I hit a pothole a little too hard and ended up with a damaged tire and rim. Fortunately, they weren't busy at 10:45 am on Friday. I was quickly greeted, assessed and was sold a (almost new) used tire ($75), given a complimentary rim repair and paid an old tire disposal fee ($7). 30 minutes and $82 later, I was on my way again. This place has always done right by me and I'll come back the next time I have a tire issue. 5 Stars And a few more things: No appointments. It's first come, first served. They take cash or credit. I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seen, even on a busy day. I had a nail removed and patched last year and it only cost $20. Prices are reasonable and very competitive. read more

Don't go to the alignment shop next door. Dude claimed I needed new tire rods to do my alignment, which he then replaced. Fine with that. Had my alignment done twice here since after the first alignment it was still pulling to the left. Was still pulling to left after two alignments so took to another mechanic to have it looked at thinking it may be a bigger issue. New mechanic said it wasn't done properly after he put my car on a lift and drove it. Mechanic at Browns left a bolt unattached on one of my new tire rods which is dangerous. Also never fixed my alignment issue. Have also had a tire bolt broken off at the tire shop next to the alignment shop. They miss threaded the bolt back on causing it to break. Didn't tell me, just hid it and had to find out months later. Used to love this place and support, but now my car is getting damaged and I was allowed to drive off in an unsafe fix after spending a bunch of money! read more

Oyrchased a tire 4 days ago and after waiting 45 mins for the 5ech to get done talking to other employee . The tire lasted 4 days and went flat again went to another shop to get replaced with a better and cheaper tire %60 inc tax and browns charges $75 found where the tech put new valve stem it got pinched and was leaking at valve stem. They started going down hill about 3 years ago but know i must say in the whole city of columbus oh they are #1 on my WORST used tire shoos . Had a great experience. I thought I needed 3 tires but I was told I needed just one. Next door to the tires was the brown's repair where I had my car aligned and when it was discovered that my tire rod (holds tire on) wasn't in properly on/ or was bent. (That was the tire that needed replacing & made sense it wore down). To the owners: you have fantastic, honest employees. It felt so nice feeling like I wasn't being taken advantage of but knowing I was paying for what I needed. Please take care of them for people like me who are smart enough to know the difference and take care of them who deliver a service as only an owner would or could with high integrity. I recently experienced a flat/blown-out tire a few days ago and I had to get a replacement from the nearest tire shop. I was fortunate when I was able to find Brown's Tire Sales & Services & even more so when they informed me of their prices. Initially, I only had a flat with one tire, but my tow truck driver (known by a family member and prior to them leaving me) recommended two of my tires to be replaced, and then I was informed by one of the mechanics that it's actually three of my tires that should be replaced. I went along with it cause I didn't know any better and trusted that since it was a family business, they would care more for the service than the profit. Everything was fine and I paid what I had thought was a good price for the three tires and the service/labor. A day later, I drove to work without any noticeable issues. When I left work, one of my tires (different than the first flat tire) had slowly been losing air. I thought it was suspicious cause I didn't hit anything while on the road and I definitely didn't drive to work with a flat. So I go to the nearest gas station while driving like a snail (embarrassing) to get some air. I then go to a previously referred to and trusted tire shop to see if there's a hole in the tire and if it could be patched up rather than getting another replacement. Because of my snail driving, there was damage to the tire and it had to be replaced. Upon further inspection by the trusted mechanic, he discovered a couple of things: 1. Two of the three tires that I had bought from Brown's were not only different sizes from each other, but only 1 of them matched the remaining good tire when I first showed up. 2. I was told that I could pay for 2 new tires and 1 old one. It turns out that all 3 tires were old considering the tread marks and other qualities previously unbeknownst to me. 3. The newly bought tire that had lost air did indeed have a hole that wasn't properly inspected/discovered. In addition to that, Brown's had offered a realignment service which would've cost me more money if I had it at the time, but knowing what I know now, if I did go for the realignment and my tires were all different, it wouldn't have made a difference and I would've had to keep going back to resolve the issue. My car's alignment has also been further disrupted because of the time I spent on the road from Brown's and to my job while on different sized wheels. These guys took advantage of my inexperience with tires and proper tire replacement service just so they could make a profit from their "low prices". Please be careful and monitor their actions and research the service and quality you're supposed to get. I don't want a refund, just to make sure that others are aware and do a better job than I did, especially if going to a new location for assistance on something that you do not know much about. read more

This is my second time getting Four new tires on one of my vehicles. I was referred to a this place from a good friend that has an Audi Coupe and he told me they had the best deals. His car required some wide tires, so he had to be serious. This time I needed 4 new tires for a 2008 BMW 528i. Tires are right about in the middle of the pack in terms of thin to wide. It's a fairly wide tire, so, not the cheapest. Can definitely get pricy. Now, to business. Four new, alls season tires (225/50/R17). $90 per tire. $360. Additional $20 for my old tires. Total, out the door, balanced= $380. Well worth it. I called the day before and they had all four. Great value on great tires. I always price shop(as I'd always recommend) but I come here because they are fair and good. Sometimes they are extremely busy, so try to get there on a slow day. read more

Since Lonnie took over from his father the business has grown. It was always terrific dealing with his dad & Lonnie has a gift for people and for business which is rare when you see an established business taken over by a younger person in the family. I will be proud if my son shows this kind of effort and integrity when he steps in to take over my business. I was parked in the Home Depot (Trueman Blvd) parking lot when I found out that my tire had gone flat...getting ready to call AAA...Then Lonnie drove by in his Brown Tire Sales truck and asked me if I had the spare...He offered to replace it...Given that he was from a tire shop I accepted...He got the jack and other other equipment right away from his truck and immediately replaced the damaged tire with the toy spare. then he looked closely at the damage and found that it was a bent rim. He pulled out the hammer and straightened out the bent right away. We were able to pressurize the tire with my portable air pressure pump...and then he went the extra mile to replace the toy spare with the repaired original tire...What a great act of kindness from a stranger to a stranger. Thanks Lonnie.. I offered to give him a tip, and he politely refuesed, saying "You dont have to pay me" I tried again and he did not change his mind..What a great samaritan! God bless you. I bought used tires they suggested and said were good tires, and they are 5 stars. Then I noticed the guy was not using a torque wrench so I asked what he was torquing them too. He said 120lbs. But I never saw a torque wrench come out? Thought maybe impact had a setting?? Two weeks later I needed to change wheel bearings and could not budge two of the lugs. Paid $20 + lug $6 to get those off. A week later I needed to change the bearing on other side, same issue. It was bad so I took to local tire shop to get them off. They called me and said these are the tightest they have ever dealt with. Charged me 54 dollars plus I had to go buy 3 lugs. We are down to three stars. I decided to go to Brown's for last two tires. They ended up sending me to a mechanic shop they work with to get them off. They did not charge me but I had to buy damaged lugs because the shop did not have any. 2 stars. I mention to Brown's how much money I spent and they said lugs at only $3 I'll buy you one man. No where are lugs $3, I looked. No offer to reimburse. Also the guy said he only torques to 90lbs. Spec is 140 and these were off charts. One tire shop tried a semi impact that did not budge them, on guy welded his sockets to the lug so they would not slip. So if you go, you will be ok just insist they barely tighten and then use torque wrench!!! read more

This tire shop is by far the most reputable, honest, hardworking tire shop you'll find in Columbus. Recently I was in immediate need of two (2) hard-to-find performance tires for my BMW. Not only did they have two great tires available, but they were by far the best price in town. They literally have tires to meet any budget, and not the worn/treadless junk you find at other used tire shops. The staff got me in and out of there in a hurry (even in the pouring down rain on a Sunday afternoon). Bottom line is that this is an outstanding and properly operated family-owned business that puts the customer first.
