I think he ended up spending maybe 15 or 20 minutes washing the exterior, then charged me $125, which is apparently the price for a truck (I just have a small SUV). I don't really understand the retention economics (or lack thereof) here? Why make $125 once when you could make that amount every month, or multiple times per month, from repeat customers by literally doing what you advertise? FWIW, the exterior wash was good, and it was a same day booking (and they were very responsive, arrived on time, etc).

Firstly shine pros use trustworthy products that I know they aren't cheaping out on. The cost of those products are high. Secondly their price for their service is super fair as well. They don't take short cuts on their service and they spend the time to make sure the job is done well. Proof is in the pudding. Again this engine was washed for the first time in 20 years. These guys are the real deal.
