Scheduling for both phases was a little last minute as they were squeezing us in between other projects, but that worked for us as long as they met our hard deadlines, which they did without problem. For Phase One of our project in December, Orion Rockscapes installed a bluestone landing/apron at the base ofour front steps, as well as steppingstones from there to the side yard. Additionally, they installed new path lighting for the front and side yard paths. We needed these hardscaping things done in time for a holiday party, and they worked to a very tight deadline effortlessly. Phase Two was installed in the spring and started with removing a 15'x15'x15' English laurel and some mature Rhodies, as well as other smaller established plants and shrubs. They followed a plan to install a new rock wall to stabilize a slope, then planted a new hedge and perennial/shrub garden on all four sides of the lawn, in addition to precisely reshaping the lawn to the more interesting curvy shape in the design. They also added a steppingstone path on the other side of the yard. They worked closely with the designer, and came back in a timely way to install a few plants we found we needed once everything was laid out. They even added a handful of shrubs to fill in under a Rhodie that had to be limbed up a bit for accessing the yard. We chose not to install irrigation as my husband prefers to hand water (he's retired). Jade, my point person, and all the crew were incredibly easy to work with and professional, very good communicators. They were tidy and respectful on the site, and kept noise to a minimum, which we appreciated as my husband was just home from the hospital and was recovering from major surgery. Instead of the stressful process many such projects can be, this went so smoothly and efficiently that watching all happen it was actually a source of pleasure and hope at a time we needed both! I have wanted to relandscape the front yard for almost a decade to regain our lake view but kept putting it off because I usually find these big projects stressful. I am so grateful I finally found the right team and they did such a beautiful job. I am loving watching it mature and fill in. Such a huge improvement!

Those issues combined with his attitude about his mistakes got to the point where I was about to get in his face and kick him off my property for how he was talking to us but I kept my calm. I paid Ben everything up front and he delayed my project 7 months…read more After 7 months of waiting, he showed up with some tool finished 10% of the project and said he is going to quit. He wanted to charge me 50% of what I have paid him and work out a payment plans to return back the money. Now it is been weeks that he is not returning my phone calls, not to mention he left my yard in a way that is messy and dangerous. I paid Ben $42,000 and this is what he got done after 7 months.

When I asked why would I change my review as this was my experience with his company, he then asked me who I spoke with. After 7 months I have no way of knowing who I spoke with. I then got a story about a family medical issue and I elected to leave the conversation. This was the only company we reached out to at the time of the original review and we were told they weren't a lawn care company.

Ricardo told me he was coming to finish on FIVE different occasions and he never showed up, never called back, never returned text messages, and I finally called the number on Yelp and got a hold of some lady (I think Ricardo's wife), and she sent some OTHER workers who hadn't installed pavers before and this long, drawn-out project became even worse. I had to settle on midicore work. THEN, Ricardo wanted me to pay the full amount event though I said let's forgo the synthetic grass, plus he didn't finish putting the pavers where they were supposed to go, AND had the guts to say that I "pressured" him to return to finish the work and I just wanted to pay a small amount. Somehow he turned it into my issue, plus another worker wasn't going to get paid from Ricardo, so then that guy is calling an texting me - TOTAL MESS. Needless to say I won't use them again, and i wish this didn't happen because I had a good relationship with Ricardo before all this happened, but it turned shady quickly.

Hao was quick to come out and provide a free estimate for installing a paver walkway and fixing the…read moredrainage. It wasn't him that did most of the work, but two others. One of the guys left tons of cigarettes in my lawn and they also left a few spikes dispersed in the lawn that they use to nail down the barrier to the paver walkway. This wasn't a cheap job by any means, but the end quality has been poor. About 6 months after the walkway was finished, we had weeds and grass coming through the pavers. Upon closer inspection, barely and sand/sealant was in between the pavers. Now, barely 1.5 years later, we have to have someone come and remove all the growth between the pavers and reseal. I could tell they rushed the end of the job because Hao himself came to quickly sweep some sand into the pavers then rushed out. When I remarked about the spikes and cigarettes, he told me he always tells his workers to not do it, but they always do.
