OK, updating the review as new stuff has happened: it turns out that they had to create special parts for our installation and that is what took time (ordering and manufacturing). We weren't aware of this when we provided the last update at end of October. That said, our holiday lights repair work was done by Halloween (as seen before) and then additional work just completed (so at least we had the main lights up for the season, and now we have the final bits done in time for Christmas and New Years). Back to happy, and we love our lights. read more

We contracted with Brothers about 3 weeks ago for a permanent lighting install. The whole operation is a mess, the receptionist Kimberly has no clue what is going on and Patricia who is the scheduling person, does an absolute poor job of following up. After multiple attempts to schedule, we finally locked in a date and that too was rescheduled after multiple follow ups from us. Apparently, 1 of their 2 vans were stolen & our job was postponed with no commitment from the owner Dave Anderson, who is too busy to talk to the customers. In addition, since the company already placed the order, their policy doesnt allow us to get a refund - which is leading us to consider small claims action. I think most of the reviews on Yelp are fake & future customers should be careful about sending across a dime in deposit, before the job is complete. read more

Don't recommend, we had our lights installed a year ago. The process was smooth, and the price was fair cause we got it during off-season, however, they treated me like a dummy when the app wouldn't work and made me think that something was wrong with me instead of the app ..anyways later on, we got it fixed. A little over a year later now they changed the app to a different app and now I can't control the lights at all and they tried to troubleshoot with me over the phone which I was able to do and the app is asking me to pay more now and they're supposed to fix it. Now there's two light strips on my house that aren't working and the app still isn't working and nobody will come and fix it. I've been in communication with them for over a month now in primetime holiday season and I can't use my holiday lights. The installers told me that he doesn't make enough money for him to go above and beyond he just does what's on the schedule so pretty much I'm out of five grand. Do not use them. read more

I first met Dave fromBrothers at the Flower and Garden Show and we hit it off right away.Within a month he had visited my house and written up a proposal for the permanent lighting work I wanted done.I signed off on the proposal and paid the deposit in March 2024.I paid almost $1000 for 2 new path lights, the replacement of a broken light fixture, and the relocation of an existing fixture, all within the context of asystem that had been working reliably for 20 years. The installation finally happened in March 2025; it was 10 months of back and forth about the timeline and expected delivery.The lights worked for 2 days.I contacted Dave immediately and got the "run around":it's my timer, it's my electrical source, and then: "the scope of the work didn't include troubleshooting my transformer".After some discussion and a reminder that my system was working before the installation he agreed to call FXLuminare.It's been 10 days since our last communication and my lights are still not working.I am not on their schedule.I've come to the conclusion that they either don't have the expertise to figure out what they have broken orI've been scammed.At any rate I'm completely done with Brothers Holiday Lighting.Shame on you Brothers read more

I'd never hired anyone to put up Christmas lights before so I didn't know what to expect, and I was THRILLED with the results! Oli, the crew lead on the installation, and Philip did an excellent job. They are so talented and sweet and went above and beyond to make sure the lights were just the way I'd imagined (they even strung up one of my own lights since I couldn't reach high enough). Oli and Philip figured out how to plug in everything all over the yard and outside the house very quickly. They were very patient as I stood there changing my mind about the backyard. What I hope doesn't happen to you: they also helped me when an intruder walked into my house with a knife! She'd also damaged their van but they paid more attention to making sure the woman left my property than their own van. I am already planning a more elaborate set up for next year now that I know what they are capable of! I highly recommend them! Good but overpriced - increased rate by $300 in one year! We had Brothers hang our lights for two years. The first year we purchased the lights and had them hung which was about $550. The second year they hung our lights and removed them for $420 (lights were purchased the year before). Last year they quoted us $711! Almost $300 more than the previous year! When I asked why they added an extra $300 to the previous years price, for the same exact job, the receptionist was snarky with me and said it was due to rising gas prices. I would understand a 5-10% increase but $300 more made me think they were just trying to take advantage of the inflation story. They did a great job when they were fairly priced, but now I will no longer use this company due to the insane price increase on a repeating customer! read more

I hate writing poor reviews, but when they're warranted I take the time, so others stay informed. We contacted Brothers for some simple holiday lighting for the front of our home and garage. They sent us a write-up with our address on it - we asked them a few questions about different options they offered, and after we received more information we asked them to proceed to schedule an appointment. Five days later they tell us we are outside of their service area...why that wasn't determined at the very outset we don't know. A lot of time and effort was expended, and now we need to start from scratch with a different lighting vendor. Be careful when dealing with this company. read more

Sad to give such a low rating but these guys are out of their depth. Last holiday season they did a poor job of installation, the worst being they didn't plug in the upper segment. The owner Mike said (several phone messages and emails) that my lights were out of warranty. I told him the plug was hanging unconnected in the air - sent him a picture to make it simple to understand. He finally came out more than a week later to fix the problem. Still wanted to charge full price for a sloppy install (there were other problems) bad customer service and bad attitude. Great experience for the 2018 holiday season with Brothers Holiday Lighting. Got in touch with Dave around September and he put together a great proposal for lighting. Ran into some challenges with the original install date but Dave was extremely accommodating and professional in working through some specific challenges. Phil & team came out and completed the lights in a few hours. We have had a ton of compliments from friends & neighbors about the entire set up. They didn't have the correct lights so they removed what they had done. They've now said they have no time to reschedule me. Took zero responsibility for the mix up.
