I love brown bear. Grew up with my parents only washing their cars there. My review is only for this location. This brown bear has some very unprofessional employees. There is a guy with glasses that works there. Makes me very uncomfortable. Keeps staring at my body and asks very personal unprofessional questions. Are you single? what would you like to do on the first date? can I take you on a date? I just graduated with IT degree can we celebrate? I mean seriously dude. Other employees hear it and just laugh! I paid to have my car washed at Brown Bear in Des Moines, and this is what my car looked like when they were done. I offered to pay them to do it again if they would do a better this time. She said there's no guarantee that it would come out any better if I paid them to do it again I said then maybe they should have a sign that says "maybe we'll clean your car Wash" She said I was welcome to go somewhere else! read more

This location is pretty good. They don't tape the rear windshield wipers, however, my daughter's car held up. It was during Mother's Day when we stopped by. Car was cleaned good. They had a great message for all Mother's out there. How thoughtful. -=) read more

Self-service check-in would not accept Brown Bear Car Wash gift card. Attendant said they no longer accept their gift card, and would require payment for the gate arm to raise. Paid $12.80 with tax, and the result was a mediocre, high-priced car wash, with poor service overall. read more

$9 for a basic wash is a bit much considering most car washes that I have used in the past is $6 for the same level of service. Add to the fact you have to pay for a vacuum use and the absence of handheld air blowers make this a less than stellar visit. The good... it did clean my wheels better than most. Maybe in a pinch I will come back, but no guarantees. read more

Hello Brown Bear customers- please avoid or make sure to check your car and make sure THEY check your car for any cracks or scratches. If I could give a -10000000 stars I could. Here's my story: A day before my fiance washed his car but can't get the bugs out so we decided to go to Brown Bear so they do a "better" job. Now, today at 2:30p we went through a car wash and heard a crack - as if a rock hit it during the beginning of the wash. Once we were entering the air dryer we noticed this huge crack near his rearview mirror. We had the manager look at it and she said she couldn't give out insurance and that nothing from her precious car wash would have done that- you know rehearsed stuff managers are supposed to say when this happens. I have posted a picture of the crack, contacted the owner, our insurance and am now thinking about suing. Regardless please be careful when you go to any carwash. read more

Been here a few times without issues but found thousands of tiny scratches all over the driver side of my truck after going through this last time. Not worth the hours of buffing I have now to get rid of them, hopefully. Steer clear if you have a dark colored vehicle. read more

This literally just happened 10 mins ago in Des Moines location. Worst brown bear I've ever been too. The worker guiding all the cars to go straight in the car wash didn't grab my subscription sticker inside my car very quick, did it while I was in neutral n running, he told me to press my brakes and I did then the machine stopped and my car lifted a little, he scanned my sticker, closed my door, than he tried to talk to me again, rolled my window down and the car wash was already starting! So my window's down and I get wet! Oh my gosh he did not know what he was doing. He was rude, and didn't look happy. Customer service was not his thing at all. Worst experience, even told his colleague he didn't know what he was doing. If he didn't he wouldn't have came up to the window 3 times telling me what to do and I got wet. Smfh will never go to this location again. read more

I'm consistently driving to multiple destinations throughout the week through dirt, grovel, bark etc. or parked under redbud trees, so paying $20/mo. for unlimited basic washing is very convenient to get those cleaned off quickly! This place is very slow and closes early then the hours shown. I been waiting almost 1 hour for them to do cleaning, why are you guys doing this during business hours. I don't have any issues with this place, all the employees are extremely nice, the only thing I wish, since I get off work around 7ish and like washing my car before I get home since it's on the way, they're suppose to close at 8pm on weekdays, but I have been there 15-25 minutes sometimes and the wash is already been closed for the night and it's super frustrating rushing thinking ill make it and they close way earlier. Anyways, one other thing since I've had the membership for a while, adding the vacuum use to the membership would be a really nice feature read more

My favorite Brown Bear location in king county. Come here every week and sometimes more than once a week to get my baby washed. Relatively "newer" location so never had any issues with the car wash. Always clean parking lot and a friendly group of employees. read more

Great group of people working at this location. Always smiling and eager to get everyone in and out. The parking lot can get a lil crowded on sunny days but nothing can really be done about that. Bling bling! Down the street and back, great service! I finally took my car over here to get washed, and she looks absolutely different. I prefer hand washed car washes but wow this was a great job. And I'm now thinking in my head gesh I should be coming back more often. I do come here every once in awhile to clean the car out, but I never have taken it to get the car actually washed. I have been a Brown Bear Unlimited Wash Club for about 6 months now. Today I received a letter in the mail that my membership had been cancelled for being a "for hire" vehicle. First of all, let me state that I had no idea this was against the terms of service and was not told this when I signed up. I quickly filled out an application on the spot given to me by an employee and must have overlooked that snag. Secondly, I have been a loyal Brown Bear customer for many years now, well before signing up. And third, although my vehicle is occasionally used for a ride-share driving service on the side, it is primarily used for personal driving. Furthermore it is concerning to me how it was "discovered" that my vehicle is a for hire vehicle. Is Brown Bear photographing my car when it comes through? I mean I have small logo sticker on the back but its fairly small. Bottom line, it shouldn't matter what I'm using my vehicle for... unlimited is unlimited and I have far from overused the service. In fact I had felt that I may not even be getting enough use to make it worth it and had recently considered downgrading on my own. The unlimited plans are supposed to save consumers money and this just looks like "oh hey, they're a business, they must have lots of money so lets charge them more". Well, I cannot afford the extremely outlandish rates in the commercial wash club application they sent me today, so I will not only no longer be a member of your club, I will no longer be using Brown Bear at all. If Brown Bear is concerned about commercial services overusing the unlimited wash club they should call it the "Limited Wash Club" instead and place a maximum number of washes per month in the terms. That would make it fair for all rather than assuming all businesses will overuse or have extra money to shell out. I would like to add, that I have a second car which is not on a membership that I regularly wash at Brown Bear but will also wash it elsewhere in the future. In addition my room-mate who does not have a for hire vehicle signed up after I sang the praises of the program, and I will be informing him that he should cancel as well. I am very disappointed in this whole issue, and the way it has been handled by Brown Bear. The employees who initially signed me up knew, since I was a regular, that I was a for-hire vehicle and mentioned nothing. This is basically a bait and switch... get me signed up... then jack up the rates from there. That is unethical. read more

Excellent visit to this location. Went to several Brown Bears in Seattle and couldn't find a drive-thru car wash set-up. Attendant was extremely helpful and offered to remove and then re-attach antenna after car wash was complete. I got the Beary special? Wax included, and my car looks brand spanking new! I LOVE this car wash! Their vaccumes have amazing suction, even for dog hair! And when you get your car washed here for 5.00, it is CLEAN! My car looks new! The people are VERY friendly too! And while you are getting your car washed, you get to smell some yummy pizza's cooking from the pizza place next door, Prima Margherita's! A win win for me today! read more

Aweful! Aweful! AWEFUL! Lets start off by saying almost impossible to get into their parking lot/vaccuum area. The people working just hang out in their little room and play on the computer. I clean out my car with their 1.00 for 3 minutes worth of vaccuming, wipe my windows with cheap non micro fiber DIRTY rags, and go to the car wash. Oh the car wash, this is when I really decided that I will stick to detailing my own vehicle. I paid for the 9 dollars car wash, (mind you, my car isn't in the greatest of shape, but it's still solid.) My antenna was ripped off my car, and two screws were ripped out of my bumper. So me kind of freaking out of course go to the attenet hoping he had my antenna, but he didn't. It was somewhere in the mashing. He looked for it and couldn't find it. And when I asked him now what all he said was,"well there's nothing I can do." And walked off. A refund maybe, a free car wash (that I would never use.) So like I said, I will clean my car at my house, and will never go back to a brown bear car wash, and they will not be getting a good word from me. read more
