I was referred by a first cousin, a periodontist who practices in Sugarland, to Dr. Dale J. Brant of Medical Center Dental; my cousin said, "This is EXACTLY the guy you need to see; he's whip-smart, excellent chair-side manner, and a superb professional." Dr. Brant and his staff completely lived up to that recommendation: They worked me into their schedule much quicker than I would have ever thought possible. His staff showed all the signs of having worked closely together for a long time, like pieces of a fine Swiss watch, in supporting his practice of the art and science of dentistry. Dr. Brant's chair-side manner was indeed exceptionally warm; he pitched the level of detail in his diagnoses, explanations, and recommendations PERFECTLY given my particular needs and ability to follow, with no hiding behind jargon. He did rule out abscess or other dental problems as a possible cause of my fevers, and shared his x-rays and other records with both my physician and, as it turns out, my cousin the periodontist, who I will need to see on a non-urgent basis for treatment of periodontic disease. Some or all of that work Dr. Brant is also qualified to do himself -- but knowing who'd referred me, he made absolutely no attempt to "upsell me" or persuade me to let him undertake that periodontic work. We also discussed some other general dentistry issues based on his exam, including addressing my teeth-grinding and sleep apnea/restricted airway issues, for which I intend to return to him for treatment. And his fees were very reasonable -- much less than I had expected and would gladly have paid. In short, I left Dr. Brant's office feeling completely confident that I've found my new general dentist, upon whom I can rely in both the short and long term. Even in a community marked by fine teaching hospitals and dental schools and all sorts of world-class health professionals, Dr. Brant is a gem.

It really needs to be updated if that's the case. They also could have called me when they got in office on Monday to ask me what my insurance was before I drove all the way there, parked in the parking garage and went up to their office. I also thought it was kind of strange that there were no parking instructions or insight as to where the office was or what it looked like.

He's engaging, knowledgeable, totally current with dentistry practices, and every bit of work he's done has turned out beautifully (including my recently chipped tooth - he fixed it the very next day). The staff is excellent here, and the back office is so efficiently run. This takes the stress out of dealing with insurance. I've sent friends to Dr. Chance before, and will continue to do so.

Dr. Chance was totally understanding and made me feel like I was in good hands from Day 1. He started me on a practical course of treatment fixing the most serious problems first. His office staff (especially Maria!) is mindful of my insurance and helped me stagger my treatment so that I minimized my out-of-pocket costs. I never have to wait to be seen when I come for an appointment and am able to get early appointments to make it to work at a decent hour. When my husband or I have had "dental emergencies", Dr. Chance has worked us into the calendar and taken care of us right away.

I have all my wisdom teeth still, AND they are fully out and non-impacted. My old dentist hounded…read moreme to take them out, but since they're non-impacted, my dental insurance will not pay for IV anesthesia. Who wants to be awake and hear 4 of your teeth being cracked and cut out of your head (my old dentists plan of action)? Not I!! So I searched for a new dentist, and hallelujah I found Dr. Richardson! I don't think most people are too fond of dentist- its hardly relaxing, but necessary. Dr. Richardson knows this, and so she sits down with new patients to discuss their reasons for coming in, if you have any previous problems or negative experiences at the dentist, etc. This is a first- I don't think I have had any doctor, oral or otherwise, that sat and got to know me for more than 5 minutes at my first visit. Dr. Richardson is so friendly too, always making jokes. Her practice is much more technology friendly than my previous dentists- they take pictures of your teeth, use a laser to determine whether you really need to get a filling, and the best part of all- give you a mirror to hold during procedures if you want to see what they are talking about and doing inside your mouth. This really helped me understand why she and the hygenist were doing what they were doing. And although Dr. Richardson is not a fan of wisdom teeth, she did not pressure me to have them removed, only stated her rationale for recommending it, a welcome departure from my previous experiences. I received 5 fillings (those damn wisdom teeth!) and a full perio cleaning spread over 3 appointments. I didn't need anesthesia for the fillings, however Dr. Richardson offers laughing gas if desired. I'm keeping my dental coverage under COBRA just to go back and see Dr. Richardson in the future!

Like the previous review mentioned, she is very straightforward with her suggestions, but never forces you to do anything. You can tell she really cares and is not trying to do unnecessary procedures. She even gives the option to let very early cavities hopefully heal themselves with brushing and hygiene before making a filling. I even wanted to have a mercury filling removed, and there were certain procedures that I wanted to have done for my protection from the mercury, and she more than willingly accommodated to my wishes. Even the hygienist, Ushma, is incredible. She spends so much time making sure the teeth are clean, and you can tell she cares also. The whole staff is quite friendly they always address me by name, and ask how my family is, my husband is (I made him their patient too!). Really great office, I'm really glad to have found them.

So learning about this dentist office and having a great first time experience brought me lots of ease, peace, and comfort. I scheduled my appointment over the phone and I was met with warmth. I received Invisalign and implant treatment from Dr. Rami Alsaleh, a general dentist who markets…read morecosmetic services. A permanent implant was placed before my Invisalign treatment was complete, and then trays were continued. This sequencing error caused a visible midline shift and asymmetry in my smile. I was never informed that this could be a permanent outcome. When I raised concerns, I was dismissed and told my midline was "within normal limits" without an in-person exam. A second opinion from a nationally and internationally accredited prosthodontist confirmed improper sequencing and lack of planning caused structural harm, not cosmetic dissatisfaction. One root canal he performed on tooth #31 failed within two years and required extraction. Tooth #19, which he also treated and retreated, is failing again and has been referred for further endodontic evaluation. A recent provider identified five additional teeth that may need root canals, eroded enamel, poor crown margins, and accelerated wear despite my attending regular appointments over four years. This prolonged pattern of overlooked issues, superficial reassurances, and inadequate follow-up has been both emotionally draining and physically harmful. It also triggered a documented MS flare-up, my first since diagnosis. There was no informed consent on foreseeable outcomes and no referral to a specialist, even though complex procedures were involved. I've reported this to the dental board and consumer protection agencies. I do not recommend this provider to anyone seeking ethical or well-coordinated care.
