I found this place on Yelp based on reviews. I had a 5:30 consult tonight. I got to Millburn at 5:25 PM for my 5:30 PM appointment. I'm not familiar with this area. I parked in a lot further away then I had thought. I got to the door at 5:40 PM (website says won't accept client after 20 minutes) & they close at 6 PM. I called numerous numbers. Finally got through to someone snippy saying we left for the day. I said "you couldn't even call me?" She continued to be very snipping asking if I wanted to reschedule. I said no I'm just upset you didn't call me after I drove an hour. She apologized again in a condescending tone & hung up. Be warned if you are late they won't call you. It's also impossible to reach someone at all even prior to appointment. I'll go to the city & get this done properly. I booked an appointment for microblading in May 2024 in preparation for my June wedding. (Had never been there before.) I gave a $400 deposit! However, I ended up needing to reschedule my appointment because of a conflict, so I canceled online and~ called and left a message to make sure they got it. When I called back to reschedule they told me I had forfeited my $400 deposit because I canceled online but that they'd be happy to book another session appointment for me. Needless to say I did not rebook. I told them I had also called and left a message. Didn't matter. I have spoken with other salons about this and they said that is NEVER done. Am now in search of a place to get my brows done. This was their email reply to me after speakign with them on the phone about rescheduling and being shocked to learn I had lost my $400! deposit. I stumbled upon Courtney's business with a simple Google search for eyebrow tinting in the area and I am so glad I found her! She is a true master at her craft and does not disappoint. About a month ago I came in for the first time a bit nervous (she could tell, haha). I had never gotten my eyebrows tweezed, shaped, and tinted before - I've gotten them threaded in the past but was never that impressed. My eyebrows grow pretty slowly and are pretty sparse so the thought of even letting someone touch them used to scare me -- until I came to Brow Eyed Girl. Courtney took time to listen to my concerns and understand how I wanted my brows to come out and she was able to execute it perfectly! I don't think I could trust anyone else with my brows, I mean they *are* on your face so you need to find someone who is kind, professional, and highly skilled. Courtney exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend her for all your brow needs! She went back but Courtney said she couldn't do anything because her skin was old and sags! 2. I looked at my records and the last touchup was a year ago on May 6 of 2021. I would think it would be common courtesy to let the customer know that they were going to be charged $350 more than they expected. Shame on me for not looking at the details of what you charged me however I trusted that you would be honest and not change the price without even telling me. There isn't a touch up with a touch up .. I refunded you $350 Courtney, when you miss a spot on my brow completely I would expect you to want to correct it, not charge me more for something that should have been handled in the original appointment that took place just a couple of weeks ago. I'm not going to pay more so I won't be coming back on 6/24. I think you've handled this poorly. At no time have you apologized to me for changing the price you charged with out notifying me. A simple apology would have gone a long way. I appreciate the $350 refund, but you will also need to recalculate the tax and refund that. I wish you luck as you grow your business. I like to support women so I offer you this advice as a woman that was in business for many years and mentored many young women. I would add phrases like "I'm so sorry that happened", "that's not a problem ", "thank you for your business" to your vocabulary. I had such high hopes for this place!! Let me just start by saying I NEVER write reviews. If I didn't like a place I just wouldn't go back there to be honest. BUT I am so appalled on how unprofessional this business is I needed to write a review so other people don't make the same mistake. I had gotten my eye brows tinted a few weeks ago.. apt went as planned and everything was completely fine. I schedule another apt for a lamination and tint in a couple weeks. 24 hours before my apt I contact the office to reschedule my apt because I was sick. They told me I would need to put down another $50 deposit (I already paid a $50 deposit to schedule the org apt). I said oh for what I already paid a $50 deposit to book this apt I'm just rescheduling it. They stated that I would need to pay another $50 because I didn't reschedule within 48 hrs. So now I would have been paying $100 for no services rendered. I reached out to them to say hey I understand having a cancelation fee but I'm just rescheduling because I was sick. I couldn't believe they were more concerned about taking another deposit than actual customer service. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. I had high hopes for Brow Eyed Girl but my experience was a total disappointment. I booked a Friday morning session weeks in advance. The night before my appointment, they texted me saying they had to cancel and asked if I could reschedule. I understand that scheduling conflicts are sometimes unavoidable and agreed to reschedule. A week later, my rescheduled appointment was here and I was excited to finally get my brows done. Except it happened again--I received a text message from Brow Eyed Girl at 9pm the night before my appointment saying they had a conflict during my appointment time and would need to reschedule again. This was baffling to me because I booked this appointment well in advance. Why am I just being contacted at 9pm the night before? While the last minute cancellations were frustrating, they weren't the worst part of my experience. The worst part was the customer service. They were completely unapologetic and came off as rude to the point where I felt forced to bring my business elsewhere. I still have tears in my eyes as I sit down to write this review and I am also still exploring what other avenues there might be to file some sort of formal complaint about this business with the town, BBB or the like. I've been a patron of BEG for almost a year. While I always felt that the environment was a little crazy and was subjected to the owner's (Courtney) loud complaining about personal matters, employees and clients, I ignored it because in all honesty, I was very happy with my brow and lash services. That stops today. As soon as I arrived today, Courtney informed me that one of her employees who I had been seeing quit, which was fine because she was a "dumb whore". She went on to explain that she should have known because she knows Colombians, and they're all gross whores and she knows that because she used to model with them. She continued by saying that she should "go back where she came from and work for the cartel." Later on, Courtney and her employee started complaining about another client who wanted to come in because she was worried about her permanent makeup. I asked why and Courtney said, "you know, she's a dumb Jewish person who has nothing better to do but complain." When this client came in, Courtney kept laughing at her and mumbling insults under her breath. I got quiet but said nothing. I was in a vulnerable position and frankly, perhaps naively, shocked. I went to the bathroom following my service to compose myself, but left without confronting Courtney because of how uncomfortable I was. I am both Colombian and Jewish and I've never experienced such racism and antisemitism directly to my face. Even if these things didn't personally offend me, this business is run by someone who simply does not have respect for the people that patronize her business. I have very sparse eyebrows. I went to this place for microblading (I'd had it done before at another place about 18 months prior). I met with Courtney and showed her a picture of what I was looking for. Nothing out of the ordinary...just eyebrows that look as realistic as possible. Anyway, I was there for HOURS....and when I was finally done I looked like Groucho Marx! They looked awful! Courtney assured me they would look awesome in a couple of days....well, that didn't happen and I sent her a picture and she literally told me to "wipe them off"....which I did. They came off easily with a washcloth. When I returned to have them done again she actually avoided me and had someone else do the brows....and good thing. They came out very nice and I was there only a fraction of the time. I can tell you from my prior experience having this done it shouldn't take many hours and thank goodness for the girl she had handle this or I may have had another bad experience! read more

I can't give Courtney any stars because she is truly a disgrace of a business owner AND SHOULD NOT BE WORKING ON PEOPLES FACES but I had to post one star in order to post this needed review. I had cancer and lost my brows. When I went to Courtney I had a faint mark of old tattooing that I had lasered off. She seemed nice but didn't measure anything. All she had to do was follow the shape I had but instead she free handed it with just a marker. At first looked good. I was so happy to have brows but once the swelling went down I realized the left brow was to high and to far into the bridge of my nose. As a makeup artist I am very good with brows. So I called her and sent her photos. She just kept saying make an apt but I needed to speak w her to trouble shoot. By the time she cared enough to speak to me she got hysterical that I hurt her feelings and there was a flood in Millburn and acted as though I was being a horrible person. But it was on my face. So I went back to my dr who said it's not right and tried to laser the mistake off and it turned bright red because her pigment has alot if iron in it. The doctor and I tried to reach her to find out exactly what she used and her text was so outrageous and unprofessional that the Dr was floored. She also said she no longer wanted to work with me which was a joke because she never tried to help. There are a lot of talented professional people out there please do the research. I'm still in a mess because no one will touch her work so I have to wait til they fade. If things go good, her inflated ego is happy but should anything be wrong or not of the clients liking she is an UNHINGED EVIL UNPROFESSIONAL THING. Please do not get involved with her. read more

Got microbladed and hated it after both session 1 and 2. After the first I was left with two tails and when I reached out bc I had a wedding before the touch up appointment I was told to wax my own tail off bc it was too low instead of it being microbladed to fit how my brow grew. I disagreed and left it. After the second session while laying down and checking the work it appeared fine but once I got to my car I noticed it was uneven immediately. One is thinner and starts further back then the other thicker brow. I reached out the following day and her response was bleak. Just that she couldn't see me till January. No customer service skills what so ever. I decided to follow my intuition and cancel my future appointment and no longer have her handle my brows going further. I tried canceling through my log in and it wasn't scheduled. I reached out through DM explaining I'd like to cancel and the response was um ok. Courtney was very friendly during both services but if you critique her work in any way her bed side manner changes quickly. For that reason I wouldn't recommend. Customer service should be put into practice regardless if the client likes your work or doesn't. read more
