There aren't a lot of restaurant choices in buda if you're hungry for something other then Mexican food. But Brooklyn's is a hidden gem! The food is outstanding, and they have a variety of options depending on what you're in the mood for. I try something different almost every time I go, and am NEVER disappointed. We had a party of 11 in the back area. All of the food was on point. I had a burger with garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious. We had multiple appetizers. All of them we great. One of the best things was our fantastic server, Paul. He was friendly, quick with refills and knew what everyone ordered. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made it enjoyable. Brooklyn's has been amazing, have dined with them 5-6 times now. Have sat at the bar and had a sit down dinner also. The bar Fantastic drinks and bar tenders, I recommend the old fashioned and the spicy mule(can't remember the name) Sit down dinner Great attention to detail from all staff, waiter was great. He recommend the quail and blackened red fish, both of which where down right amazing! Even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, he was a really cool person to chat with. what used to be clevelands is now brooklyn down south. its been spruced up a little and more seating has been added one nice addition was the fire pits erected on the back patio . .we were greated warmly at the door and told the wait would be about 20 mins , we ordered a drink at the bar and before we had finished it she came over and politely escorted us to a table ,the hamburgers were tasty and cooked perfectly . service was quick and professional ,prices well within our price range . ,unfortunatly i found adding more tables meaning they were closer together it seemed like you were almost sharing the next one , somewhat compromised any intimate dining enjoyment ,.and the noise level was almost unbearable. because of that i can only give it 3 stars read more

Just ate here last night! Disappointed that we havent come here sooner! It was excellent! I had the mushroom pasta with blackened chicken and it had a lot of flavor. My parents got their special of the night which was the chicken fried chicken and they loved the gravy. My boyfriend got the gumbo but was disappointed with how small it was. He isnt a big eater so it goes to show that it was certainly too small of a portion but that was our only complaint. Their drinks were on point. I got a mojito that was perfect! The restaurant was very clean and we loved the ambiance. did appear to be a popular place. People kept pilling in for their karaoke. This place is truly a gem! Delicious food and great service! I came to Buda with my husband to visit some family. We went to Brooklyn's for lunch. I had the eggs Benedict and my husband had "Brooklyn's breakfast" plate. The portions were generous and tasted great. The staff were very attentive and made sure we were doing well. Our server was a spitting image of America Ferrera. I was tripping out, lol! Overall it was a wonderful experience. The food and staff both were great. The environment was cute and rustic with the original wood floors. Disappointing, tasteless fried green tomatoes and same for the boudin balls, fried shrimp and the runny coleslaw was served alongside my fried shrimp skewers, hence a mess. Visited Buda this weekend to catch up with friends and family that live here. My dad grew up in Buda and boy has it changed. I do miss the old store where Brooklyn is now currently, but it's nice to have such a nice restaurant to eat at when visiting and one that stays open late! The food was excellent from the fried tomatoes to the chicken fried steak. Our waiter Paul was excellent. Very friendly, most attentive to our table and fast service! We liked it so much that we went back the next day for brunch; their pancakes are so good. I'll definitely be returning next I'm in town. Make sure you ask for Paul! read more

Not a bad little eating spot but needs a little work. Seems like there's always something a little off. Cold soup, overdone French fries, etc. You have about a 7 in 10 chance of having a really good meal here and when it's good it's good but often you leave unfulfilled. I was very disappointed today at Lunch. It was actually around 1 pm that I took my mom there for her 1st time. I had been there once and it was great. It took forever for our waitress to visit us. The host saw this and she took our drink order. We finally ordered and the food was awful. We had the chicken fried steak (which sat in the window quite a while as I could see it from where I was sitting). The waitress checked on it again at the window and she came to us and said we were waiting on the grilled chicken that we ordered. I said ok, but when it still took a while i asked for the chicken fried steak since we were going to wait longer apparently. Finally got the chicken, the steak was tough. The chicken had cooked so long that it was really dry. The best thing we had was the green beans. Probably will be a while before I go back. read more

Man oh man this place. I have such mixed feelings about Brooklyn's. I've eaten here about three times and the first time was amazing. I got the shrimp and grits and that dish was hot, flavorful and filling. The second time I ate here, I was already full from eating previously and so I ordered their crab and avocado appetizer. It was supposed to be deep fried but when it arrived it was lukewarm at best which made me uncomfortable because every time I've been worried about the temperature of a dish and eaten it anyways I've gotten food poisoning. I sent it back but didn't order anything else because I was concerned but also full. This last time I went, I ordered the Eggs Benedict and once again the temperature was questionable. Not as bad as the avocado appetizer but still concerning. I ate some it but I couldn't finish it and the Hollandaise sauce has too much lemon in it so it's too tart. That being said, their service is always very good and the place is always busy which might explain these temp issues. Aaaaand, on the same day I had the eggs, my fiancé and his brother ordered the chicken and waffles and they were soooooooo good. I wish I'd ordered that. To me, this is the kind of place where you order something fried or you get something they are known for. I'll probably keep going here because all my friends like it and I like it enough to keep trying their popular stuff. read more

Had dinner with two friends from Dallas in town for the MotoGP at C.O.T.A. this past weekend and had a GREAT experience, and we've been in the biz, we know what's up. We were seated immediately, and a server was asking about drinks before i had even pulled my chair up. My buddies both got the shrimp and grits, and wouldn't shut up about the dish the whole meal. I had probably the best burger of my life (other than HopDoddy's, sorry), and even had to take half of it home it was so large. The service and overall vibe from the staff was impeccable (this was NOT the case in this room's earlier incarnation.) My friend's were really taken by the charm and diversity of our little town's downtown establishments, and Brooklyn's was clearly the centerpiece. They were skeptical about not heading in to Austin at first, and already planning another visit by Sunday. Thanks guys, well done ! read more

I've been here twice and have had great experiences both times. For a small town, this restaurant provides great service and exceptional menu items. They have some great appetizers and their burgers are delicious. The beer menu includes plenty of options and there's a solid cocktail list. There's a bar in the back which we haven't. When a restaurant can't give you Parmesan cheese for your pasta dish without charging you for it, they will not see me back. We had the Penne with Mushroom Sauce and added portobello mushrooms for a $4 upcharge. It was a little dry, so we asked for a little extra mushroom sauce but we were told that it would cost us $4, so we passed and just asked for Parmesan, which they brought in a small stainless 2oz cup. We were not told of any additional charge and found out about it when we received our check. It's not the amount ($1) it's the principle. Thankfully, we are getting more choices of restaurants in the area, so won't be limited to this one. read more

My kids took me there for mother's day brunch. After waiting 45 minutes, we expected this, we get seated outside which we thought would be great. Only to find a few black metal bar height tables and chairs sitting in the sun. There were two areas with sofa's and fire pit but again, it was in the sun. There was one umbrella which was broken. There is plenty of space to add a few more tables (preferably not metal) in the back along with working umbrellas so I don't understand why they don't utilize the space. I do enjoy the food. The shrimp and grits is my favorite. If I ever do go back, I will not be sitting outside. read more

Love this downtown Buda gem. Great burgers specials when we were there. Great menu in general with lots of variety. The bacon wrapped quail was delicious!! Stopped in Sunday while the game was on. Janet had pulled pork sandwich. Spicy but she likes food that way. I had a burger. Very good. We aren't big fry eaters.
