Curiously, my friend - with whom I shared this experience - left a rather scathing review of our waitress who, he contests, rolled her eyes & changed her attitude when she learned we weren't getting appetizers or dessert. Admittedly, she did say "I push appetizers & dessert" - probably in an effort to boost her sales. But, in all fairness, this is a business whose primary objective is to make money. I've been to the Brown Barn before & had a good experience. It's a very casual, loud atmosphere...not unlike what you'd imagine a barn to be. My buddy ordered the Brown Barn Bacon Burger ($15) which sounded delicious but, curiously, lacked flavor. I ordered the Blueberry Apple Salad ($11). It was excellent. Obviously, restaurant reviews are purely subjective in nature. Since going out to eat is no longer a special event so much as it's just an ordinary occurrence, many restaurant experiences are just that - an ordinary experience. I like the setting & the appearance of the brown barn but, since the acoustics are terrible, would prefer if the loud, raucous bar area was off to one side rather than the middle of the restaurant. read more

First time here on a Saturday afternoon and was able to walk in and get seated. Are waitress was Cindy and she did an excellent job with recommendations and service! I had the pork chops medium with the Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts. Really good and if you like chops it was quality for sure. Wife had a classic burger medium and it came out medium well. Told our server Cindy and she sent it back and the replacement was perfect and delicious. Owner or manager came over to make sure it was perfect the second time and of course it was. eh....this place is just okay, sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. PROS: parking, location, big building, big bar, tons of TVs, nicely sized "large" draft glasses, they serve Guiness although I suspect that they poured it correctly (I will have to check if I go again), bathrooms are clean, super cool lighting fixtures and restoration-looking ceiling fan. CONS: The food is not that good, the ambiance felt like I was at a Ponderosa, the bartenders were good at first and then kind of lost it, we waited for our check and then had to finally flag them down to ask for it. Weather not good but we were out so I called from the car. Fortunately, they had room for us at 5. Happy hour is until 6. The 19th Hole is such a good drink - vodka, fruit juices, lemon lime soda. Also had the Fowler's Punch (or Rum). Coconut Rum, fruit juices.... so good! Had the Seafood Risotto again. Need to go here more often! Surf and Turf comes with asparagus - that was swapped for Mac n cheese. Delicious! Expect an owner to roam around and check on you. We had a fantastic dinner Saturday night. The braised short ribs were spectacular and my husbands seafood fettuccini was equally as delicious. Our friends also ordered the two same specials and had the same review FOOD IS 5 STAR FANTASTIC. It was our 2nd time to dine at the Brown Barn and both times the service was also 5 star fantastic. The manager was gracious and attentive while visiting our table. Our waitress Emma was equally excellent in taking care of us. I would love to give this restaurant a 5 star rating but I feel to earn that, EVERYTHING needs to be 5 star. Acoustics are very loud so it was challenging to have conversation. Both times we have been to this restaurant we had to enter and exit through cigarette smokers at the front door entrance .....just not at all pleasant. It would be greatly appreciated if owners/management would manage this and provide a designated smoking area away from the front door. There is ample space to do so. Our first time visiting BBT. Can't say how much of a positive experience we had, from being greeted with a smile at the hostess stand to the general manager Bill coming over and greeting us and then bringing complimentary glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate a birthday in our group. Or server Carli was very prompt and personal with a great smile and attitude. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed a couple of happy hour appetizers that were very tasty and a few happy hour cocktails too! This place is one of my regulars. Everything on this menu is fantastic. From the bourbon mixed drinks, to the appetizers, to the steak, the brunch menu, and the burgers. I've tried almost everything on this menu. The Saturday special of the Braised Short Ribs is probably my favorite. The chief takes his time with these ribs and they come out succulent and meaty. The gravy is rich and fantastic. The Chicken Fried Chicken is my everyday favorite. A full chicken breast lightly breaded and fried golden brown over mashed potatoes. Soooo good. read more

I came to Brown Barn today with my three kids and really didn't expect we will be able to sit, cause I've heard the place is very busy. I've been meaning to come here for months! Their specials posted on social media intrigued me. I decided to come here on a Saturday night for my mother's birthday. I read that they can be very busy and the do accept reservations so I easily made reservations on the phone the day before through Ashley. Wonderful! The location and building is so beautiful! It's perched on top of a hill and built just like a barn. The sun was setting when I arrived and it was such a beautiful sight with the trees and leaves. Alpine valley ski slopes are not far from here. Upon walking in, my parents and I were greeted by 2 wonderful and cheerful hostesses. They had our table ready right behind them. The front entrance leads into a beautiful full bar area. The bar is huge and lots and lots of TVs to watch sports at every angle. Great atmosphere. They do have a quieter spot in the back but I did not view this area for myself. Bathrooms are right next to the bar area. Our server was Sarah and she was absolutely wonderful! Great personality and so welcoming. I ordered the beet and goat cheese salad to start as an appetizer and the salmon BLT with sweet potato fries as an entree. My parents to order the pastrami sandwich and the classic burger. Shortly after ordering, Sarah came back to let me know the the salad was very big and asked if I still wanted it. She even offered to make a smaller size portion of it! I gladly accepted that offer and I thought was so thoughtful of her to do. When it came out, it was still a large portion so I couldn't imagine what the full portion was! The salad had sliced roasted beets, goat cheese, pecans, red peppers, spring greens, tomatoes, and a blood orange vinaigrette. I asked for no tomato and to switch the dressing to the maple balsamic. It came with the orange dressing and tomatoes but I didn't complain because it was so good! You could tell the ingredients were fresh! My meal came out with regular fresh cut fries instead of the sweet potato fries but Sarah was quick to give me a side of sweet potato fries when I corrected her. Simple mistake. I actually preferred the fresh cut fries more than the sweet potato fries. They were so good! The sweet fries were average to me. They reminded me of the sweet potato fries from Arby's. Lack luster. My salmon BLT was amazing! Fresh cooked flaky salmon on a whole wheat bun with greens and an aioli and bacon. Flavor was fabulous. My parents both enjoyed their meals as well. They dug in so fast I was able to get a picture. My dads pastrami sandwich looked so damn good. The menu had something for everyone( even kids)! It's a great atmosphere to come for any occasion (sport game, date, family/friend gathering) sit back and enjoy this beautiful space with wonderful staff and delicious food. COVID precautions are in place. I never felt unsafe here. I plan to come back as soon as possible and on a Friday because they always have delicious specials on fridays. The have daily specials so just ask! Brunch is also offered on Sundays which sound fabulous. Perfect time to enjoy brunch during a browns game in their bar area! I highly suggest checking this place out. The price point is alittle on the higher side but reasonable for the quality of food. The price for our meals was exceptional for under 50$ not including tip, my dad also got a beer. Entrees are priced a little higher but they sounded fabulous.
