My girlfriend came here and had a great experience, so I wanted to leave a review based on what I saw and heard firsthand. She felt comfortable the entire time and was really happy with the results, which honestly says a lot. Courtney and the team were professional, welcoming, and took the time to make sure everything was done right rather than rushing her through. She walked out confident and excited, and that's usually the best sign you picked the right place. I'd definitely recommend Brow Eyed Girl based on her experience and would have no hesitation sending friends or family here. read more

NEVER AGAIN. $1300.00 down the drain. I lost my brows due to very low thyroid function last year and decided to finally have my brows done. I made an appointment (and by the way, you need to pay a 50% "non-refundable" deposit when you make an appointment, which should've been my first red flag) I was also shocked that the service was $1300.00. But, stupid me, for that price, I thought that meant my brows were going to look exceptionally great The day of my visit, I showed Courtney a picture of myself so that she could clearly see what my brows normally look like and what I expected them to look like. She assured me that that's what they would look like. After close to two hours and toward the end of the procedure, she told me that my skin was "tough" When she was done, I looked in the mirror expecting to see brows like I showed her in my picture. Instead, my "brows" resembled two thin, auburn worms across the tops of my eyes (my brows are normally thick and dark brown). Courtney assured me they'd look better after my second appointment. To say I was disappointed would be a vast understatement, but I made my "follow-up" appointment for a few weeks later (an additional fee, by the way), paid my remaining 700.00 and left. By day two, my brows were back to being bare, all traces of the "work" Courtney did were completely gone. The following day, I had an appointment with my dermatologist (who's office also does brows and other services), who could not believe I had anything at all done to my brows. He also couldn't believe I was charged for "What??? What did she charge you for? You have absolutely NO eyebrows". I was completely humiliated. The following weekend I was at a party with two women who own a brow bar. When I showed them my (non-existent) brows and told them about my experience, they couldn't believe I had anything done at all, as there were absolutely no traces of ink on my brows, nor was there any "peeling". They also couldn't believe the amount of money I paid and both encouraged me to reverse the charges, as services were not rendered. The following day, I called my bank and did reverse the $1300.00 charge back to my bank account. I also immediately sent Courtney a text as well as a voicemail letting her know that the "brows" were completely gone, that I had reversed the charges and questioned her services. She immediately called me saying she let me know my "skin was tough" during the procedure. Yet, instead of stopping the procedure, knowing it wasn't going to work, she kept going and then had the nerve to charge me $1300.00. She also told me on the call that she needed to be paid for her "time". She had absolutely no interest in the fact that I wasted MY own time being there, nor the fact I didn't receive the services promised. She did offer to have me come back so she could make it right, but by this time (when I told her my dermatologist laughed when he saw my brows three days after my procedure and didn't believe I had anything done, Courtney became extremely defensive and told me she didn't give a "F" what my dermatologist thought), I had absolutely no faith in her, as she could have "made it right" during my first visit, or stopped the procedure completely once she saw my brows were "not taking the ink". Instead, she gave me crap brows which disappeared 48 hours later and had the audacity to charge me for them. I wanted to end the call, so I told her I'd be back. However, after speaking to others in the field, they strongly advised me NOT to return to her. I then sent a text telling her I had a face peel and was advised not to have my brows done for a few more weeks, to which she replied it was fine for me to come even though I'd had a face peel. Which I was absolutely not going to do. I canceled the follow-up. I had already been through too much with this woman and had absolutely no faith in her. Also, after her cursing regarding my dermatologist, I saw an unprofessional anger which made me very uncomfortable. Fool that I am, I actually reversed the charge so that she did get her full 1300.00, when I should've filed a police report for theft of service. However, I just wanted to be rid of this woman, who charged me $1300.00 for a service I never received. I'm not sure which was worse, the fact that she kept working on my brows when she knew damn well the ink wasn't taking, or that she charged me for a service I never received. We live and learn. I have since been referred to another professional, who did an amazing job! read more

I have tried several brow artists to have my brows tweezed where I live on Long Island NY, without being completely satisfied. I did extensive research, and after reading rave reviews, i decided to go to Brow Eyed Girl in Summit NJ, as it is in close proximity to my daughter, who I visit once a month. Courtney is a true professional. Her space is beautiful, clean and well lit. My brows are very thick, and I feel hard to manage. She did a great job. I was completely satisfied and will be seeing her on each visit to my daughter. read more

Yikes! Updating my review based on the unfortunate response from the owner - although I now see this is a trend with other reviews/her responses. My review was respectful and truthful based upon my experience. A review is, by definition, an opinion - of which I am entitled. Perhaps you shouldn't own a business if you are not open to hearing the feedback from the very audience you intend to serve. The owners response doesn't even address the comments made in my review, which is a bit confusing. Regardless, this entire experience certainly validates my initial feelings about not returning. Best of luck to you! read more

I've been going to Brow Eyed Girl for several years, and I can't say enough good things about Courtney, the owner. When I first came in for eyebrow microblading, I was honestly a little nervous since I had never done anything like this before. But Courtney was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable--she made me feel completely at ease. She did a fantastic job, and I was thrilled with the results. My brows looked natural and beautifully defined, and the best part is that I no longer have to fill them in every day! It's been such a time-saver and confidence booster. If you're considering microblading, I wholeheartedly recommend Brow Eyed Girl. Courtney is truly a pro, and you'll be in great hands. read more

Courtney, the owner, is an artist! The powder brow treatment was painless. The brows are gorgeous. She was very clear on aftercare and follow up. The place is spotless. I didn't feel comfortable here. For a luxury service, I expected to feel welcomed upon arrival. 15 minute late start (and this place has a strict punctuality policy for clients-if you're more than 10m late they cancel your appt!) then the artist started to do the consult talking across the waiting room, with another client sitting next to me. I asked for privacy to discuss and she wasn't willing to accommodate. Bad vibes here, not for me. read more

I canNOT say enough about how amazing my experience was at Brow Eyed Girl! The owner Courtney is an absolute doll she was so warm, friendly, and consultative. I trusted her completely and am so excited for my brow journey with her, we started out with a clean up & tint and I immediately booked a follow up to have a permanent brow procedure and I can't wait!! UPDATE To RESPOND TO FEEDBACK This is not a fake review. I am looking to have microblading done again since it has been 2 years. When I went online to look at reviews of competitors, I felt inclined to share my experience from last time. I thought I had been the only one at the time to experience the unnecessary hostility from Courtney. The feedback from Courtney solidifies the defensive nature of constructive feedback. I was simply trying to have her work fixed. read more

I found this place on Yelp based on reviews. I had a 5:30 consult tonight. I got to Millburn at 5:25 PM for my 5:30 PM appointment. I'm not familiar with this area. I parked in a lot further away then I had thought. I got to the door at 5:40 PM (website says won't accept client after 20 minutes) & they close at 6 PM. I called numerous numbers. Finally got through to someone snippy saying we left for the day. I said "you couldn't even call me?" She continued to be very snipping asking if I wanted to reschedule. I said no I'm just upset you didn't call me after I drove an hour. She apologized again in a condescending tone & hung up. Be warned if you are late they won't call you. It's also impossible to reach someone at all even prior to appointment. I'll go to the city & get this done properly. I realized this said no replies after I sent it but the point is, she wasn't in her studio at 545pm like she said she was. read more

I booked an appointment for microblading in May 2024 in preparation for my June wedding. (Had never been there before.) I gave a $400 deposit! However, I ended up needing to reschedule my appointment because of a conflict, so I canceled online and~ called and left a message to make sure they got it. When I called back to reschedule they told me I had forfeited my $400 deposit because I canceled online but that they'd be happy to book another session appointment for me. Needless to say I did not rebook. I told them I had also called and left a message. Didn't matter. I have spoken with other salons about this and they said that is NEVER done. Am now in search of a place to get my brows done. This was their email reply to me after speakign with them on the phone about rescheduling and being shocked to learn I had lost my $400! deposit. Who does business like this? Hi Mary, Our manager advised that you had canceled this appointment directly online and the deposit was forfeited. Per our policies, all deposits are non-refundable. In order to reschedule you would have needed to call or email us instead of canceling altogether. In order to book a new appointment you will need to rebook with a new deposit. Please let us know if any questions. Thanks, BEG Team read more

I stumbled upon Courtney's business with a simple Google search for eyebrow tinting in the area and I am so glad I found her! She is a true master at her craft and does not disappoint. About a month ago I came in for the first time a bit nervous (she could tell, haha). I had never gotten my eyebrows tweezed, shaped, and tinted before - I've gotten them threaded in the past but was never that impressed. My eyebrows grow pretty slowly and are pretty sparse so the thought of even letting someone touch them used to scare me -- until I came to Brow Eyed Girl. Courtney took time to listen to my concerns and understand how I wanted my brows to come out and she was able to execute it perfectly! I don't think I could trust anyone else with my brows, I mean they *are* on your face so you need to find someone who is kind, professional, and highly skilled. Courtney exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend her for all your brow needs! She also provides other services for eyelashes, lip blush, etc. An added plus is how clean and bright her studio is - exactly the type of place that will welcome you with open arms. Would highly recommend! read more

Updated 6/17- Since Courtney responded that this isn't true I'll provide examples. I wish they had told me BEFORE i went back! 1. A friend of mine had her brows micro bladed and they were uneven. She went back but Courtney said she couldn't do anything because her skin was old and sags! 2. Another friend had tried to reschedule but Courtney told her she would be charged because it was within 48 hours. Her confirmation said 24 HOURS!! She told Courtney and Courtney said "we changed it, it's 48 hours. You'll be charged " 3. Another friend pointed out that her brows were uneven at the end of the appointment. Courtney got totally nasty about it and it became so uncomfortable she just left. L Lastly, i checked her out on Fakespot and it says she has a high incidence of fake reviews. *My original review*. Ive been to Courtenay before and been happy, however I will never go back. I thought long about posting this review but felt it was important since I've heard other people have bad experiences most recently. I've been to Courtenay before and been happy, however I will never go back. I thought long about posting this review but felt it was important since I've heard other people have bad experiences most recently. I think Courtney handled the situation poorly. I wasn't asking for anything except for her to fix some thing she had missed. I then found out she had significantly overcharged me without even telling me. Just all around bad business. You can see the actual screenshots and the conversations below. You can judge for yourself. Hi Courtney -i'd like to come back in from my micro blading a couple weeks ago. I waited till it was completely healed but there's just one spot that needs a touchup. How should I book it on your website. Thanks! Hi wendy we only offer 3-6 month touch ups so that's what you would book online .. if you don't want a touch up I would recommend makeup on that spot Do you mean you would charge me to come back in? It's requiring a credit card for the appointment Yes I was just there on May 9th. I would have expected this to be covered as a follow up to that You charged me $275 on 3/12 when i booked the appointment and $684.63 at the time of the appointment and you won't include a touch up? I'd ask you to reconsider that because it really isn't right. My next avail is 6/24 at 10am Yes, I'll take that. Courtney-In reviewing what you charged me I've realized that you charged me $900 as if i was a brand new microblading client which seems excessive. You didn't have to do any mapping, you didn't have to do full brows, you spent 30 mins in total and I booked a 12-18 month touch up for $550. Never did you say you were going to charge me $900 as a new microblading customer. I'd like my $350 refunded your last touch up was July 2 2020 as per my records and that's over 18 months. Anything over 18 months is initial. Not a touch up Courtenay, I told you I had had my brows touched up several times since I saw you last. I looked at my records and the last touchup was a year ago on May 6 of 2021. I would think it would be common courtesy to let the customer know that they were going to be charged $350 more than they expected. Shame on me for not looking at the details of what you charged me however I trusted that you would be honest and not change the price without even telling me. There isn't a touch up with a touch up .. I refunded you $350 Courtney, when you miss a spot on my brow completely I would expect you to want to correct it, not charge me more for something that should have been handled in the original appointment that took place just a couple of weeks ago. I'm not going to pay more so I won't be coming back on 6/24. I think you've handled this poorly. At no time have you apologized to me for changing the price you charged with out notifying me. A simple apology would have gone a long way. I appreciate the $350 refund, but you will also need to recalculate the tax and refund that. I wish you luck as you grow your business. I like to support women so I offer you this advice as a woman that was in business for many years and mentored many young women. I would add phrases like "I'm so sorry that happened", "that's not a problem ", "thank you for your business" to your vocabulary. It will serve you well going forward. **UPDATE** Thanks for your 1 star review, it's hilarious ! I reported you and it will be taken down very soon. read more

I had such high hopes for this place!! Let me just start by saying I NEVER write reviews. If I didn't like a place I just wouldn't go back there to be honest. BUT I am so appalled on how unprofessional this business is I needed to write a review so other people don't make the same mistake. I had gotten my eye brows tinted a few weeks ago.. apt went as planned and everything was completely fine. I schedule another apt for a lamination and tint in a couple weeks. 24 hours before my apt I contact the office to reschedule my apt because I was sick. They told me I would need to put down another $50 deposit (I already paid a $50 deposit to schedule the org apt). I said oh for what I already paid a $50 deposit to book this apt I'm just rescheduling it. They stated that I would need to pay another $50 because I didn't reschedule within 48 hrs. So now I would have been paying $100 for no services rendered. I reached out to them to say hey I understand having a cancelation fee but I'm just rescheduling because I was sick. I couldn't believe they were more concerned about taking another deposit than actual customer service. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend them just due to their unprofessional business manners. read more

I had high hopes for Brow Eyed Girl but my experience was a total disappointment. I booked a Friday morning session weeks in advance. The night before my appointment, they texted me saying they had to cancel and asked if I could reschedule. I understand that scheduling conflicts are sometimes unavoidable and agreed to reschedule. A week later, my rescheduled appointment was here and I was excited to finally get my brows done. Except it happened again--I received a text message from Brow Eyed Girl at 9pm the night before my appointment saying they had a conflict during my appointment time and would need to reschedule again. This was baffling to me because I booked this appointment well in advance. Why am I just being contacted at 9pm the night before? While the last minute cancellations were frustrating, they weren't the worst part of my experience. The worst part was the customer service. They were completely unapologetic and came off as rude to the point where I felt forced to bring my business elsewhere. Had they just been kind and apologized for the inconvenience, I would have given them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Asked to reschedule a 15 minute consultation on the day of the appointment due to a sick child and they insisted on keeping the $12.50 for a rescheduling because 15 minutes of the schedule was thrown off today. Do they really think I would have known 48 hours in advance that my kid would be sick?? A bad attitude seems to be a pattern with this salon and I don't want to be associated with that. Enjoy the $12.50 Jaclyn. You can go to Starbucks now! I don't know why this says I'm from CA but I am in central New Jersey and this is not a fake review, which is a common response from the salon to cover up for behavior. read more

Terrible Experience with an Unpleasant Eyebrow Salon Owner If you have to cancel an appointment, twice, especially within 24 hours, you should at a minimum be apologetic and offer some type of concession to your customer. It is inappropriate to text customers directly and berate them just for being honest. read more

I still have tears in my eyes as I sit down to write this review and I am also still exploring what other avenues there might be to file some sort of formal complaint about this business with the town, BBB or the like. I've been a patron of BEG for almost a year. While I always felt that the environment was a little crazy and was subjected to the owner's (Courtney) loud complaining about personal matters, employees and clients, I ignored it because in all honesty, I was very happy with my brow and lash services. That stops today. As soon as I arrived today, Courtney informed me that one of her employees who I had been seeing quit, which was fine because she was a "dumb whore". She went on to explain that she should have known because she knows Colombians, and they're all gross whores and she knows that because she used to model with them. She continued by saying that she should "go back where she came from and work for the cartel." Later on, Courtney and her employee started complaining about another client who wanted to come in because she was worried about her permanent makeup. I asked why and Courtney said, "you know, she's a dumb Jewish person who has nothing better to do but complain." When this client came in, Courtney kept laughing at her and mumbling insults under her breath. I got quiet but said nothing. I was in a vulnerable position and frankly, perhaps naively, shocked. I went to the bathroom following my service to compose myself, but left without confronting Courtney because of how uncomfortable I was. I am both Colombian and Jewish and I've never experienced such racism and antisemitism directly to my face. Even if these things didn't personally offend me, this business is run by someone who simply does not have respect for the people that patronize her business. Courtney, you told me you loved my daughter's name because it was beautiful and unique. It is Hebrew in origin and I agree, it's absolutely beautiful. read more

I have very sparse eyebrows. I went to this place for microblading (I'd had it done before at another place about 18 months prior). I met with Courtney and showed her a picture of what I was looking for. Nothing out of the ordinary...just eyebrows that look as realistic as possible. Anyway, I was there for HOURS....and when I was finally done I looked like Groucho Marx! They looked awful! Courtney assured me they would look awesome in a couple of days....well, that didn't happen and I sent her a picture and she literally told me to "wipe them off"....which I did. They came off easily with a washcloth. When I returned to have them done again she actually avoided me and had someone else do the brows....and good thing. They came out very nice and I was there only a fraction of the time. I can't give Courtney any stars because she is truly a disgrace of a business owner AND SHOULD NOT BE WORKING ON PEOPLES FACES but I had to post one star in order to post this needed review. I had cancer and lost my brows. When I went to Courtney I had a faint mark of old tattooing that I had lasered off. She seemed nice but didn't measure anything. All she had to do was follow the shape I had but instead she free handed it with just a marker. At first looked good. I was so happy to have brows but once the swelling went down I realized the left brow was to high and to far into the bridge of my nose. As a makeup artist I am very good with brows. So I called her and sent her photos. She just kept saying make an apt but I needed to speak w her to trouble shoot. By the time she cared enough to speak to me she got hysterical that I hurt her feelings and there was a flood in Millburn and acted as though I was being a horrible person. But it was on my face. So I went back to my dr who said it's not right and tried to laser the mistake off and it turned bright red because her pigment has alot if iron in it. The doctor and I tried to reach her to find out exactly what she used and her text was so outrageous and unprofessional that the Dr was floored. She also said she no longer wanted to work with me which was a joke because she never tried to help. There are a lot of talented professional people out there please do the research. I'm still in a mess because no one will touch her work so I have to wait til they fade. If things go good, her inflated ego is happy but should anything be wrong or not of the clients liking she is an UNHINGED EVIL UNPROFESSIONAL THING. Please do not get involved with her. read more

Got microbladed and hated it after both session 1 and 2. After the first I was left with two tails and when I reached out bc I had a wedding before the touch up appointment I was told to wax my own tail off bc it was too low instead of it being microbladed to fit how my brow grew. I disagreed and left it. After the second session while laying down and checking the work it appeared fine but once I got to my car I noticed it was uneven immediately. One is thinner and starts further back then the other thicker brow. I reached out the following day and her response was bleak. Just that she couldn't see me till January. No customer service skills what so ever. I decided to follow my intuition and cancel my future appointment and no longer have her handle my brows going further. I tried canceling through my log in and it wasn't scheduled. I reached out through DM explaining I'd like to cancel and the response was um ok. Courtney was very friendly during both services but if you critique her work in any way her bed side manner changes quickly. For that reason I wouldn't recommend. Customer service should be put into practice regardless if the client likes your work or doesn't. read more
