Goodness. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. I'm disabled and in loads of pain. This is the third time I've had to reschedule. I arrive after letting them know my tpms keeps going in and out of working. Right after it was fixed. So they said verbatim. I don't have a plan with it working now. We can schedule a time for you to drop it off. I'm disabled. I don't have that option. I need my vehicle and do not have someone to come get it. All things they are aware of. It's just tedious to have your time wasted again and again. And I wouldn't want anyone to do that here. Also apparently I was making. A previous review of an oil change wheee they didn't reset my light. And them just leaving a voicemail telling me how to do it myself. Not really worth the value in my opinion if you're constantly doing the work for them and reminding them of your traumatic brain injury and accommodations you have previously requested. They barely let me finish my request before telling me to pull the car around and checking all four of my tires, for free, in 25-degree weather. I was hesitant to update the previous review, but our most recent experience was not the same. We brought our car in for regular service (oil change, tire rotation, inspection etc). We got the inspection report emailed to us, which only indicated needing to replace engine and cabin air filters. But it also looked like our tires were over inflated based on the report. I mentioned this at pick up, and they double checked all four tires before we left to correct the issue. By the time we drove home, one tire was reading 39 psi after it was checked again, when it said 35 in the report originally and should have been 33 to begin with. I fixed the issue myself but just felt careless on their part. Also noticed that they didn't reattach the battery terminal cover, which again felt careless. A week later, we got three automated emails that said we were recommend battery replacement, suspension repair, and shock/strut replacement during our last visit and that we needed to schedule those services. All of these things were marked as okay in the report, so needless to say they won't be getting any more of my business. read more

I was on vacation from out of town and had a bad tire on my rental car. I needed a new tire but could not find anyone who had the right tire or could help me until I talked to Larry Scowden at Boyd's Bethel Tire centre. Larry was able to identify the tire that I needed, but they couldn't get one for several days. Instead of telling me they couldn't help me, he called another tire company and working with them, was able to get the correct tire the next day. Eventhough Boyd's didn't fix the tire, they helped me resolve the issue and did not abandon me. Their work ethics and professionalism are above par. AN HONEST AND REASONABLE TIRE & AUTO REPAIR SHOP...!!! I've done business with Boyd's Tire & Service on Godown Road (just north of Bethel Road) for years. Larry, Ryan and the entire team are genuinely nice guys, and they're honest and fair. There have been plenty of things over the years where a less scrupulous repair shop might have said "and this is bad, and that also needs replaced, and it's going to be this many $$$...", but they didn't. More often, they've said "no, your front brakes are fine - you just need the back brakes done" or "yea, we can put a plug in that", or "the cable just needed adjusted", or something similar. Mind you, I've spent plenty of money here, but I've always been treated fairly, and felt they only did the work that needed done, and I got good value for my money. That's why I come back. I took my car in to get new tires, an oil change, and an alignment last week. From the beginning the staff was very fair, open, and honest. They got to work on my car immediately. Turns out it was a stroke of luck that I took my car in that day, because a fuse in the engine blew out while they were trying to move it. They were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping walk me through what went wrong and how to fix it. The problem was fixed quickly and inexpensively, and now my car runs better than it has in years! Thanks to the engine issues, the price obviously ended up being a bit more than I initially expected, but the staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to get me the best possible deal. Boyd's replaced a couple of tires for me yesterday and when I went to pick up my car, there was an older woman ahead of me at the counter. She had a lot of questions for Ryan (Assistant Manager?) who was patient and through with her. She asked if they would give her a courtesy ride home while they worked on her car in the upcoming days and Ryan assured her they'll make sure she has a ride. I thought it was a classy touch that Boyd's offered her this service since it was obvious she needs assistance getting around. As for my own experience, I'm fairly low maintenance as a customer and fortunately Boyd's made it easy for me to do most of my business online and had my car ready for me at the promised time. Do you value honesty? I sure do. Todd and the guys at Boyd's are just that - honest and straight forward. As woman that knows nothing about cars, I often times feel as if I am being taken advantage of. Given that fact, I usually get multiple quotes. On two different occasions, I learned from the staff at Boyd's that repairs another shop (or dealer) said were necessary were not! Their honesty saved me approximately $2,000. Wow, right? I no longer feel the need to get multiple quotes - I just go straight to Boyd's. Oh, and they will give you a ride home while your car is being repaired. I know the dealerships provide that service too but you usually wait and there are multiple stops along the way. If I could give more stars I would. read more

I have been going to Boyd's, on Godown, for a few years now, and Larry and his team always take good care of me and my car. I have a WRX that needs tires swapped each winter/summer and they always do a good job. I recently bought a used car, that I thought needed tires. I ordered them online and made the appt for the Godown store. After the car had some repairs done, I realized I might not need the tires after all. But I kept my appt and went to see Larry. I asked him to be honest and tell me if I actually needed the tires I'd ordered. He went out with me to take a look. He measured the tread as well as a visual inspection for bumps, and told me, while 'he'd love to sell me new tires', I did not, in fact, need them but to check back with him before winter. That is what I'm talkin' about folks. I realize that's what I wanted to hear but he surely could've told me otherwise and I would have believed him. My car wouldn't start and being that I'm not from the Columbus area and had to get home to Michigan, I started freaking out. I had friends jump my car 3 times and it wouldn't budge so I started getting even more worried. I saw the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try, called in and talked to Larry, he assured me that they could take care of my problem. He recommended a tow truck company to me and suggested I ask them to jump my car first before I drop money to get it fixed. I did just that and my car was alive and running! I had my vehicle here for the first and last time a couple weeks ago for an oil change. With your oil change, you are to receive a multi point inspection. This was not what I received as I had my car scheduled for an appointment at my dealership shortly after to check out a vibration issue and was advised that the front axles (left and right side) were completely shot and needed replaced immediately to avoid any further damage to my car, let alone a safety issue. The technician who completed my oil change marked that my axles were perfectly fine on my paperwork. The dealership told me if it was checked, the technician would have caught this due to the amount of play they found when checking out my car. I called and spoke with the manager, Larry, and received an insincere apology along with an offer for a free oil change. No thank you. I paid $50 for a service that was not completed correctly or entirely....why would I want to bring my car back knowing the technicians aren't doing their job and missing key items. No refund (partial or full) was offered which I find to be baffling. Customers beware! read more

I used to go to the Boyds goodyear location over in Hilliard and I had exceptional service I moved and the one on go down and Bethel is very close to my house. I have had nothing but issues with this location for the past three years although I kept going to them because they're convenient to where I live Their customer service from just basic phone skill is absolutely horrible - the manager Larry is one of the most unfriendliest people I've ever encountered. We had our car in for break work and we got bait and switch on the price drastically with no additional work being completed. They told me I needed a mass air control sensor - I had them install it and I have had my car in there twice now for issues related to it. I understand we all have bad situations and figuring out what could be wrong is difficult at best - but it's how you handle those that make the world a difference. Be warned of this location I am not confident that they know what they are doing. read more

I made an appointment with Boyd's to replace my front brakes. My brake light had been coming on every time I made a hard stop and my brakes were squeaky. When they took a look at it, they said my brakes were fine, even showed me while my car was on the lift. They said my brake light coming on may just be the brake fluid, and they'd check it. They didn't even charge me anything for the inspection. Honesty and excellent customer service! They earned my future business. read more
