Visited the brown Barn for lunch. They were modernist but able to seat us quickly. My wife sipped on tea while we decided on lunch. We started with an order of Bacon Potato Barrels. Fantastic! She got the Honey crispy chicken sandwich and I got the Spicy chicken sandwich. Both were great. The spicy sauce was flavorful but messy. Worth it! We enjoyed the view of the slopes as we ate and it added to the ambiance of the place. Will definitely visit again and sample more of the menu.

Another birthday dinner, another successful evening with fantastic food and service. Over a dozen trips and have only been disappointed by the wait to get a table. Loaded barrels, burgers, salad, chicken it's all good. Plan ahead and make a call first. It's worth it

We pushed our luck and just showed up for dinner at 5 pm. Got lucky!!! Sat at the bar. GREAT service and the food was delicious. That pretzel is humongous. The cheese sauce is good but that spicy mustard is wondeful. Spicy chicken wasn't that spicy so if want spice go for hot but it was yummy. Onion rings are good. Companion had fries and the burger with the egg on top (sorry, no picture) and scarfed those down. This is one of the best neighborhood bar/taverns around :) Reservations highly reccomended.

One of our favorite restaurants. The foods always excellent in the services above par. Friday night they had fish fries, salmon soup instead of chowder, Ahi tuna, and calamari. More options than most restaurants.

This place hoppppps! My wait expected to be fifty-five minutes evaporated into fifteen minutes !!! Diners are welcomed thru a cozy waiting area and lots of outside seating is provided Guests enter a lavish ten to twelve paneled TV surrounded granite bar before taking to their simple tables and hard wooden chairs . Two friendly and professional bartenders approached me , received my order and filled it within moments - a steady stream of mouth watering Arnold Palmers with fresh juicy lemons and full ice cubes... A wonderful warm barn floor holds two open and rather large seating areas for guests ... The excellent wait staff are as attentive to detail as they are to grumpy golfers ( I arrived from nearby Fowler 's Mill Golf Course - one of Ohio's top three public golf courses) ...they are so sweet. What i like best was the Energy - in this bursting at the seams Ohio Tavern - evidenced by tables of friends meeting friends and multi-generational families of ten to twelve who fill neighborly tables. Although there was no noticeable room at the Bar, at 6:15 pm on an autumn Wednesday evening , a nice space was made and i settled in for the evening I ordered a Goat and Red Beet Salad with a Bacon Barn Burger ... i wasn 't disappointed. The salad was scrumptious and fresh as one might expect during harvest season The Brown Barn bacon burger was epic . Fresh brioche bun, cole slaw and fries ! Come here, but make a Reservation to avoid an uncomfortable wait

My husband and I LOVE the Brown Barn! There's a new chef there and the food quality is great! It was packed when we went a week or so ago.

Phenomenal food, great service. A real hidden gem, but well worth it. The salmon and the wings were especially great!

Service is always a very pleasant experience & the food is delivered in an appealing manner as well. Where else could you get a pint of Christmas ale for $2.90?! - well you can't get it here anymore this year because the last keg blew. - If you're looking to play darts, this place has four boards - Hell yea! They also have a bowling machine and a pool table. Now let me tell you about the wings and the fries. For starters the fries are fresh cut from unpeeled potatoes and are absolutely delicious while the wings are simply to die for. I got mine crispy and they were done to perfection. I chose hot as as well as buffalo Parmesan garlic. Ooooo weeee they are delicious -now go and get you some!! 5 for $5 or 10 for $10 and I'll bet you could get 15 for $15 or 20 for $20 if you wanted to .

Because what…read morewe have tried has been excellent so far & plan to eventually try everything on the menu (that's why) ! Prices are quite good & affordable. The onion rings (Huge & solid, that bite cleanly instead of pulling out all at once. Leaving a handful of hollow batter) & fried mushrooms ( pretty killer too) are addictive. The burgers (I'd easily say that it is one of the 2 best burgers in Geauga County. The other being JC's up the road just before the square in Burton. Hah.....Take that Cleats ) & the giant chili dog are spot on (moist but not greasy). Speaking of the chili, we all enjoyed a bowl by itself & plan to order it again. Also look forward to trying the French Onion Soup. Really good potato skins that I could make a meal of on there own. The Buffalo hot wings aren't greasy & better than Cleats in Chardon as well (but not as good as the Pterodactyl Wings from the old Maxx Doogan's in Chardon that broke our hearts when it closed............SIGH ). Nice atmosphere & it is quite pretty inside as well. Folks were friendly, professional & helpful too. Based on what I have seen I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to take the children here for lunch or dinner. All in all very happy to have found them & hope it stays this way !

The establishment that usually comes to mind is "Square Bistro". It sits on the scenic square in downtown Chardon. The beautiful small town atmosphere is very calming. Great for a pre or post dinner stroll. You don't have to be concerned in any way about safety before or after dark. It's just a great place to be. Making reservations is easy... but definitely necessary. Lots of people love this establishment. It is always full. They have a very nice conventional menu as well as an excellent Sushi bar. And currently they are having their "Fall Clam Bake" with loads of options. We entered and met Megan, our server for the evening. She had a smile that never quit. Her bubbly personality made for a very fun evening. She was very attentive but never intrusive. After ordering our beverages and appetizers she gave us plenty of time to get comfortable and investigate the menu options. A basket of the most wonderful warm bread was delivered to the table and when it was gone another appeared in it's place. All 4 of us ordered the "Tomato Salad" - Organic Heirloom Tomatoes | Fresh Mozzarella | Basil Olive Oil | Aged Balsamic Reduction | Fried Garlic & Shallot Chips. It is one of my favorite items from their menu. Everything is so fresh and the house made dressing is wonderful. I always look forward to it. For our entrees my brother and I ordered the "Veal Milanese Piccata" - Panko Herb & Asiago Breaded Veal Cutlet | Lemon Caper Cream Sauce | mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Our spouses ordered "Crab Crusted Grouper" - Pan Roasted Gulf Red Grouper | Cajun Crab Crust | Lobster Saffron Cream Sauce | Chef's Grain & Vegetable. I always enjoy the food at "Square Bistro" so I must say, during this visit the Veal was not quite up to their standards. It had good flavor, however the breading was too thick and a bit dry. Also it needed some additional sauce. I only make that note because it was not the norm for them. I'm sure it was a one-time misstep. Everything else we ordered was excellent as usual. After dinner was followed up with an excellent cup of coffee and fabulous desserts. We had "Pumpkin Spice Creme Brule", "Ice Cream Bomba", and "Candy Apple Tart". Each and every one was exceptional! So, as usual, "Square Bistro" on Chardon Square was a wonderful night out. It was a great evening as always. This establishment belongs on your "must see list".

Big fan. I did share the full rack of their amazing ribs with my son and we ordered an extra side of their unique baked beans. Their sauce is so far from the basic!! We were seated at our table and waited 25 minutes for wait staff to take our drink order. Another 20-minute wait to put in our dinner order. We were then told they were out of filets, salmon, chicken and waffles, and meat loaf. I finally ordered a side salad and pulled pork sandwich and my wife a specialty salad. My salad had a lot of old lettuce and was not so great. Another 25 minutes went by and we got our meals. My sandwich was cold in the middle and the smash potatoes were tasteless. The other salad also had similar issues. The server had many excuses for the lack of entrees available and the slow service such as how busy the kitchen was, etc. Will not be going back. Sam B.

Eating brunch here on Sunday before going apple…read morepicking reminded me of just how hard they work and how terrible so many people treat these lovely folk. That's my PSA for today. As for everything else, this little diner is definitely locally owned and locally loved. It was only a few minutes from the farm I took my bf to go apple picking on the far east side of Cleveland. FYI!!! - The menu online is incredibly outdated!! Each thing is about 50% more expensive. Use the attached menu pictures to get an accurate idea of prices in late 2025. This is no longer a cheap place to eat. :( After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were sat at the counter right next to the cash register and could hear everything the staff said. I was enlightened as to how terrible they are treated by stingy, entitled customers. I felt terrible about my impatience at getting seated and getting our food but it seems like all the staff and cooks were just burnt out today. They still did a pretty good job at making yummy food though! My bf got a skillet with home fries and wheat toast. This was a lot of food and the toast was very thicccc and very heavily buttered. I ordered a gyro salad with tzaziki sauce and it came with buttered triangles of pita bread. Since we weren't prepared for the price changes, we just got water to drink. We both were shocked at how LARGE the portions were! The gyro meat was so good and the pita bread was nice and lightly buttered. My bf was a huge fan of the sausage in his skillet. Because we didn't want to leave the food in the car for a few hours, we ate everything and did not have leftovers although we could have! Not sure how well my gyro salad would taste as leftovers though so it was probably best I ate everything. Lastly, I made sure to thank them and tip generously. I hope everyone else there did the same. I ended up paying about $42.
