Kayla got her OSS (ovary sparing spay) today. Dr. Gwen is our vet. Very up to date with research and medical practices. A++

Brookwood Animal Clinic is as good as it gets in veterinary medicine. I drive and hour and a half, one way, from Marietta, GA to Brookwood Animal Clinic located in Jackson, GA. I have been to numerous general practice vets since moving to Atlanta in '97 and haven't found one yet, until I went to Brookwood Animal Clinic. Here are the following reasons why Brookwood Animal Clinic and Dr. Gwen gets five stars and my continued business. 1. Dr. Gwen is practicing veterinary care with the most current technology and is up to date with the most current medical trends. 2. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I have witnessed how they treat every client as if they were the most important client they have, no matter how small or big the bill. they were the most important client they have. You have to love an establishment like that. 3. Their follow up phone calls and e-mails to check on my Australian Kelpie after surgery. 4. High quality service for a reasonable price.Their prices are great and are actually below the standard charges at other vet offices. 5. They offer OSS (Ovary-Sparing Spays) and Vasectomies. A rare find in America, but is common in Europe and other international countries. 6. It is apparent they care about the pets and their owners. I find the review on this site by M.V. very disturbing and unbelievable. I would advise potential clients to disregard that review. After reading the M.V. review, it appears that M.V. had a dog that was spayed too early by a rescue group. This spay was NOT performed at Brookwood. After reading up on spays on the internet, it is my understanding that early spays can cause a dog to have a leaky bladder, that can not be fixed completely. I suspect the owner was upset that her dogs leaky bladder situation could not be fixed completely and behaved in a way that was not appropriate. I believe any business has the right to not serve people that are abusive and disruptive. I can confidently recommend Brookwood Animal Clinic as one of the best places for veterinary care in Georgia. They are truly experts in their field.

A great vet at first but ended up finding out they were improperly treating my dog for an ear infection for almost a year.

I overlooked that no services were available on a Sunday and time was of the essence. CodaPet saved us that day. There is nothing that can prepare you for this day. I remember my cat panicking before we went inside for in-clinic euthanasia. This time, my dog was comfortable in her own bed in a peaceful setting that does not exist in a clinic. I have zero regrets doing in home euthanasia. It is the way it should be if you are so lucky to have the circumstances to do it. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for Dr. Goranova being there for us. She was patient, kind, and graceful with how she handled things. My girl accepted her help and felt at ease around her. Thank you so very much for helping my girl in her time of need.

I have a lot to say about Jerri's Pet Place. Our 12-year-old Shih Tzu Chloe passed away in November…read more2020. We were devastated and we were so lonely and missing our little dog. I saw Jerrie's Pet Place advertised in Fort Valley and called to see if she had any Shih Tzu puppies. She didn't but said to me she had a female who couldn't breed and had to be spayed because of an infection. Jerri didn't want to keep her so she said we could come and see her. We spent some time there trying to learn more about the dog. I asked her if she had her registration papers and the information on her surgery, and she assured us she had it all. She didn't give us the paperwork when we left she explained that she had to find it. We asked her name and she replied "Baby". We took her home and began to see what this poor little girl had been through. She was scared and submissive and would cower down when we tried to pick her up. She wouldn't drink water or eat and shook all of the time. We took her to the Vet and had her checked out. They agreed that Baby had been abused. I began to send Jerri emails about the paperwork, and what she drank out of all kinds of questions. One lie was told after another. She said she couldn't find the paperwork and the woman she got the dog from never gave it to her. This went on for about a week. I called the USDA and they explained they had to inspect her place a few times because she had over-the-limit dogs. I was also told that any dog in her possession that is a breeding dog must have paperwork and be registered. She didn't even know how old Baby was. After 3 months we noticed that Baby was having seizures. The vet said she had epilepsy and had to have been having seizures while under Jerrie's care. She was in a cage all of the time and no one noticed. About a year ago I read an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the Human Society and the USDA were informed of the large number of dogs in Puppy Mills being housed and sold in numerous Breeding places. Jerris Pet Place was one of those places. She was running a puppy mill and no one knew it. She wouldn't let anyone see where she kept her puppies and their parents. I hope they continue to check on these places and stop them from selling dogs. Baby has been with us since November 15, 2020. She has a collapsed trachea and CHF and is on many medications but she is finally living the life. She has been all over the state camping with us and traveling and has never been put back into a cage. She is our loving little Shih Tzu and even though she has been through so much she is happy.
