Errrr merrr Gerrrd! By far, one of The Best places in Houston, if you're in the mood for a sandwich and I don't mean just any 'ol sandwich but a sandwich made the way you want, w love and flavor, this is your spot! This most current event, I had the following; The jalapeño cheddar bun is unreal Buffalo Chicken Bacon- crispy and perfect Plus the works; lettuce, tomato, deli mustard, mayo, pepper Bag of chips And the most important piece of the meal, get a chocolate chunk cookie, wow. Just the perfect way to top off your meal, it's an incredibly made cookie, they should market this bad boy! Thank you Brown Bag Deli for your care and passion in making great sandwiches! They're the best! Can't wait to stop again.

Not as brightly coloured as the Pink Pouch Deli or the Turqouise Tote Deli. I always thought these sandwiches were overrated but I think this location is actually not bad. I'll definitely be coming back again to see if they might go up to five or down to 2 or 3, but service was nice and Barbi's sister enjoyed the turkey sandwich, and I enjoyed the half that I got. I don't really like turkey sandwiches so what I need to do is I need to try one of the sandwiches that I actually might like and see how good it really is.

Before I rant about my experience, I did notice that the latest review was posted was roughly 4 months ago... Let's start with the positives: -very convenient to my work place -very clean restrooms -indoor/outdoor seating...I appreciated that they offered outdoor seating and the tables are made of wood while the chairs are metal. It's only two tables but I love that there's an option and it was maintained and kept clean. The tables were not dirty, or rickety, or uneven. Not sure if COVID-19 affected the number of employees, and loss of staff maybe?...but during a bustling lunch hour, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get a sandwich. My sister came to have lunch with me, and we waited over thirty minutes to get our sandwiches. We waited, and waited...felt like forever, and for a person who eats slow, this was incredibly frustrating because now I had to rush and scarf down half my sandwich! While they showed that they were hustling, there just weren't enough team members in the back to handle the amount of food orders they received during the lunch hour. I mean their back counter was covered in brown paper bags yet to be fulfilled. Also a bit unorganized. My sister ordered both our sandwiches under her name, because she paid for both, and when my sandwich came out, her name was not written on the bag, only a number. While that number may be listed on a receipt, as a customer, idk what that number means. I was expecting my sisters name to be written on BOTH bags since she purchased them. I checked the bag and knew what I ordered, but someone could have easily taken my order thinking it was theirs. Customer service wasn't great either. Overall, the experience was meh. I ordered the ham sandwich and I forgot what my sister ordered. They are generous with the meat and portions but I thought overall lacked in flavor.

I discovered this place while on business in Houston and my was it good. I ended up going back 3 times and getting three different things. Every time - same great service, same great food. One of the times it was very busy ( lunch rush) and I still got my meal in about 5-7 minutes. All the personnel is friendly and eager to help. Great place! I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

This is my favorite lunch spot. I try not to eat out for lunch as much as possible but if I do this is likely where I'm going. The sandwiches are always packed and delicious. I've literally gotten the same thing every time I've came and it's always been good. The bottled root beer here and the BBQ chips have me fans of the brands they use in themselves. O and great customer service.

If your looking for a higher quality yummy sandwich shop this is the place for you. It's a customizable sandwich shop that has pretty much anything you could want. One warning though the pricing is a little high about $8.00 for just a sandwich. To be fair that could be a normal price for that area and as a tourist I could just be wrong. I got a turkey on rye with all my favorite sandwich fixings and it was good. The lettuce was quality lettuce and not some shredded lettuce stuff. You can taste that the freshness is there and I love that. I'm definitely a fan and next time I'm in the area I will be back.

Brown Bag is usually my spot to go when I want a sandwich near work. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean every time I've visited. The process is simply, Grab and Bag and fill out what type and sandwich you want with what you want on there. I like that, better than telling the sandwich maker you want this or that. Price point is about $8 a sandwich by itself. A little steep, but you do get a good quality sandwich for that price. My only grip is the sandwich can come of dry, with the amount of meat they put on. I rarely ever taste the mayo I've requested. If you opt for oil and vinegar get ready for sticky and soggy bread. All and all I still prefer this place than subway.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant while staying at a hotel in Houston for medical treatments. We had it delivered to our hotel and sadly it wasn't the best experience. When we got our order to the room we were missing one side that we ordered. We got Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad with a brisket/smoked chicken combo and a brisket/ribs. I was shocked to see two pieces of brisket and a chicken breast for $28. Maybe it was an off night but the quality just wasn't there. All the food was cold (our fault bc we ordered it for delivery) and was lacking flavor. Overall, we'd rate it like this: Brisket 3/5 Chicken 2/5 Mac n cheese 1.5/5 Green beans 3/5 Ribs 3/5 Potato salad 2/5 Maybe they were having a bad night but I wish our experience was better.

So it may be Google their family and all the different restaurants. I've been to Tony Mandola's before they closed plenty of times . However, I never heard of Mandola's deli, which is the cousins of that family. So I decided to give them a try today. I'm glad I did! I called about 10 minutes before closing today and I had the pleasure of talking with Joseph the owner. I had no idea he was the owner, but he was so nice over the phone. I asked if it was OK if I was ordering right before they close and he was like no problem at all. Just a great nice person answering the phone. It was such a pleasure to talk with him because that type of service these days is kind of a lost Art. So when I get there, we start to talk he shook my hand, asked my name treated me like family. Very personable nice guy running this establishment. Their entire family are just top-notch professionals and they understand how to treat people the right way. This is a lost Art. Food: I went with the deluxe, which is with their special. Absolutely amazing. Fresh bread, all the flavor with their homemade aïoli sauce. The meats were real good as well. I elected for the olives, which were great. Great food I will definitely come back here and try several things off their menu. Being that I live in downtown, this is gonna be one of my go to Spots. I've lived in Houston my entire life for 43 years. I'm not sure how I've never stumbled upon this place. I talked to Joseph and he said he's been eating here for 43 years as he's 43 years of age as well. What a nice guy and a great family. They're doing an awesome job here. I can't wait to keep coming back and try more things off the menu, bringing clients there and becoming a regular. This is my first time ever eating at this establishment and Joseph made me feel like I've been going there for 20 years. Thank you, sir!

Showed up on a Wednesday around 11:45 to a mostly empty restaurant. Its counter service ordering, but very friendly and efficient. My selection was a 5" Deluxe Po Boy which has Ham, Salami, Mozzarella lettuce tomatoes and Mandola's Italian spread. Simple sandwich, but oh so perfect. The bread was perfectly toasted, the cold cuts sliced just right and tasty and the italian spread was the perfect condiment. I'm not normally a cold deli sandwich person, but would order this sandwich over and over again. Since I was solo dining, but wanted to try more than just the sandwich on my first visit I opted for a side of spaghetti and the italian sausage. Dumped the italian sausage on my spaghetti and it was like a small side entree. The sausage was the highlight, but the spaghetti was well cooked and the traditional marinara was flavorful. While I expected the restaurant to be a little more bustling at lunch time, it was a very comfortable experience in the bright open dining area with a great deal of Houston Sports Memorabilia on the walls. I'm very glad to have visited this Houston Restaurant Icon.

I had originally wanted to come because I saw that they sold steaks for purchase you can bring home to cook. However, since it was lunchtime and we were already hungry, we decided to grab some lunch as well. We got the 3 meat combo with chicken, brisket, and ribs. It came with two sides and we chose coleslaw and chicken salad. I thought it was nice they had extra protein choices as sides. They also had a tuna salad and egg salad in addition to pasta salad, beans, potato salad and other options. The food came out quickly and the meats were all very tender. However, they just tasted salty. I had a hard time tasting any other spices/flavors which is what I'm accustomed to at other bbq places. The chicken salad was salty as well. It would've been tastier in a sandwich with some crisp greens versus just by itself. Coleslaw was average. Edible but nothing special. Husband thought it was too sweet. I do have to say the service was very friendly. The worker behind the counter gave us the impression that he really wanted to help and make us comfortable. When I found out they only sold bottled water, he offered to go to the back and grabbed us two cups of tap water, which was a nice gesture because he didn't have to. We ended up not getting any other meats because the unpackaged steaks looked dried out and sad in fridge. I wasn't sure if those were the pieces they would sell you or if they were just for display. But for $34.99/lb, I didn't want to risk them giving me the dried out looking steak. Overall, it seemed like people really like this place . The person in front of my husband said this place has the best burgers! And lots of people kept coming in and out. However, for us, this isn't our favorite.
