for your every call. Special thanks goes out to Danny or Dani.. pardon if I misspelled, as well as the member of management that I spoke to on the phone. This place. Well, I love the walls...the lighting....the bar...the mimosas.....and my waitress.....I got real lucky with this one. And here's the honest truth....I don't like saying anything negative but I have to say....the vibe from the staff upon opening their doors for the day (mind you: this is Christmas Eve) was subpar (save my waitress, Lauren who was amazing). We visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Waited for a table for a little bit, no problem. While looking over the menu, apparently everything you order is a la carte, HOWEVER, Monday through Friday all sides are included in the meal or sandwich, which is the SAME price on the weekend. I called BS on this and asked why. I was told they are "specials" during the week. However, the menu is the exact same on the weekend as it is during the week. They need to stop taking a patron for granted and don't rip off customers. My burger was well done. I ordered medium-well. The server said, " you ordered well-done", and didn't ask to make a new one. We were seated immediately in this loud restaurant. Our server took our drink orders immediately and served about a minute later. The service was fantastic. We ordered biscuits and gravy with country potatoes and andouille sausage. The biscuits were on the dryer side but had good flavor. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful. We also ordered eggs Benedict. Visually very appealing, but after a couple of minutes, the Hollandaise began to separate. However, it had good flavor. Could have used a pinch more acidity. The poached eggs were over cooked with nearly solid yolks on the inside. Overall, a generous 4/5 because of great service, good food, and decent prices. read more

Ive lived in Buda for 5 years now, and have been here dozens of times. The food is good, a little on the heavy side, but still good and full of soul. Shrimp and cheddar grits are my favorite thing on the menu, followed by the fried chicken club. It's a monster. Service is fine, ambience is just ok... it's an old historical building so you can't expect much there. Bartenders are usually generous with the alcohol in mixed drinks too. Overall it's a Buda staple and worth a try. read more

It stays busy but that is for a reason The most important thing to know is the service is some of the best I have had in a long, long time. That was 100% Nicole. The restaurant has different sized tables for seating. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

Hostess was rude. We were a party of 7, 4 of us get there to get a seat, she said there was an hour wait. So, we find a table in the bar area (seats 4), it was open seating. Drinks were ordered, we were fine. The rest of us get there and so happen to know the table next to us who were about to leave. So, we decide, hey, we can just grab their table. So, as we are about to order additional drinks and appetizers, the hostess comes up to say we need to get up so they can seat a couple. Oddly and extremely disappointed, we get up, grab our drinks, and the hostess seats a couple that had just walked in (we are on an hour wait, so we thought). We complain to her, she apologizes, and states she will seat us and the next two tables next to that same table we had to get up from. 3 minutes later, they seat others at the promised tables???? I spoke with the manager, who apologized, Stated that should not have happened and it should have been open seating and he will get us taken care of right away. We get seated in the back, private area, which was nice. We had a very nice and attentive waiter. However, the food came out dry (chicken) and the steak special, it was "okay". Not the best, but ok. Green beans were burnt. We did not complain, because we didn't want to add to the chaos. Women's bathroom was very dirty, one stall was pretty much out of order unless someone was brave and desperate enough to use it. But then, my husband goes to the men's bathroom, comes out and laughed about a guy walking out that did not wash his hands and this guy is hanging out all over the kitchen serving station. We immediately assumed he was a server and informed the manager. The manager confirmed he was not wait staff, just a friend. But let's face it now, why have this nasty friend hang out at the kitchen serving station??? Gross! The manager stated they stopped serving food but that is no excuse. It's obviously an area that should stay clean and refrained from people hanging out at. Feel sorry for he next day service that has those germs! It was just not our night, thankfully, the manager took care of a round of drinks for us. But, still felt the need to address our experience. A round of drinks just do not cut it, especially after how much money our table of 7 spent and could have spent more if had we had a great experience. read more

We are local and have been a few times, but haven't been since the pandemic. So we just got back. The place is still charming, although someone needs to rethink their Home Depot discount lighting and install some fixtures that match the original building's era. The place is clean. Easy parking nearby. It is a bit loud. Service was amazing, attentive, polite, and fast. Drinks always filled and cashing out was very efficient. Now on to the food. We ordered crab cakes as an app. A Cobb salad, Catfish with two sides (hush puppies and fries). The crab cakes were under cooked and had little flavor. They were barely warm. The sauce was sad. Think mushy flat seafood leftover fried until soggy. Served over a bed of mixed warm greens and two sad slices of helpless lemons. The Cobb was served on a warm plate that had crusty leftovers from a previous meal underneath. The lettuce was starting to wilt (this was before and dressing was poured). The tomatoes (in July) were sad looking and unripened. The halved boiled egg was grey and powdery. I could have tossed it at the wall and they would have exploded like white and yellow glitter. The balsamic dressing was thinned out with water. The "bacon" overwhelmed the whole salad. Not in a good way. Think 1987 Bac'n bits. That flavor stayed on my pallet even after eating a much-needed ice cream back home. No bread or croutons on a salad. At least serve it with one chunk of crusty bread. Gosh, I miss Perry's. The catfish was over-seasoned and under-cooked like the crab cakes. The hush puppies were just peppery burnt corn hash. The tarter sauce was sour with the aroma of greasy leftover clams left in the sun. My friend has a tummy ache right now. In her words, "it was awful." The fries were thin and crispy and amazing and the only thing that was decent of the meal. Probably won't go again. The stars are just for the service. I feel bad for them bringing those plates to any table. read more

What an amazing restaurant. The mock opening was wonderful and we decided to give it another try for a date night. The staff is super friendly. We were greeted immediately by a super nice hostess. She seemed very aware of the wait and said we could sit at the bar and get a drink if we wanted to and she would get us when our table was ready. The drinks were super good. The margaritas are very good and the bartenders were super nice. Good was great. Our server was amazing and was a wealth of knowledge on the menu. We couldn't have been happier with the 967 burger and the shrimp and grits. Everything was piping hot and amazing. At the very end we did the bread pudding. AMAZING!! We enjoyed our visit and are so glad this is local. What a treasure! We recommend going there for a wonderful meal and great service. Went for Brunch last a couple weeks ago after running the half marathon in Austin. We brought 14 guests with us. They were amazing for taking our group so quickly without a reservation. The food was great and came out relatively fast for being so busy. I can see why this place has a 4 stars. It's a little gem. The staff truly cares about the place. You can tell by speaking to them. I'm sure every place of business has its bad moments. We haven't had one yet and will continue to go here. It's a local favorite. read more

We had our company Christmas party here and had the best time! The staff really went above and beyond to ensure that our night was perfect and not rained out. We rented out the courtyard and found out the day before that we were to get a huge down pour of rain. The manager, Mirna made sure we stayed dry AND warm with tents and heaters. The food was fantastic! No complaints form this large group. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed every dish and drink. The service was spectacular. My wife and I have been patronizing this restaurant since they opened and never were disappointed. The atmosphere is truly amazing and the food is out of this world! But what's best about this place is the quality of service of the waiting staff. A special mention must be made of Casey who has served us many times we visited Brooklyn's. She's got a great personality and always checking on the customers with that wide smile on her face. Brooklyn's is an awesome restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, staff and the backyard is next to none! The food is awesome and the decor is improved but they have kept all the original elements that keep it a historic building. If you're looking for something new that's not the typical chain restaurants and Tex Mex restaurants this is the place for you. Plus you're supporting a local business where the owners live in Buda. Wife and I are traveling to Austin and stopped for the evening in Buda, TX. We decided to try Brooklyn's out for dinner. This place has a very nice atmosphere and were consistently busy the entire time we were there..which was no wonder since the food and service were awesome.. Everything was so good, but the sprouts were especially nice. They were spicy, but just enough to make them interesting. Our waitress was very attentive, but not obnoxiously so. This was win for us. First time visiting Brookyln's and may I say everything from food to service was spot on AMAZING! My friend and I went in for sunday brunch, i ordered the shrimp and grits...very DELICIOUS by the way...grits were cheesy creamy goodness and the shrimp was spicy! We also ordered a few rounds of mimosas ($2 special) who could say no to that!! Liz and Nikol were such wonderful ladies very sweet and attentive, made us feel right at home!! If you live in the Buda/Kyle area and haven't tried Brooklyn's Down South yet, shame on you! This place is an ABSOLUTE TREASURE! The historic building and atmosphere are extremely welcoming. I love the old wood floors and warm and inviting dining area. Drinks and food were both excellent. Brunch and Mimosa's on Sunday were AMAZING as well. Reallllly wanting to enjoy this place, but we have yet to have a good experience. We've given it multiple chances and every time it's disappointing. Very slow, inattentive service, food is a hit or miss and the prices are outrageous. $22 for a Cobb salad with romaine lettuce...$5 for a side of fries to an $18 burger? Holy crap the quail is FIRE! I went here yesterday for a work happy hour and got to try basically their whole menu. Whatever sauce they have you dip the balls in and the alligator bites in...so freaking good. Super friendly service, wasn't crazy busy, and they sat us immediately. Some of the friendliest and most attentive staff I have ever seen. It doesn't matter if you sit in the dinning room, bar or outside they always do a great job taking care of you and seem happy to do so. Beef fajita meat doesn't have to be well done y'all. I literally could tag nearly every Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas at this point. Back to the dish this time concentrating on the seafood aspect.
