This review is primarily for the tailoring service. The store itself is solid, it is a brooks brothers, has a great selection of quality goods living up to the brooks brothers reputation and the staff is friendly. The tailoring however, seriously consider going to just any other local tailor. I typically do, but chose to utilize their service instead as the suit included some basic adjustments when I made the initial purchase. They absolutely butchered the suit. They did alterations in the most obscure ways, I wouldn't even call them shortcuts, just bad jobs at whatever they were attempting to do. Not going to go into detail as to the specifics, just some of the worst "tailoring" I have ever encountered, not just that it did not fit well, it was horrid workmanship, In the end they nearly destroyed my suit completely (I honestly thought they had but was reassured by another tailor that he can salvage it, though it is costing me). Didn't even get the hemming right In addition to this, when I had dropped it off, I had explicitly asked them if they would be able to do the work I was requesting, as if not it was perfectly fine, I would rather leave it in the original state than ruin great fabric. I asked this multiple times, and was confidently reassured that they could manage. They were wrong. While the prices are higher than I would like, BB remains my favorite place to buy clothes. Bonus points for a nice rewards program.

Brooks Brothers now makes suits at a Chinese factory in Italy. The label says "Italy" - don't be fooled it's made by China. Fabric is thin, cheap and my suit fell apart after wearing a few times. read more

If they can't make casual slacks for the men with 42, 44, or larger waist sizes why should I give them my hard, earned money. Great quality, poor business models. in retail as well as being a restaurant server....it is as stressful as being a police officer...what world do you want to live in ? ? ? chaos ? let some other ass hole take you for your money and does not care about the carcass.....at BB we cared...I can not speak for today.....but I reached out and called the store to see what was going on.....they still care..the data is that I was a young man sales associate upon opening of the store several years ago....I was latterly given two cheap BB suits....I loved the fact that I did not have to sell customers....they could see the quality..i just directed them to the wishes....and we had a lot of young people who we made feel comfortable exploring and touching....some day we know they will come back...because we cared..............sorry for caring...my bag read more

This is the nicest clothing store in the city of Louisville. When you want better quality, you pay more for it. Plain and simple. A company that is well aware of their worth and prestige does not haggle over their prices. Sorry to the others that commented on this thread and do not understand this concept. The last comment is clearly just degrading Brooks Brothers as a means to promote another in town tailor because I know for a 100% fact is that the suits have NEVER been on a buy one get one sale. This is not Men's Warehouse. Off the rack suiting does not work for everyone, there is a 2" ration you need to fall inside of or they will simply require to many alterations that will affect the initial and original condition. This goes for everyone. They also provide a Custom suiting option which they do an amazing job at, if you require that to fit your exact body measurements of you do not fall within the 2" +/- ratio I would make an appointment with Lindsay, the Alterations Specialist for this specific location. They get a lot of grief here, people expect more and are harsh if any minor inconveniences arise but when you pay more you expect more and I understand that. However you do have to be willing. We are all people at the end of the day, trying to get by and live our lives to the best of our ability. Be kind. If you are unhappy with something please present it to the store manager Jennifer, she is an amazing woman and would gladly take care of any inconvenience you could possibly be presented with while shopping at this location.
