Great Mushroom burger. Decent sized portions (Texas sized) Very attentive staff, amazing service. Ice tea was good as well. My friend said he enjoyed his meal Ok desserts, nothing special. If they contracted desserts out from the truck (Chocolate Drop Confections) down the street, they would do better. I am not a fan of the skinny fries that they serve, but I would imagine the fries are pretty popular. Horrible parking situation, but that's not the restaurants fault. Maaann! Ive been here twice before for Brunch an it was absolutely amazing. Tonight however was a total different story... Got seated, Steven was our waiter. We ordered right away because we saw how busy it was. We got alligator bites for appetizer, pulled pork sandwich for husband an ribs for me. Well we waited for 30mins...waiter walked by several times never kept us updated, everybody else food was coming out left an right. Then our food comes an no gator bites. We asked the guy for them an he runs to grab em. The bites were the ONLY THING GOOD but came out WITH the food and our waiter never checked to make sure we had it before our meal. My ribs were absolutely HORRIBLE. They were straight Mushed up microwaved ribs. No flavor but the cheap tasting bbq sauce on them, barely hot, I got throught two an only ate fries. My husband sandwich was completely bland, no flavor, got charged $1 for 2oz of bbq sauce to give it some taste and the bead was a soaked up disaster. The worst part is We couldn't even complain about how horrible our food was because our waiter never once came over to ask us how are food was. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Have been here several times both pre covid and after. I have never had a problem with the quality of the food but the service is horrible. From getting the wrong thing to waiting 15 minutes to get a drink and another 15 minutes to put a food order in. I just went here for the last time 3 strikes and your out. I want to like this place but I would rather go somewhere else with better service. Everything I've eaten here has been seriously top notch! I'd put this restaurant up against most "really good" Austin establishments. And when it comes to Cajun, I don't know that I've had better outside of Louisiana. This goes for the cocktails too. My go to is usually Autumn Thyme, but tonight I had the East West cocktail... Perfect summer beverage! And my boyfriend's Old Fashioned? Perfectly poured and fragrant... seriously, this drink smelled inviting! And, last, but certainly not least...Casey! She is an awesome server, and truly an impressive ambassador for the restaurant. It was clear she knew the menu well, and she had great respect and admiration for the chef (who sounds like a pretty impressive, strong female figure). We really enjoyed the new menu. Eclectic and appealing choices. My wife loved the chicken and dumplings, and the chicken tacos I ordered were really good, yet not what I would call traditional. Interesting take on a Texas standard. It took a little too long for the food to come out, but the quality made up for it. Ate here for the second time today, and just not super impressed. I ordered the gumbo this time, and it was not very flavorful, watery, and overdone with the okra, and the rice was pre mixed in. This is fake gumbo, not even sure there's roux. Also had the spinach dip which reminded me of an Alfredo sauce, pretty good. The prices are good and I've had the fish before and enjoyed it, but if you're going to advertise southern food you have to hit the mark. read more

Not good. Boudin balls bland. Fried shrimp overly breaded with no flavor. Snapper was a frozen packaged product. I grew up on the gulf coast. None of the seafood taste like the gulf. If you're gonna charge $25 for a Cajun dish it damn well should smell like the gulf coast when it comes to the table. Kayla our waitress was good. She was the only highlight. We end up at Brooklyn's several times a month because we know we are guaranteed a great meal. I've tried several dishes off the lunch/dinner menu and have never been disappointed. It's basically Cleveland's. A little slow and overpriced buuuuut the food is delicious and they have craft beer.

The food is only mediocre but it's the only non-Mexican option in Buda. However, they have the WORST service I have EVER experienced! The manager is rude and they literally stole $45 from me. After waiting for a long time, on a busy Friday night. I finally asked if we could just get our dinner to go. They apologized for the delays, said yes they would get my food boxes up, they brought me my check, and I gave them my bank card. After 20 mins, I asked about my food and the waiter ran off to check on it. He came back and said it was being boxed now, as they had to refire one of the burgers. Another 15 mins passed and I caught the waiter again. This time he brought the manager who apologized for the delay and said he would assure my food would be ready in 15 mins. I told him NO! It was just 3 burgers and an appetizer. I asked him to return my credit card and he did. I asked if they had run it yet and he said, "Oh no, we never run cards until food is ready." So I left empty handed and feed my family fast food that night. Two days later, I checked my bank account online and saw the charge for the food. I immediately called and spoke to the manager. He claimed not to remember me and told me that he couldn't return my charges if I didn't request it that night. I got very angry and told him how he had said they never run cards without food. He said he would talk with the owner and I should call back the following day. I called back the next day and got the same load of crap. He said he could not verify that I didn't get my food. Eventually, I just gave up and swore never to eat there again. So, they essentially stole my money. read more

This is my second time here. Food the first time was good, but this time we were with a group of 5 and none of us liked our food. The only reason this place gets two stars is for the drinks! The drinks were all great and we all had different things. This place should just shut down the kitchen and become a cool, trendy bar! Service was terrible. Plain and simple. The first time was pretty bad too, but this time the food and service matched at the low levels. It took a long period of time to get water refills, our server's attention, and our check. I live 4-5 minutes from here and will probably not be back to give it another chance. PSA: If you're still reading, check out Main Street Pizza and then go to Nate's for after dinner drinks! The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is because the service was friendly. Other than that, my husband and I were extremely disappointed. Based on all the reviews, we thought the food would be delicious. Not so much. My husband ordered the Mushroom Penne Pasta with blackened chicken. The dish was extremely bland with VERY LITTLE sauce. I ordered the Shrimp Platter and again, the food was bland. The fried shrimp were overcooked, the breading was extremely hard, it had been in the deep fryer too long. The portion of coleslaw was very tiny compared to the heaping mound of fries that accompanied the shrimp. We also ordered a side of Mac N Cheese, of which there was VERY LITTLE sauce; the noodles were barely coated with cheese. We will not be going here again. read more

On Valentine's Day, all my wife wanted was a good margarita,so, I took her to to Brooklyn's for dinner and a margarita. We had called ahead and they put us on a wait list, so our wait was only about five minutes. She ordered the margarita, a Prickly Pear, which was fantastic! We ordered the smothered sirloin steak with all the trimmings,! The steak was cooked to perfection and it was beyond all expectations. You could cut it with a fork! The flavor was incredible, easily the best steak I've had in a long time. Brooklyn's is a better than average restaurant and about the best you will find in Buda. I've eaten dinner there just a few times but been there for lunch quite often. Service is always prompt and the meals have always been tasty. The venue is on the noisy side, making lunch conversation a little difficult. If you're facing East while seated you have to fight the glare off the parked car windshields, which is annoying. Almost requires sunglasses at times. :) read more
